I can't speak about the oral surgeon himself/herself, but I can say that it was very difficult to get a hold of the office. No one would answer the phone or call back until I had to physically go to the office to let them know I've been trying to get a hold of them. Then the scheduler who called back was kind of rude and still tried to push off scheduling me. Needless to say, I called a different oral surgeon in brentwood whose office staff answered their phone right away and got me a consult in 2 days. The other office staff understood the urgency with regard to my tooth and showed some compassion toward me, which seemed to be lacking here. Hopefully, this doesn't happen often. read more

I came in for wisdom teeth removal of all 4. I was scared and overthinking everything. Let me tell you the staff is friendly and Dr D did a phenomenal job at explaining what he was doing before I went under for my procedure. I came in at 1040am got seen at 11am and at noon I woke up completely mind blown. After iv placement they asked me to let them know when I feel an anti-anxiety medication them they'll sedate me. I thought I was still waiting! I woke up and the nurse goes "okay, you're all done" wait what! No way, no pain or discomfort just numb and shocked how quick everything was. My 12 year old daughter had to get 2 teeth pulled under general anesthesia since one of them were impacted. I was extremely nervous for her, but Dr. Deragopian explained the process to us step by step. He answered every question and did not rush through the process at all. On the day of the surgery, I was such a worried mom that he even allowed me to stay in the room until she was put under - which I don't think they normally do. The procedure was quick and she was back in my car in about an hour. Her recovery process was pretty fast as well and she was back to her normal self by that evening. BEWARE this office charged my insurance and me for an X-ray they didn't take, can we all say fraud, it was provided by my regular dentist. I ended up writing a letter and Dr Deragopian called me on receipt of my letter, and admitted they didn't take the X-ray. He refunded my money. His staff was super helpful with advice to stop the pain I was in, and fully understand my concern about a diagnosis. Dr. Deragopian extracted my daughter's wisdom teeth over the winter break while she was home from college and we had a great experience from start to finish. The office staff (thank you Trina!) worked with me to squeeze her into the schedule, which was tough because the end of the year is such a busy time. But two of my daughter's teeth were impacted and she had been in pain during finals, so I was desperate to get this done over the winter break. Trina graciously found space and was great about communicating with me. The doctor did the procedure in record time, which meant my daughter was not under anesthesia for as long as other family members had been for their wisdom teeth. I think this made her recovery much easier, because she had no problem keeping soft foods down and minimal swelling. We iced as directed, with plenty of ibuprofen and it worked great. Her follow-up visit went well. She still had a bit of discomfort, but by day 11 post-surgery is back to normal. We are very grateful and would highly recommend this office. read more

This place is in a quiet shopping center. The waiting room is very small and chairs were not comfortable. The day we went the staff was running half hour late. The reason why I gave 5 stars is the staff is very professional and nice. The surgery was not on myself just to be clear but it was on my boyfriend. Normally these procedures takes a long time but it only took about 45 minutes. They very fast and they explained the procedures very well. The place was really clean and my boyfriend said the doctor did a good job since he did not feel any pain. Overall very good place. read more

Referred by my primary dentist for wisdom tooth extraction, I must say I anticipated a less than pleasant experience; however, the staff here proved me wrong :). From appointment scheduling, to insurance verification, consultation, etc. everything was easy and smooth thus far. The ladies in office were super friendly and prompt with service. My actual extraction procedure is scheduled for a later date but I must say I am honestly not as worried, I know I'll be in good hands. The doctor was very detailed and thorough with his explanation of the procedure. The ladies did great at explaining preparation and follow-up. Lastly, but certainly not least the cost is affordable. Horrible horrible!!! I took my son here to get a consult on wisdom teeth. First the office was not organized at all then they wanted to charge me $800 after insurance. There computers were down and they said they would call me for an appointment, never called so I called and never got a call back. I finally made an appointment with someone else who was half the price and the best office staff and Doctor. Then this doctor had the nerve to charge me my $15 co pay after he used my consultation fees when we didn't even get a call back. I called to talk to them about the bill and shocking no one ever called me back instead they sent me another bill demanding I pay the $15. So unprofessional and rude!!! DO NOT use this office!!! I will start off by saying that I had a good experience with Dr. Deragopian. He was very patient and kind and answered all of my questions. I felt very comfortable with him. But his office is very poorly run! I had a tooth extracted over a year ago and I was told to wait 3 months then call in for an appointment to put in the implant. After the 3 months I had left at least 4 voicemails for them to schedule an appointment and no one ever called me back. Then about 2 months ago I got a call from someone asking me why I hadn't called in for my appointment. I let her know that I left multiple voicemails and all she said was that was weird. So I make an appointment but I wanted to confirm what the cost would be and how I go about getting a prescription for something to relax me so that I don't need to be put to sleep. She says she will have to call me back and she never called back. I called again a week later and the person on the phone said she would have to check and call me back, she never called back. Then last Friday I called again since my appointment is coming up and again, the person said they would have to call me back and they never called! I'm so frustrated that I thought why am I putting myself through this? I'm going to call and cancel. And now they aren't answering their phones so I need to keep calling back. Horrible customer service and I didn't even tell you about the scheduling mix up they had on the day of my extraction! Ugh! Update*** I'm trying to call and cancel but they now keep picking up the phone and immediately hanging up. This is insane! read more

I was referred to Dr. Deragopian from my dentist for lower wisdom teeth removal. I previously had oral surgery with anesthesia complications and was extremely nervous. The doctor and his entire office was kind and put my anxiety to ease. Dr. Deragopian was extremely kind and patient when talking over my previous experience and answered all of my questions. The front desk ladies were also accommodating when bumping up my surgery because of pain I was having. The procedure went flawlessly and my follow up appointment was quick and efficient; even after 2 weeks, I called with questions about lingering jaw pain and they were able to fit me in 20 minutes later. My 2 boys went to Dikran Deragopian to have their wisdom teeth removed. My oldest son went to the scheduled appointment and was amazed the Dikran kept him waiting for 20 minutes while he played a game of Bejeweled...unbelievable! At least play your game out of the view of your patients. The more offensive issue had to do with how he runs his business. When we originally went to have the consultation, we provided our insurance information. The office manager quoted us the price for having both of the kids wisdom teeth removed. We paid everything in advance based on the quote. The Manager didn't do her job effectively when reviewing our insurance. Generally, a review is done of your insurance to accurately quote the work. Low and behold, we receive an additional bill of $70 dollars 45 days after the work was done. As it turns out, the dentist already did the X-ray and the insurance company will only pay for one per year. Had Deragopians's Office Manager done her job, she would have asked the dentist for the X-rays recognizing that the information was needed for the surgery. But instead, we paid an extra portion after we already paid $700 up front for the work. I called the office and spoke to the Manager and asked why they didn't review the insurance and contact the dentist for the X-ray. She said, usually we do, but we didn't this time. Oh...that makes sense...sure. It was a screw you Mr. Customer fee. She indicated that generally, if the dentist forgets to forward the X-rays, they will take them for free. I said, so you do it for free, if they forget to send it...well...don't it make sense that they forgot to send it? but you're charging me? Stay away from this business! Janece at the front desk was fantastic getting me scheduled the same day. She was kind, compassionate and explained what would happen when I arrived. Dr. Deragopian was hands down the best Dr. I have been to. He was through explaining what was going to happen and why I needed to have my wisdom tooth out. He gave me my options and information and answered every question I had with positivity and clarity. In the end I decided to get my tooth out that very day. The ladies who helped were Tina and Bonnie. Both women had the best bedside manner, were kind and supportive the whole time. I will never go anywhere else now that I have been to this amazing Drs office with such incredible staff. Absolutely terrible experience. I don't write often, but the experience I had was incomprehensible. If you plan on getting work done here, don't. I have literally been fighting with them for a year about mysterious charges to my account that get sent to my insurance company. Upon review of their treatment plans, my insurance reps have shown that not only are were some of the treatments not necessary - they were being billed with different codes that ultimately just added costs. I kept getting bills after I received zeros balance notices with added on charges and they were calling them "adjustments". Someone please tell me how they can bill you and have you pay, then ask for more money months after the surgery? That make no sense. The facility is questionable at best. Dark, cramped, dusty and there was very obvious staining and water leaks on the ceiling even in surgery rooms. There were also stacks of paperwork cluttering the office and it smelled like there was mold. The staff is less than stellar - extremely sour attitudes. Terrible with follow up if you have any questions about billing. They claimed that there were hardware and software issues that affected their billing and threatened to push me to collections for an accounting error that they had, that they never informed me about! If you need oral surgery- avoid this place at all costs. You will regret the months of headaches that come from it! read more

I have very dense jawbone x-rays show bone as pure white and roots on my back teeth go very deep! Almost completely through. My dentist told me my back tooth that was split was going to be a difficult extraction and recommend Dr. Deragopian. I've had one other extraction that took almost an hour and was very unpleasant at a different doctor. This extraction was flawless, I could tell it took great effort to remove but he was done in less than twenty minutes with minimal pain for my recovery. Don't hesitate to use this Dr. He is awesome! He has since removed all four of my daughters wisdom teeth with similar results. Fast healing minimal damage. He is definitely our families new oral surgeon and i would not go to anyone else! I wish he was around 35 years ago when i had my wisdoms removed, that was a total nightmare! read more

I love this office. Nothing but comfort from the entire team. I have never had anesthesia before and was terrified. The staff was great at helping me calm down and was by my side the entire time. I feel like if I were to ever move, I would have to come back here if I ever needed anything else done because I know I can trust them. Dr. D. explained everything as he did it (for the IV) and walked me through everything beforehand for my post op instructions. Would give 1 star if possible. Went in for a consult for wisdom teeth removal. Was very uncomfortable with the doctor, Dikran, who kept us waiting over a hour after our appointment to see us. He completely ignored I was with my daughter, who was a minor, when addressing her. Looked at her for 2 minutes, no X-rays and tried to schedule her for surgery. I had to ask him to even look in her mouth! We were so uncomfortable with him, I refused to allow my daughter to be in his care. I took her and left. Fast forward 6 months when I received a bill for $190. I called many times, left messages, sent emails. All of which went not returned. I finally got in touch with someone at month 8, and demanded she talk with the doctor as we were there 2 minutes and they should have billed my insurance. She called back- with attitude- and told me he would discount to $150. To put this to bed, I said fine I would call back and make payment. I called the next day, told them I was calling to pay, was out on hold for over 20 minutes and they never came back. I called again, no answer. I called again, and left a message 2 weeks later. No return call. Call today, again, Tina answers the phone and proceeds to tell me they sent it to collections. WHAT? She then refused to tell me what agency and how to get in touch with them, and would call me back. Beware! This office does not answer calls, the doctor cares only about money, the office staff is rude and they don't properly bill! It's a scam. Best experience ever. The staff is helpful, kind and caring. They follow up with you too. They even rushed a consult because my son had to be at work. He had four wisdom teeth pulled. Although they were running behind, they make up for it in service and caring. They even gave him a cream for where they were going to put the IV so it didn't hurt, put him under and numbed him. They were thorough with instructions too. The receptionist even got his mind off his fear by talking to him about movies. No better place. read more

I got my wisdom teeth surgery at this office and the first thing I thought when I woke up from the surgery was "I have to give them 5 stars on Yelp"one you I was still waking up from the surgery at this time . But this actually true. When I walked into the office before I was really nervous, considering I had never had a surgery before. We talked to the receptionist who was very comforting and very nice. She learned I was scared of needles and told the surgery staff to cover them before I walked back. The entire staff is very pleasant to work with and very comforting. The one time I thought they were going to follow through, their systems went down. I'm a very busy person and my schedule is rarely open. This has been such an inconvenient experience for me. This office gave my mom and I the best customer service from the minute I picked up the phone to make her an appointment. Tina answered and listened to me vent about my mothers insurance and how they were making it difficult getting my moms tooth extracted & how the dentists offices were booked up for weeks ect.....she knew my mom was in horrible pain and was able to squeeze my mom in Wednesday (I called Monday)my mom was so happy that they were going to see her. They accept care credit which makes it easier for the uninsured and for people who need more money for their bill. I took my mom in and they were helpful with paperwork and answered any questions we may have had. The dr came in and was very friendly and made my mom feel comfortable & at ease. My mom is in a wheelchair And they didn't make my mom move around from chair to chair either. She was able to remain in the same seat from the x-Ray to the procedure. This is a good office, friendly and they make you feel comfortable, I know we all get the creeps when we go to see the dentist or a dr so why not go somewhere where the staff make you feel at ease? read more

My teenager needed her wisdom teeth removed and we were refered to Dr Derigopian. While sitting waiting to be seen another teenager was there because she had her wisdom teeth removed and had a horrible infection I was reassured by the staff it was very rare that the other.girl got an infection. As we waiting for the Consutaltion 3 hours had past. Eventually they saw my daughter and the surgery was set Unfortunately a few days after seeing Dr. Derigopian my daughter developed a severe infection in her gums! I don't believe in Coincidence I knew she got the infection from his office she never had any problems before seeing him. I made their office aware and cancelled the surgery. They then had the nerve to send me a Bill For $800.00 for not going through with the surgery. I urge anyone who is thinking of going to Derigopian to reconsider I left out the Dr. In his name for a reason, that is a title That is earned. Be Aware of him there are to many great Doctors that deserve your business because they care. read more
