Found Dick's Sports Barbers by chance while visiting and got the best haircut of my life. I have coarse hair that easily shows transition lines that most barbers can't hide when doing a fade on me. The end result is usually a bunch of lines in my head and I end up buzzing it. Spencer briefly asked me what I wanted and I gave him what I thought was a terrible explanation. 20 min later he had given me the best haircut of my life and it was exactly what I wanted! I turned 42 years old in September and looked shaggy. I needed a buzz. I booked an appointment online that fit my schedule with the available barber. At 8:30 am I parked behind the joint conveniently and walked in the back. The 2 barbers and kind lady at the front desk greeted me with "Happy Birthday!"s. There were 2 clients and 2 barbers at the time. My wait was comfortable, short and entertaining without ever pulling out my iPhone. So many pictures and memorabilia. The cut was brief, amicable and exactly what I asked for. Went to work. Had endless shrimp with my family for dinner. A month later, they've now reminded me via email to go back for another trim. Totally sweet. You can play video games while waiting to get your hair cut. Even if the hair cuts were terrible, video game waiting rooms are enough to merit 5 star status. Additionally, the place is pretty much staffed with all of Dick's kids, who, in case you were wondering, are awesome. Spencer always cuts my hair. Long (barbers name) has cut my hair 2 times. Both times were perfect! There is nothing more frustrating then inconsistency in quality of the haircut, especially if it's the same barber. However, both times have been amazing ! I haven't had any of the other barbers cut my hair, this review is strictly for Long. I made an apt the second time and it went seamlessly!!! Some might say the price is a bit high (30$ + tip), but for me , it's WELL worth the piece of mind and quality! I've had plenty of 18$ haircuts that I hate and end up going somewhere else anyways. Kept me waiting after I showed up for my appt. and had to talk with the guy who hair he cut last, rude and inconsiderate. Too laid back and my haircut was just okay for $25+tip. (I tip every barber I go as a common courtesy). I was not too impressed by Dick being a dick to me and pointing out hair issues with my hair. Also, no hot lather neck shave! What the hell!? Every real barber does that, and when I spoke to the lady on the phone before I made my appt., I specifically asked if Dick's does that, she said, "Yes." First and last time there! Not worth it. Go to 7th street barbers if you want a decent haircut at half the price. And be ready for typical Edina stuck-up, "macho" snooty, older men who look at you like you're invading their precious little space. I was referred to as the "new guy."! BAAA! I went in for a beard trim and specifically stated to the barber I wanted just a trim and to keep all of the length. I got sheared like a sheep! I'm very upset that the barber chopped my beard off. I could have done that at home if that is what I wanted to do. I wanted it cleaned up so it looked nice not removed. I tried calling the shop three times prior to writing this review, they never answered. I was specific with the barber and am very dissapointed. My four year old can follow directions better. Very poor quality at best. I picked this place becuse I thought they could handle the task better than a sports clips type shop, huge mistake. Maybe this will help keep others from making the same one. If you are looking for old time barber service (like I was) this is not the place. read more

I received a very good haircut but to call this a 'sports' barber is false. While the AFC Divisional Playoff game was starting, the TV was tuned to 'Family Feud'. Also, the web site offered a $5 discount to first time customers. When this coupon was presented, it was not accepted with the explanation of 'We are no longer accepting those - we should take that off of the web site" Very poor way to do business. read more

Just received an excellent haircut at Dick's Sports Barbers from Brandon. I just moved to the Twin Cities and was in the market for a new hair cut site. I arrived there at 1045a on a Monday morning as a walk-in and was immediately was able to get a chair. My barber was very professional, and his work on my side fade and trim was excellent. He was very methodical in his work, the final product is very clean, and the conversation was very engaging. The atmosphere of the place was unique and relaxed.
