This is my own personal experience with what used to be known as The Barbers and now apparently has…read morethe name 'Custom Trim Barbers'. My experience occurred today, August 2, 2023, which involved an appointment I made for a hair cut for both myself and my husband for today, August 2, 2023, and the time was to be arrive at 11:30am. I explained to the person who took the appointment that I had another appointment at 1:00pm in Bloomington and wanted to make sure I allowed them enough time to do both of us. She assured me that if we were there by 11:30 or a bit earlier we would be just fine as we both have short hair. We arrived on August 2, at approx 11:26am, walked in to an empty shop except for the woman who was working. We sat down and the first thing she said was "Your appointment was 11:45am." I said No, it isn't, as I have it in my calendar on my iPad specifically stating our appointment is at 11:30am. She had my husband sit down and she cut his hair. While she was cutting her hair two men walked in and she asked if they had appointments and the one man said, "Yes, 11:30am." I wondered why they would schedule two appointments for the same time when only one person is working? The other man said, no he didn't and she asked him if he could come back about 12:30, and he left. She finished Dave's hair and the man with the 11:30am appointment went to the chair and I assumed she would do me when she was finished with him. She worked on his cut for about 5-10 minutes and then she said to me, "Your appointment was yesterday and you didn't show up, so I can't do your hair today. I very nicely but firmly told her NO, My appointment was NOT yesterday as I had a class at Allina at 11am and there was NO way I would have scheduled an hair cut for the same time. I use a calendar function with notifications on my iPad and it keeps things straight. Because we had another similar exchange with this same woman 4-5 weeks ago over appointment time I made a very specific note in my calendar that we were to arrive on the 2nd of August a few minutes before 11:30. We walked out after getting my husband and his walker organized and I totally forgot about paying. She followed us outside and after getting him in the car I took care of paying; I had absolutely no thought of not paying, I just had my next appointment on my mind. Two times and that is enough for me. Either she forgets to write down the times when someone calls as she is busy; or she is just a poor business woman, I don't know. I know I will never go back to this shop again. I have never had this type of a problem in my lifetime. I scheduled appointments for physicians, surgeons and specialists for over 20 years using a computer system and happy to say we had no problems like this. Horrible experience. Thank you.
