I called ahead and talked with Seth about an issue I was having with my gaming PC. My All-in-one liquid cooler from the larger big box store in the area was defective. We replaced it only to find that the power cords had been changed out from the big box store working in it... which then burned up the new fan and aio cooler. It was a MESS. I have never had this many issues with any unit I had built in the past or with the big box retailer who was selling the components. After some consulting, returns/exchanges, Seth and I ordered a different brand AIO. He installed it, clean installed windows, did some cable management, and got my computer back up and running. He did much more labor due to the issues that arose throughout the process, but never raised his price above his maximum estimate. It was an incredible experience. My MacBook Pro died and a couple different repair spots told me they could not help. I called Apples and Oranges and explained my issue and they sent me an email with a predictive quote for the service. Came in, dropped my computer off after they ran diagnostics with me there and 2 1/2 business days later picked it up. It works perfectly and they even cleaned it up. Sometime last year, I managed to delete a folder off of my old external hard drive. This folder was full of images of artwork I've created over about the past 15 years- photos and scans of physical work as well as dozens and dozens of files of digital artwork. I had data recovery done at a different place, and a small handful of files were recovered, but nowhere near all I'd lost. A few months ago, I took it to Apples and Oranges, where we discovered the drive was on its last legs. I didn't look at it until a few days ago because I feared the worst, but... they recovered everything. A decade and a half's worth of blood, sweat, and tears. I went here to check my computer for issues since it was running slow and having other problems. The people here did not find anything wrong but recommended that I upgrade my hard drive to a SSD, which I agreed to. It was a 4 year old computer with a small dent in the corner, but there were no missing pieces. When I got the computer back, a chunk of the enclosure was missing. I have taken my enclosure off and put it back on before with no damage to my device. This tells me that they did not take apart and put together my computer carefully. I do not recommend this business if you value how your computer looks and how solidly it is put together. read more

This is a great place to go. My laptop charger kept shorting and I had no idea why. It turns out, at a previous visit to another place, they had left a loose nail in that kept shorting my motherboard. The person in charge opened my laptop up, fixed it in less than 5 minutes, and it was all good in no time. (And he charged me nothing for it!) The person i spoke to ( Raul) said he couldn't ethically and honestly take my money when he was aware of an apple extended service program for this "known issue". I heard about this place from a friend and took in a corrupted external hard drive to get the data restored. I spoke to several people and everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They even gave me advice for better alternatives to the external hard drive I had. It was my fault that I didn't have the data on the hard drive backed up, but the staff were all very kind and accommodating. I called and went in many times to ask for updates on the status of the recovery and each time, my questions were answered and they went above and beyond to help me. Walked in, immediately smelled weed. I came in for a $75 one hour repair. I found out later there was some random guy making advertisements not affiliated with the company. An hour turned into 7 days of stress. I had to wait so long, that my phone progressively got worse. Really really rude incompetent staff. DON'T DO IT!! Their version of "keeping all my data" was destroying the entire directory structure, losing all the metadata (e.g., date and time stamps for last modified), and putting hundreds of files in a single "Apples and Oranges" directory, all with identical time stamps (the date and time they finished screwing up). If they could restore my computer to the state it was in when I brought it to them, virus and all, I'd take that. If I had the time to completely restore all my programs and files, I wouldn't have taken it to them in the first place. read more

Had a recent computer failure and required expert intervention. These guys quickly diagnosed the problem, outlined how they would fix it, and quoted a very reasonable price. The work required one follow-up session, which they did without charge. The only reason I didn't give a five star review is that I had to call and contact them for updates more than I would have liked. We entrust computer repair experts with our data. Without our computers, we are at a bit of a loss. I know they told me they would call when they had updates, but a little more attention to the customer service aspect of the work would go a very long way. My 2015 MacBook Air's keyboard and trackpad became unresponsive, so I needed some help to find out what happened and what to do in order to fix it. The employees here were really helpful, and after they told me what the problem was, and how much it would cost. They told me to take it to the Apple Store just to keep my options open, and see how much they would charge me. It ended up being much more expensive at the Apple Store, so I brought it back, and the piece needed to fix my laptop came very quickly, and they fixed it within a couple days. (Bonus: they even replaced a key I had missing on my keyboard!!) Very happy with the customer service, and my computer is working great!! read more

I brought in my old 2011 macbook pro to get a quote about upgrading to solid state drive because I can't stand the slowness any longer. It turned out that the price of changing battery and to a SSD is much less than other quotes I received from other stores (not to mention the very expensive Apple Store). The service is like lightening. Brought in a few days later when all parts arrived. Got my "new" laptop in the same day. I am totally satisfied with Apples and Oranges and would recommend them to anyone who has laptop problems. A side note, I think upgrading your drive is really money-saving and eco-friendly.
