On my last return visit she wildly started drilling and filing down neighboring teeth without any numbing whatsoever. She didn't care that I kept wincing. She "joked" that she didn't want to see me again for this tooth. Gladly! I'm never coming back and I'm having it fixed by a proper dentist. Avoid this place!

The online scheduling experience worked well. When I arrived, the hygienist was nice and took my x-rays. I noticed that they use lots of fancy equipment like cameras and 3D representations. I was thinking that they were to help improve diagnosis, but when I read about them later, they're primarily advertised as sales tools to help dentists sell more work. They've had a lot of turnover, and so a very new dentist came in and told me I needed tons of work, and that they wouldn't even complete my cleaning unless I agreed to all of it. I had just recently been seen by my other dentist and had gotten a clean bill of health, so was a little bit surprised by this. I investigated more and discovered that the practice is now operated by a large company called Heartland Dental Inc. Heartland paid a $3 million settlement to the US Department of Justice to settle allegations of improper billing and unnecessary services. This was enough to turn me off the the practice -- I'm going to have to drive a little further but it'll be safer for my teeth and wallet! To close it all, I've now sent three requests for my records to be sent, and still haven't received them.

I was very pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the office manager later that day apologizing sincerely for the mistaken information I received. They never charge a cancellation fee when there is a medical reason. I was happy to receive a such a call and now I have an appt for Wed which allows for 2 days off the blood thinner. I recently had to have an emergency procedure and expressed specific anxieties related to the procedure they said I needed, and I was offered no comfort, no explanation of what the dentist was doing when he was doing it, and my need to ask questions were met with frustration and apathy rather than clarity and compassion. The woman who helped me figure out my insurance ended up being the kindest person who spoke to me during that experience. This is sadly just the most recent experience among many others.
