On two separate occasions I ordered Board head cold cuts and requested a thin cut and both times the clerk cut them thick. Either they are not trained or just do whatever they want. When Dillon's had locations in the Olathe and Overland Park area, this was my go-to for Chinese food that was fast and delicious. Since Dillon's pulled out of the KC area, I try to find a Dillon's when I venture outside of the area. So when we went to Topeka yesterday, there was a Dillon's three miles from where we had to be, so we were excited when lunchtime rolled around and we were getting ready to return to Olathe. Went to Dillon's specifically for the Chinese food. Discovered that the tradition of fast and delicious Chinese food from a Dillon's isn't a given. The lo mein noodles weren't the tradiltional flat lo mein noodles at all; the noodles they used in it were the thick heavy noodles one usually finds in pho. The biggest thing, though, was the lack of any kind of flavor. Just tasted like noodles in a broth with no spices or flavoring. The entrees fell to the same issue: no real flavor at all, very bland. Egg roll was not crispy at all. Service was good. Man behind the counter was very friendly and acknowledged us almost immediately as we walked to the counter. read more

I've been shopping here since the store opened many years ago. I know a lot of employees just from shopping here. All of them say hi, and are always willing to help. I would subtract a star, but I dont want it to reflect on the employees. It seems like they are always short handed. Checkout can be slow, but this is due to lack of employees. So it is no fault of the people that work here, and they always do their best. I hope to see more people hired. It would be nice to see the employees they have now, get some help. Besides that one thing, I love shopping here with my handicapped brother. The employees always talk to him, and make him feel important. That is worth the wait at checkout for me. They never have enough registers or self check outs open. Lines are the norm and the employees don't care that you're unconvinced at all. I'll drive out of my way from now on. read more

Dillon Stores - the front of the store - Drugstores Near Me - Topeka, Kansas

I don't make it over to this Dillon's too often, but it's a pleasant enough experience when I do. They are one of the "super" Dillons, with a bakery, deli and fresh seafood. The parking lot leaves a bit to be desired though - it's NOT well designed and can be an ordeal to get in or out of - especially when it's busy, like Saturday mornings or before holidays. I figure that's because there is no other option for the people on the East side of Topeka for grocery shopping - unless they want to take a 20 minute trek to another part of town... which is really neither here nor there - it's just what I imagine makes this a "happenin" spot. read more

The store has a cramped and hectic feeling to it. I dont like it very much. The meat selection is not good. We try to shop at Hyvee or another grocery store. Pharmacists are nice and explain things well. They even mentioned an alternative to ask Dr. about regarding my son's allergy. Usually very helpful staff. Their drive thru can slow the Rx counter though. read more

I agree with the previous review. It is overall a pleasant place to shop. However, the parking lot is hard to get around, especially after work. (Now before work, like when I need to pick up some quick treats to bring for my coworkers, it's not all that packed and very easy to get through.) The pharmacy is good. I like the reminder calls and that they don't restock the medicines for 2 weeks - with the way doctors e-prescribe long-term medicine, it's ready way before I need it. They, too, suffer from being busy. If only they had more staff or another drive-thru lane during the rush hour... read more

The sushi at this dillons sucks bad. I've tried several times and it is always ugly, sloppy and does not taste fresh. I'm writing this because this very last time I just got sushi, it was missing both Wasabi and ginger. Careless. read more

My husband is a diabetic. I have to go to Walmart grocery to find a good selection of sugar free foods like sugar free cook and serve vanilla pudding or sugar free chocolate syrup. It is seldom that Dillon's keeps fat free items as well. I hardly ever can count on fat free cottage cheese or fat free sour cream being in their dairy case. One other complaint is when shopping at the SE Dillon's late in the evening I was shocked to see the lady that worked in the deli dept. lift the glass up on the large case where all the food was still in the serving dishes and spray the inside of the glass with cleaner, then close the glass down and went on her way. You could see the mist from the cleaner inside the case settling on the food. I called and complained, but I don't really know how far that got me. I will not ever purchase food from the deli case again. read more

Dillons is one of the worse stores Ive been to. I use to love going here but recently they've changed everything. They are extremely unorganized. They claim they're reorganizing but they're doing a terrible job. They should hire people at night or even close the store for a few days to get it done. They were no help when it came to finding stuff and even some of the staff were fed up with it. Im disappointed in Dillons and if you want to shop, go elsewhere because we spent over an hour finding 3 items. We talked to the manager and they were no help. The juice is with the dog food but also a few isle down. The protein bars have 3 different isle 1 which isn't even near the other two. With the juice is also chocolate and moth balls and many other things that don't belong in the isle. They give you a paper but its no help either. It said an item was in isle 20 but theres nothing in isle 20. I even heard other customers in the store complaining. This store looks like a zombie apocalypse hit and everyone threw everything around and grabbed everything. They said it will take a month and in that month I will not be shopping at Dillons. The other thing I dislike is the Deli. The workers are rude and one is even sick and working. The other day the Deli was also a mess which was disgusting. read more

While I don't have a lot of grocery store choices on the east side of town, I do love this Dillons store. So glad that new Wal-Mart is nearby to weed out some of the less desirable clientele that prefer the Wal-Mart scene. The checkers, sackers and most of the staff are super and many have been there for years. The new parking lot give you lots of entry and exit options. read more
