We've used Dillabaugh's for several issues over the past few years, including new carpeting and refinishing of wood floors. Our experiences with them have been uniformly excellent. So when a large window blind in our home began to malfunction, I was happy to see Dillabaugh's listed as a distributor for that brand. I stopped into Dillabaugh's, and explained what I needed. I was given the card of one of their Window Covering Specialists: Aaron Tabor. That evening I emailed Aaron explaining my blinds issue. I heard back from him almost immediately. We were able to set up an appointment for him to come out to my house and take a look at the troublesome blind within two days. Aaron came out this afternoon. He could not have been more professional and friendly! He took down the blind, opened it up, and patiently explained to and showed me what structures inside the blind mechanism had failed. He then gave me a couple of options of addressing the issue, one of which we were able to do then and there. The blind now works great! While he was here, I asked him about one other window covering issue I had. He took a look, and told how it was likely that I could correct this myself. He gave me great instructions on how to access that blind's mechanism to do so. In short, Aaron Tabor represented exactly the kind of repair specialist you'd hope to have when needed. I replaced some carpet from a box store when I had Dillabaugh's come and lay carpet for me. What a great experience!! Loved everything about the transaction. And the carpet is so much nicer than the box store material. The salesman, the installers, the front desk - everyone is helpful, friendly and efficient. We walked into Dillabaugh's 30 minutes prior to closing in the middle of September, frustrated after losing another contractor, and asked them to remodel our entire house and have it completed within 8 weeks time. Christine went right to work and within thirty minutes we had chosen carpet, LVP, countertops and backsplash! 8 weeks later our home was transformed from builders grade to beautiful! We hired Dillabaugh's to install wool carpeting in a downstairs basement bedroom and bedroom closet. I really dislike writing a poor, but feel I have no choice at this point after being unable to resolve my complaint with the company. We paid over $5,000 for a relatively small job, and justified it as having peace of mind that we'd have a high quality product and install completed. Unfortunately it has been just the opposite. As you'll see from the photos below, the install was rushed and incredibly sloppy. Areas of the threshold at the entrance of the bedroom and closet were cut jagged and loose. Nearly all areas around the baseboards (which we double checked with a Dillabaugh's employee about height set prior to installing) are loose and not even connected, with large gaps of concrete visible. When I contacted Dillabaugh's Representatives to describe my dissatisfaction and concerns with the install, they at first responded cordially, assuring me that a manager would be out and they would make things right. (which I have via text confirmations, as well as them agreeing that the install was poor) I've now dealt with 3 managers, 2 site visits, and a final response of "we can stretch your threshold to take care of those two areas, but we will not be correcting anything else. Your baseboards were set too high, and that is the problem." My question to Dillabaugh's has been this: 1. Why did your employee tell me to set the base where we did? 2. Why did your installer proceed with the install if you all knew the base was too high to begin with? 3. Baseboards aside, can you not see how sloppy and rushed the job was with no inspection on completion? (Installer just took off prior to being able to do a walk through) 4. Why are you not standing behind your service and employees and just making this right? All I have asked for is a small financial concession to partially cover my time and costs in hiring somebody to re-set the base, as it seems to be the most economical and efficient correction here. The resounding response has been that Dillabaugh's won't stand behind their contractors work and they "cannot go backwards in time" (Wayne's words, not mine) Seems logical, it's just a shame a large corporation isn't willing to do the right thing and keep customers. I will not be using Dillabaugh's again. read more

We contacted a few other companies with a turnaround time of 6 to 8 weeks, but after contacting Dillabaughs, I got a text right away from James wanting to know info about the install. Carpet was drug on road, did not fit in pickup. Dragging on the road made Holes in carpet. Installer ruined every seam. Carpet was replaced due to above issues. Speaker was dropped and dented, dented wood wrapped windows, walls were dented, doors scratched, hardwood floor scratched and dented... and now tackstrips wrong height and carpet SINKS. Management does not talk to each other. MANAGER AND INSTALLER THEY SENT OUT BOTH say tack strips need raised and that is looks horrible, Dillabaughs doesn't listen to their own people they send out and say it's fine, after installer and manager said how bad it looks. They say it will void warranty to put in correct tackstrips- GO FIGURE! Shaw said they need to install it correctly and that does NOT void the warranty. If they would do things correctly and quit damaging everything we would have nothing to complain about. They believe the carpet is done, even after their own quality control manager and installer came out and said how bad it's. Seems people are not happy with each other, communication sucks there, and installers are always being replaced. Buyer Beware- Go Anywhere else- it can't be worse. We are asking for correct height tackstrips so the carpet lays flat and doesn't dip and sink on the edges. Apparently even if the manager and installer agree with us how bad it looks and Shaw-- Dillabaughs REFUSES to do the right thing and install correctly. read more

The experience with the company started out so well. I felt so confident that I'd be taken care of very well. That didn't happen because the company had my address and phone number recorded incorrectly, so movers finally showed up an hour late because of difficulty of finding me. Next day when the installers were to show up and waiting 2 hours I finally called to find out the installer wasn't available after all, but they had found someone to install the next day. Same problem wrong address and phone number so difficulty finding me. It all got completed and looked well, but there was a big rush to finish installing so the movers would have time to move furniture back into place before the holiday weekend. I still do not know how they got the basic information wrong. I still have not had an apology from the company even though I left a message on their phone. Very disappointing when they were highly recommended to me. read more

Shoppers Beware!!! Worst customer service I've had in quite a while. They don't follow through - they don't return calls, never sent promised sample of carpet, after two weeks I called them to follow up, said it was in the mail. Now, a month later, still no sample received. They don't seem to care. I can't imagine how the sale and installation would have gone if I went with them - what a scary thought!!! I'd recommend you go to RC Willey, got quote, received sample 4 days later, placed order, excellent customer service, great choice of carpets, competitive prices, and even a rebate on purchase. Franklin Flooring was contracted by them to install, and did an excellent and professional installation. When someone shows you who they are, believe them. read more

I hired Dillabaugh's to replace the flooring on the first floor of my two story house. They sent out subcontractors to do the installation. The subcontractors arrived around 10am and left around 230pm every day. We had moved everything upstairs and I was working and living up there. I came down one day to ask why they were leaving so early and was told "because we want to be home with our families". I was cleaning downstairs every evening after work due to all the dust and debris, when I discovered that they had taken one of my tupperware containers out of my cabinet and were using it as a trowel bucket. The edge of the tupperware was ripped off. When I came downstairs another day, the face of my dishwasher was all scratched up. They used my hand towel in my downstairs bathroom to clean the floor, they dumped paint on my back lawn, the shavings from the saw that was on my front lawn killed a patch of the lawn, they dumped paint down the kitchen sink. I have photos of all of this and submitted them to the salesperson that sold me the floor. She promptly took care of all of it and replaced my dishwasher face and tupperware. Unfortunately, I have called this company again due to my floor being installed improperly and coming up in some places. A subcontractor was sent out and said he would have to get back to me because he felt the entire floor needed replacing. Next came the installation manager from Dillabaugh's who said that an area of the floor was not even and needed to be replaced, plus quarter round put on as trim. He, Larry, also informed me that he had fired that crew that installed my floor. Next came the workmen (another subcontractor) to do the repairs, the only problem is that they didn't know why they were at my house and had not brought any supplies with them (i.e. quarter round). I had them measure and make a list and sent them away to talk to Larry. I didn't hear back from Dillabaugh's and had to call them several times to get them to send someone out again. They scheduled it and then re-scheduled it a couple times. When they arrived, they told me they were only going to replace one board and install the quarter round trim. My floor was not installed properly, but instead of fixing it entirely, they fixed one board. I am disappointed. I would not hire Dillabaugh's again. I will find someone else to come out and install my floor properly. read more

Our business just had a remodel. Our office staff was so excited to get new carpet, they ripped out all of the old. We were desperate to have the carpet replaced as soon as possible. Angel at Dillabaugh's came out and measured quickly, found a roll of amazing carpet and had the installers here the next day after hours so we did not have to close our business. They installers were fast, accommodating and accurate. We were able to move our shelving while they were working and they finished it all in one fell swoop. Dillabaugh's has such a professional staff and they cared about us. Thank you for making our life so much better!!! read more

Service and quality couldn't be any better. We wanted to get a new rug for our home and decided to get a high quality carpet bound to the size and shape we wanted. The Dillabaugh's staff did a fantastic job explaining the difference of fiber and quality and the entire process was very simple/enjoyable. Even the gentleman who delivered the rug, Brent Rose, was very kind and helpful in laying it out in our home. Thanks for the help and the beautiful rug/carpet. I really struggled with this review. I love my flooring, it's gorgeous and the crew that installed it was amazing! They were so kind and did a fantastic job! However, that cannot make up for the service, confusion, and ridiculous hoops we had to jump through to get the flooring finished. The communication between the employees and management is terrible. No one talks to anyone there. My husband removed our baseboards saving us about $650.00 which was great but Dillabaugh's attempted to charge us that again. They left several messages saying we owed them for the removal they never performed and we even had photos and recorded conversations with our rep to prove it. Eventually the supervisor looked through the old notes and realized he was wrong but it took several conversations for him to figure it out. Then the transition pieces we're supposed to be all installed the same day... well, they weren't. It took about 10 weeks for them to get the TWO pieces in and they we're miss-matched! One is gray and the other a gray-beige color. It's so frustrating. My husband decided it was better to accept the crappy, incorrect transition than fight with them and wait for another 10 weeks to possibly get the right product in. The entire experience was like that. We won't be returning to have the rest of our flooring completed through Dillabaugh's and I would recommend you look elsewhere too. read more

I found the showroom to be well organized and the sales staff to be very pleasant, educated and they took my project seriously. We ordered carpet samples and selected one. She also priced out to sand and refinish my birch hardwood floors. I financed the project for 6 months, zero interest and the install went smoothly. They even helped to arrange the moving company for me and move my refrigerator. The install crew were polite and efficient. In October 2019 my home flooded. I went to Dillabaughs and explained my situation. I had a insurance credit to replace my flooring. However I wanted to upgrade so that I wouldn't have the previous problems. I was shown a coretec vinyl flooring made by Shaw. Was told it is water resistant and scratch resistant. So I'm thinking it's the same as my laminate flooring but better. Wouldn't get water damage and wouldn't scratch. I paid the upgrade fee. The day it was installed it scratched!! This floor is so easy to scratch there's scratches everywhere! We moved furniture like the installer suggested. His initial stress about it scratching worried me. You can take a key to the previous laminate flooring which was 50% less the price of this vinyl and it would not scratch. You can scratch this vinyl floor with a chair!!! I immediately filed a claim with Dillabaughs. A gentleman came out and stated that he had never seen this floor scratch like it was. Stated must be a bad batch. Told us Shaw would be out and either they will replace the sections of scratches or completely redo our flooring. This is what we wanted as we were extremely disappointed! We spent roughly 5k on this floor! We were told it could be a couple months before hearing from someone at Shaw. The holidays were in full swing so I was okay with that. In March I called the nampa store several times with no call back. Today I called the main office in Boise. Talked to the claims department and was told our claim was closed! Shaw would not come look at the floor. They would offer repair sections at cost and installation OUT OF MY POCKET!!?? Are you kidding me!? Not only was I told incorrect information when the floor was sold to me but was told incorrect information from the Dillabaughs inspector! Then on top of it all was not ONCE contacted! Now it's my responsibility to contact cortec but I don't have much hope. So basically I spent roughly 5-6k on a floor I HATE! This is in our entire downstairs of our home! And now I have to just deal with it. I will never go to this business again and will be sure to tell anyone who asks to stay clear. read more

New flooring, finally! 25 year warranty....unless you move a dryer and it tears the flooring which is less than one week old. Oh good, the installer can fix it and cost me only $75 rather than the $150 through the store. What is the 25 year warranty? Really, it's only weak spot is tearing? They came and measured, they saw it was going in a laundry area. Think they might have mentioned this? Who picks up a washer or dryer to move it? No one! You walk it or you scoot it. I don't care if I have to go to Oregon to get the rest of the flooring and I have a whole house left to do, I'm certainly not giving them any more money. read more

Wow, we thought this long time firm would be a good bet to use for our addition and installation of new hardwood flooring. We were wrong. We do have a new floor, but we found them to be less than completely honest and very hard to work with. Not only did we not get a good final product, but after admitting to their own mistake in applying the wrong product to our floor, which was so dark, they have re-sanded it 3 times and it's still bleeding through on our floor, especially in the corners and sides or our dining area. They are wanting to re-sand a 4th time, but we were so tired of being out of our home, that we just ask them to cut the price in half and we would live with the problem. Also, they walked on our carpet after being on the fresh stained floor and tried to blame it on us, even though we were not even in the house for several hours following the application. We also spotted the soiled carpets as soon as we returned. At that point, they sent the lead guy out to our house and proceeded to blame us for their mistake.. Also, we had an area that was lighter than the rest of the floor, and they then said "you spilled something on the floor". I blew up, as that was a total lie. I could go on, and we have pictures to show all of this, but my final thought is "STAY AWAY FROM DILLABUAGHS, at least A GUY NAMED Kelley". They have offered us a 33% discount, which is a firm admission to their poor workmanship, I had asked for 50%. (plus clean our carpets they had walk on with stain, and confirm in writing we still had at least one more sanding in our existing floor for future care, which they have done to their credit) . read more

Mark Crumley is typical used car salesman, misrepresents product, does not give customer pertinent information, does not honor warranty, is always LATE, 1-2 hours, customer has to call looking for him. VERY disorganized, destroys paperwork without notifying customer. Denies actions took place. Turns things around so it's the customer's fault. NEVER use them!! My wife and I recently had two rooms re-carpeted, new vinyl installed in a large kitchen/dining area, new kitchen laminate installed, and vinyl tile put in a finished basement bathroom and laundry area. Our experience with Dino, our sales representative, and Dillabaugh's was uniformly pleasant and professional. Dino is always prompt, courteous and knowledgeable about the various products. The installers were prompt, hard-working and skillful. (Our new laminate, for example, has a seam in it that you are hard pressed to see unless you already know it is there.) We are going to redo our flooring in the finished basement in the fall and look forward to working with Dino and Dillabaugh's again. read more

This is my review of the service received from Dillabaugh's Flooring America Hardwood division and granite shop in Boise. The sales representative that we primarily worked with was Karen Jahn. Our project was ambitious, we needed a whole new kitchen layout designed around removing a wall between our old kitchen and living room with new cabinets, granite counter and bar tops, tile backsplash, and new hardwood flooring in the living room to tie in with the 20-year-old oak floor in the old kitchen and dining room. This review is for the wood floor, granite counter top, and tile backsplash portion of the project. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted this project to look like in the end, but we knew we had made some poor color choices in the past. We were looking for someone with confidence in helping us pick the right solutions in the right colors to make our project look beautiful and professional. Karen was the right person for us! Her personal charm combined with her extensive knowledge of what works and what doesn't, won us over at our first meeting. Karen came out to our home and took the time to get to know us and really understand what kind of look we were going for. She then led us through the maze of granite choices and gave us confidence when we were on the right path with our selection. The granite we chose was sold out of inventory locally and it was only Karen's reputation and relationship with Francini's that secured the pieces we needed from the next batch shipping in even though it was already presold. With the granite selection made she presented options for the back splash and paint colors for the walls. We were comforted again when she said the tile installation sub contractor was Andre Fedorchuk, he had previously done the tile floor in our sunroom and he is the best! The last part of the project was the floor, and my wife was conflicted about wood, tile, or carpet. Karen showed us samples and convinced us that by continuing the existing hardwood into the living room and refinishing the old to match, it would tie everything together. This was hard for my wife to visualize because our existing floor was 20 years old and had yellowed with time, but we trusted Karen. As scheduled her flooring crew came and started installing the new oak in the living room. The next thing I notice is more people were here and they were pulling some boards back up! I asked them what is going on, why are you tearing it up? The installer had noticed the quality of the wood delivered did not match the quality of what we already had, and he was concerned. Then a new batch of wood was delivered, and they went back to the install and still finished on schedule! I was so impressed that they upgraded the wood on their own without me expressing one word of dissatisfaction. That is the quality of the teamwork I experienced with all Dillabaugh's staff! But we still weren't out of the woods, we had a color effect we were hoping for on the hardwood and we hadn't seen it on any samples yet. Mike laid down 6 different stain samples on our floor with me calling the shades until he got it right. He came back the next day and stained the whole floor with our custom choice and it is perfect. The whole project is done now, and it is incredibly beautiful! The granite is the main eye catcher with the backsplash subtly shining above it just as Karen had predicted. The cabinets are awesome and work flawlessly, but the floor with its warm stain color while still letting all of the character of the wood shine through flows through the whole project tying it all together just like Karen had promised! When we get on to the next project, which will probably be the master bath, we will not hesitate to call Karen, Craig and the Dillabaugh's crew to help us with our next interior design creation. We went to Dillabaugh's for kitchen design help after a very poor experience at an unnamed big-box store. We found Dillabaugh's kitchen design and cabinet expert Tony to be the consummate professional. He helped us every step of the way and was knowledgeable, friendly, and has a really great eye for design--he can help you from the ground-up, or help you more fully-form your own thoughts on design! I'm not sure many people know Dillabaugh's offers this kind of help--I think most people think of them for flooring. They have a couple of outstanding cabinet lines and Tony, again, is an outstanding kitchen design and functionality expert. We couldn't be more pleased. read more

Do NOT recommend. They seem very shady. When I was working with them to get an estimate on new carpet install and asked to come by to pick up some samples to take home to match my décor they responded 'we don't do that until we come out to measure first'. We don't want our customers leaving with the carpet samples because the samples never come back to the store'. I told him that I would be willing to leave a deposit for the samples and he said that they have been doing this for a long time and that they do not give out samples and that they do not take a deposit either. Then when I started to ask questions about quality and face weight he responded they do not do that either- the carpet is rated by a star method instead. So how do you compare pricing when you have no specifications? There is some relationship with Flooring America which only carries branded carpet for their stores and there is no type of reviews or quality matching or specifications because they only sell to Flooring America stores. I see why Dillabaugh's Flooring gets such bad reviews now, as they have no customer service and actually accuse their customers of trying to steal carpet sample boards! read more

The floors looked great but the customer service was pitiful. My salesperson and was supposed to go out and lay down paper the day after the floor dried. When my agent arrived, she said there was no paper laid down, the closet door had not been re-hung (neither had a drawer at the end of the hall) and excess wood and weather stripping was laying around. When I called to ask when it would be cleaned up, the sales agent, in a snarky tone, told me it had been cleaned. It took me sending my agent back to the house to take pictures to prove that the work had not been cleaned up. Even after that, the drawer was never put back. Paid a lot of money for this service, deserve better customer service. read more

We had excellent service until after the installation of our granite counter tops. About 5 days prior to the installation date we received a call from Roslyn who advised us the install date would have to be changed if we did not sign a form advising us that the granite could leave small chips when cut. We have had prior granite installations and never had a problem so we signed the form. After the granite was installed our contractor told us that there was a problem with the granite installation. He took pictures of the problem which showed a chuck of granite had broke off right on the edge of the counter with a sharp looking edges which was totally unexceptable!! We contacted Roslyn and left a message no response so our contractor talked to the install manager who went out and looked at it. After his review he said that there was nothing they could do. We spent $4,000 on this counter and it looks terrible and if a child ever fell on it he certainly could be injured. They pride themselves as a Christian family and business but they certain are not showing their Christian values. We are now trying to find another company who will repair their mistake. We will never do business again with Dillabaughs on Fairview . read more

The construction department did the flooring, tile, carpet and backsplash in our home. Overall they did a good job, but it was like pulling teeth to get them to come back out each time to fix things. My wife and I noticed a section of the flooring making a cracking sound Right before the one year warranty period was up. They came out and attempted to fix it. The person who came out said that if his fix didn't work I should recall and that Dillabaugh's would come back out and replace the section of flooring. Well after texting Mark Crumley who is in charge of this area numerous. I was finally told that my flooring was out of the warranty period. I advised him not only what his worker told me, but that the floor had been doing it for months. No response these people are crooks do your home work before spending your money with them. They are all nice and friendly upfront, but after you have paid it's a whole different story. read more

Long story short, we were anticipating eventually getting our old carpet replaced in our home but in painting one of the bedrooms paint was spilled all over the carpet. So we contacted Dillabaugh's, referred to us from a general contractor friend. Working with Teresa McDonald was a joy! She was great at helping us choose just the right carpet for the two bedrooms (we decided to have the other bedroom done as well). And she was able to get us a quick installation date as we were expecting guests, which was great! The Installer was professional and very nice. Love our carpets!! Overall, our bathroom remodel looks really good. Theresa's ideas and keen eye for design brought the project together. She is very committed to achieving an aesthetically pleasing outcome. Theresa put a lot of work in to the bathroom project but we feel like she had to carry the entire project and deal with all the issues that she did not create. The excellent tile craftsmanship by Andre and support work by Cori and her crew are why the end product came out well. Quality of vanity cabinetry was not to the standards of the rest of the project. Interior holes cut for plumbing were sloppy, cabinet exterior required touch up and drawer construction was sub-par with cracks at the joints. The cabinet was expensive, we never quibble over costs, so why not provide top quality? We didn't bring up these issues because frankly we were tired of having to complain about problems. After an early 2013 full kitchen remodel and EOY full bathroom remodel, we unfortunately have to say that although Dillabaugh's represents themselves as a full service general contractor, the home owner has to follow-up more than we feel necessary and we are surprised that in the end, an inspection walk through is not done nor a follow-up to inquire on general satisfaction of the projects. For years we've been told by contractors that they like working with us yet on both projects (particularly the kitchen) we had the feeling that we were viewed as somewhat of a pain to work with. I don't think the entire Dillabaugh's company has fully learned to embrace the customer relationship. We've never had an issue with the costs, it's the service level. We had an insurance claim for some water damage and since Dillabaughs has been around Boise forever I figured I would give them a call. Osa was my rep. He came out very quickly to look at the job, take a bunch of measurements and gave me a quote later that same day. They worked well with and through the company that I had overseeing the entire disaster cleanup process. The workers were in as expected and got the job done well and efficiently. In particular, Osa went above and beyond in making sure that we got the job done right and were happy with the results. read more

I DO NOT RECOMEND. I paid handsomely for an Armstrong floor, which is nice, but the installers were 3 hours late. They told me to wait a few hours to walk on the floor and I waited overnight. They left extra grout with me in case of bubbles. The next day three quarters of the floor had cracks all over the place. I had to regrout three fourths of the floor. The installers were in a hurry to leave and did a crappy job. Dave is a car salesman at best. These people over charge and never asked me for what I thought of the job. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more
