The good: don't judge a book by its cover because their catfish po-boy was amazing. Piping hot and tasted fresh. I loved it when I put that Crystal Hot Sauce they have on the table. I love the name and the suggestion that it is something special. It isn't. This is a dirty Louisiana gas station with video poker. Normally, it is downright filthy, but on its best day, when it's video poker customers aren't there, it's probably just smoky, dirty, and gross. Every time we drive by it I make my family go in and we act like we are walking into the Bellagio. I'm giving it three stars for the experience, not that it's a good experience, but in this day and age, an experience every red blooded American should have and maybe appreciate... maybe. read more

Diesi's is a great place to stop for gas and snacks. Located at the Henderson exit off of I-10, this is my go to stop when headed to Lafayette or Texas. The station has plenty of pumps and clean restrooms. The station is also a truck stop, but is well designed so cars and trucks don't have to co-mingle. The inside shop area sells alligator heads, hot sauce and cookbooks in addition to standard gas station fare. There is also what looks like a pizza place, but I haven't tried it. Apparently the owner/founder of this station was a legislator from the area and there are several signed photos of famous La politicians near the restrooms. read more

They have a sign on 10 a few miles away letting you know that they have clean restrooms - they advertise on this point. My female traveling companion took note of this and this was the last stop we were going to take before getting back in to Houston. The men's restroom was the filthiest, dirtiest, grimiest, smelliest, and worst men's restroom I used on the road for this trip from Texas to Florida. That sign on the interstate was a filthy no-good liar. I'm a cis male so I did not enter the lady's restroom. My female traveling companion will yelp separately about her experience with the lady's, though I am led to believe it was perhaps slightly cleaner than the men's. I would not stop here on purpose if you are a man. If you are a lady, read the reviews from your fellow ladies and use your best judgment. read more

We stopped here at Diesi's Capitol, on June 25th, 2018, so I could use the restroom and pick up a few snacks for my children, ages 18 and 5. Being that one of my kids are over the age of 18 , I left them safely in my vehicle, locked with the air conditioning on. The bathroom facility was being cleaned while I was in there, using the facilities, but I was not too bothered by it. I like a clean bathroom as well as the next person. (And as I said, I did not bring my small child in with me.) I was fairly pleased with what was offered to be purchased inside this convenience store eatery / gas station. HOWEVER, I was disgusted, ANGERED, HEARTBROKEN, as a mother: with how a young girl was treated during my experience/ observation at this place of business. After making my purchases, and getting ready to leave the store, I noticed a young girl maybe two years older than my own 5 year old daughter standing outside the store bare-footed, and alone and noticeably scared, peering into the store window. I asked her: "sweetie, is your mama r daddy in the store, don't you need to go in with them?" The young girl informed me that she is not allowed inside with them, and that the store policy had already been told to her very clearly by a woman inside, that since she didn't have shoes, she had to wait outside. The little girl looked very scared, and rightly so. It only takes a few seconds for someone to snatch her up and she'd be gone and no one would be able to take that back. Not to mention that her feet were burning and it was a hundred degrees outside in south Louisiana in June. Therefore I went inside the store very calmly and politely and asked the store clerk that I came to first, if someone was making this young girl wait outside, due to their store policy. I was informed very abruptly that their store policy is cut and dry and that everyone must have shoes and shirts to come in the store. Another employee walked over and tried to rationalize it to me saying it was for everyone's protection, and then the first employee began to get loud with me about how she was NOT going to be allowed in, and the policy was not going to change. I returned their abruptness and informed them that she is a child and then it would be on their conscience if she is abducted raped or murdered. They returned my comments by saying that it is my job as her mother to make sure she is safe. I let them know that I am not even her mother, but that I know what they're doing to this child is wrong. I want the general public to know that this gas station and eatery cares more about their policies and then about the welfare of a small child. And in my book that is dead wrong! read more

Definitely is a decent place to make a pit stop on your long journey up and down I-10. Bathrooms were not spotless, but by no means near filthy. Customer service was frienly and prices reasonable for a convinece store. Plenty of cool local items like the wooden fleur de lis rocking chair located by the door when you walk into the store. Many unique items in the shop that will entertain the little ones while waiting on that restroom. read more

We all have favorite places to stop for gas and snacks when we're on the road, and this is one of mine. I love everything about it especially the sign of the Capitol building. They also have cool Louisiana souvenirs, the best of which is a little cast iron skillet spoon rest with the outline of the state in the center. I'm glad I bought it when I first saw it because there were none there when I passed by there recently. They also have La. foodstuffs like hot sauce etc. Check it out. This is our go to rest stop everytime we travel! They have the best burgers and Cajun fries and very cheap! I like mine with grilled onions! The ladies there are very nice and friendly! Definitely a hidden gem for some fresh cheeseburgers!!! read more

This is our favorite stop we even go out of route to come get the cheeseburgers. As you may have guess we're truck drivers. I love stopping here the food and the staff make me feel like I'm at home. When we have time to sit in the restaurant to enjoy our food I love how the staff seem to know everyone who come in. In the mornings several of the locals come in for morning coffee and just sit relax and tell stories. A bit of Cajun country as I think of it. Everyone I have meet here staff and customers make me feel welcome. There's several places within walking distance to visit. There is a little flea market across the street that has plenty to look at, I've purchased a few charms there. Plus there is a casino that is right next door with nice folks too. As for the review about the restrooms being dirty, I've never seen them that way. The have always been clean. The whole store is clean and the folks take pride in keeping it that way. I would suggest to stop in and sit a spell. Enjoy some good food and soak up some local atmosphere. If you have a cold have the girls put a little extra spice on your burger.
