Took my 1911 in for some fitting, John worked on installing a grip safety and had my gun for a week, picked up the gun and realized the grip safety was not engaging and the trigger pulled without pressing the grip safety. I took it to another gunsmith and they confirmed the safety was not installed correctly and no framework was done. I called the shop and explained to them that it wasn't done properly and Ashley took a confrontational tone and explained that "I didn't pay nearly the amount of money that the job was worth, and the fact that I took it to another gunsmith before taking it to them was why it wasn't working and that three people function tested the gun before signing it off. They offered to refund me for the grip safety and I countered and asked them to replace the grip safety instead. She spoke over me and didn't let me get a word in and essentially took offense that I took MY gun to another gunsmith to see exactly what they did wrong. I'm sorry but you guys don't know what you're doing and I wouldn't trust taking a hi-point to these people. I have another gunsmith that I trust but I decided to give a small business a chance, attached is the picture of the filing job they did, please look elsewhere. (Grip safeties are almost always a frame job, not a safety arm filing job). If I didn't pay nearly the amount of money for the job you quoted me on that is your problem, I didn't ask for discounts or handouts, I wanted it done right, money was never an issue. read more

I have been in there twice. They were well staffed and I didn't have to hunt down help. The staff approached me both times and asked if they could help me. They have a good selection of ammo but didn't have my ammo in the store. They ordered it for me on the spot and said they would stock it from now on. Love this store patriot armory is the best gun store in the high desert. Highly recommend purchased all my ammo and two guns.

I should've updated a while ago but work/COVID/calloffs/etc, you know the drill. They had an in-store only special a while back and at the time certain frames and parts were really hard to source. I was on PTO so had a few days off and figured I'd spend one of those days driving from Long Beach to Apple Valley to score a deal. Eh, not so much. Good news was I was the only one in the store (mid week around 10am) and asked about the special. Sales guys says "uh, I think we don't have any left" (this was the second days after their sale so I'm like "are you kidding me?") but a lady points to the area on the floor where boxes are stacked ten-high. Pick up a complete slide and I'm off to the races. $700 total which isn't much of a "special" but I'm thinking USPA took advantage of hard-to-find items and made a sizable profit. I'm certainly not knocking capitalism but they're a difference between a fair profit and gouging the customer. Usually when you make a purchase, you get a "thank you" from the staff.
