So I went to Dicks to buy my daughter a compound bow. I figured that I would save myself a trip to Bass Pro Shop.... I regret that decision. The person had no idea or did he even work at that department. The person that worked that department was off. One person runs the whole hunting department! I still bought the compound bow because I had a rewards coupon and it was on sale. I was told that I could do the adjustment on the bow later on. Well, I called to come in to get it adjusted and no surprise, I was told to leave the bow there a couple of days to get it adjusted because the person was off. The guys didn't know that adjusting the bow required the person to be there because it goes to the preference of the person using the bow. They of course didn't know that was the case because they didn't work at that department. I ended up driving to bass pro to get everything done and never again will I buy anything that requires services from the people that work at Dicks. When you go shopping nobody wants to be constantly followed around especially after being asked if you needed any help and you say NO. It was actually pretty ridiculous and really annoying. I was looking for SOCCER stuff and they had a weak selection and overpriced. I went to Soccer Wearhouse down the street.

I called in prior to going here and was told "Jimmy" had SKI bindings he could put on my skis and they in fact DO NOT have any ski bindings or ANY ski equipment whatsoever. Nobody was there to help me when I walked in with my skis and I was told by the manager "Paula" that there was a miscommunication with her employees and they thought I was looking for snowboard bindings. This was after I specifically said SKI bindings over the phone prior to arriving. These people do not listen effectively are deliver very little in the way of customer assistance. In my opinion, it's the best selection of running shoes in the High Desert. Dicks has large golf, hunting and fishing departments. I think they could offer a better selection of sporting clothes. I think the customer service could be a little better with more staff in the depts. Can be hard to get help but maybe that was just the day I was there. I will shop there in the futire. read more

I've been to Dick's 4 times trying to resolve my son's bike warranty problem. This weekend I drove over 100 miles back and fourth to home and to the store to get this resolved. Still not resolved. I came in for a compression sleeve for my knee to one help while working out at the gym and two to help when my knee hurt usually when cold. I push the button to get help picking out the right one for me. Garret was the very nice gentleman who help me. After I push thr button he was there in less then a min. He showed me where the sleeve were and ask me what I would be useing it for. I explain I would use it to help me work out since I dislocated my knee a few year back and I'm trying to not dislocating it again and that my knee sometimes start to hurt because of the cold or just out of the blue. He reccomend the P-Tex pro knit compression knee sleeve. He explain it would help support my knee cap with just the right amount of movement that i needed. He also explain he use this brand himself and it one of their top seller. The selling point for me beside him being a AMAZING sale associate by being quick and making me feel like he really care about what I was looking for is knowing that he use the same knee sleeve himself. Knowing that he use it and like it made me confident in buying one myself. I can't give enough credit to Garret for his help....... I also want to recognize that Brianna was my cashier she was awsome too,she got my checked out really quick and her up beat personality was nice to be around. I was in there Monday night, wanted to check out and use a Retailmenot coupon, and it wasn't scanning. The sales associate called the manager (Jimmy) and he was so rude saying that Dicks does not accept coupons from any apps. I had been there on Saturday, and was able to use a Retailmenot coupon. I explained that to him, and he said they are not supposed to. Does anybody know if this is true? He was so rude about it too! Where can I report this? It is not the fact that he didn't accept the coupon, because I still bought everything I wanted, it's the way he handled the situation. I came in to purchase a gun safe, and as I'm shopping around talking with the guy he says let me see if I can find you one in the back maybe get you a discount from a scratched one, comes back says we have new ones only in the box . I purchased the $800 safe and as we go to load it up come to find out it was completely damaged and chipped !! She is a great example and really went the extra mile, brought me all different sizes and brands of knee braces, assisted me in trying them on and happily returned the ones I didn't need. They'll give you one limit and then in 2 months after opening it, paying off the balance each month they'll lower it without notice to you. What a ripoff scam business. All I have to say is do NOT have the dumbasses help you to your car with merchandise. The moron employee by the name of "Jimmy" helped put a Kayak in my FJ Cruiser and broke my Windshield. (The only reason I asked for help is because I am 5 months pregnant) anyhow I didn't notice the damage right away but before leaving the parking lot I got out because I couldn't see out my passenger side window so I move the kayak back a couple of inches and low and behold an approximate 10'' - 12" diameter crack in my windshield. I immediately called the store so he could come out and look at the damage but when I told him he denied it, laughed, and told me he wouldn't be liable if he did it anyway.
