The company started a new billing cycle on 1-8-2023 and informed me of the charges on 12-12-2023. They included a $78 fee for cable TV services and a $21 charge for TV broadcast fees. I told them that all of the equipment was returned so there should be no TV related charges. They insisted that because they offer TV streaming over the Internet that the charges were legitimate and that they must be paid in full. I refuse to pay for services/rentals/fees that were not rendered and they would not take any action to resolve. Clearly this is criminal in nature. You cannot bill someone knowingly that a service was not rendered and use a hypothetical reason that one "could" use their services over the Internet while refusing to remove the charges. This type of activity is really fit for a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) lawsuit. I have filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General. The idea that they could force TV services without equipment to watch TV is absurd. The excuse that one "could" stream their content is absurd and they do not even care.

In a similar situation years ago, my husband gave Charter 'authorization' to let me change the account without his permission. We found out today, that the exception to that policy is 'password changing'. Really? And do I follow one step behind him as well? Considering I have ALL of the account information including four digit pin, address, zip, social security, etc., it is NOT a matter of protecting our account for security purposes. That's an insult to even use that as an excuse. They weren't helpful nor were they the least bit interested in resolving our issue. Due to a regulated industry, they continue to get away with horrible customer service and horrible policies. Deregulate them like the phone companies and things will change real fast. Calling Dish and Direct TV next!

I am an essential service provider that have been without phones. I am unable to communicate with clients and vendors which including scheduling appointments and ordering medical supplies or drugs. I have been on the phone for over 12 hours today with Charter and no one has been able to correct the situation. I do not know what economic damages this has caused my small business while also dealing with Covid

Ok, where do I start. There is not a Yelp for the main headquarters of Charter so this is a company…read morethat works with and for charter and I believe the same company that has been to our home on twelve different occasions. There is an actual Facebook page dedicated to the horrendous service at Charter. Seeing as we are restricted, like many, in who we can have as our service provider for internet we are unfortunately at the mercy of this awful, awful company!!! It's too long to explain the NIGHTMARE that's been our service for a year now. We have had no compensation not one apology and still our service stinks! We have a huge fluorescent cable that goes from our front yard and literally wraps around our poor neighbors home and perhaps 20 small colored flags for SEVEN months!! We are at a loss? They have stated "we have exhausted all of our options at this point". What company runs in this matter? Has customer service been completely ruined by high up, greedy corporations with little to no sympathy for their customers who pay a bill yet have little to no service? Techs come out constantly, big bucket trucks, bright lights at 2am beaming into our home, three new routers and still nothing! It's odd, I made a complaint once about a local hospital that's rated I believe 2 stars and received nothing until I was emailed by a news reporter who was finally doing a story about these hospitals in my area and magically I had a representative contact me from the hospital. Charter on the other hand won't even give us so much as a pis- off on the phone, I would respect them more if they did. Then I would know they are being honest about what they provide which is nothing but stress and an ongoing battle to remove giant cables, flags and fix out service. I do apologize Charter I know it's tiresome when customers actually want what they pay for :(

Terrible Customer Service!!!…read more I recently (3 years ago) had a name change, and this company accepts my payment every month under the new name by the way, but refuses to change the name on my account. I have called them several times requesting the change, and each time they promise to change it. However, month after month and year after year I still have this old name on my account. Today, I called customer service to request that they cancel my account due to not being able to change my name. The lady I spoke with was extremely rude, and has no business being in customer service... I then requested to speak to a manager, the manager was a bit better at customer service and offered me a $20 credit for my trouble, but I will only get that after she monitors my account to be sure that I do not cancel. So for my trouble I get spoken down to, and get some credit dangled over my head like a dog begging for a treat.... Really Charter... Really? This is how you conduct business??? Now mind you, their name change policy is extremely archaic, there are only two ways to do it... you can only send it by snail mail or fax of which is super inconvenient for this digital world... but okay!!! You are a company that supposedly provides the best in TECHNOLOGY and are the MOST up to DATE... and you cannot receive an email? I will be shopping for a better more up to date company who cares about their customers.

They state the problem is at the pole. There seems to be 0 communication within the company between techs and maintenance, customer service just wants me to reset my modem 700 times. Gross negligence and incompetence, if there wasn't a monopoly in my area for internet service providers I would have switched long ago. I work from home twice a week and this has been directly impacting my job performance. Spectrum does not cover lost wages instead offer an extremely generous $25 off my monthly bill. I don't want your charity, just the service I pay for. If you have an option I'd recommend staying away from charter (spectrum) whatever they are calling themselves these days.
