Small grocery store. Can get crowded and tight quickly. Very good pharmacy. I don't like the homeless hanging out in and around the store.

Dillon's is supposed to have great steaks. My husband went to buy two rib-eyes. They were $20 per pound!!! Supposed to be their very best. Anyway, he got them and brought them home. I cut them each in half and we each had half a steak. My husband's wasn't terrible--wasn't great either, but mine didn't even look like a ribeye, but they assured my husband that it was. I tried my first bite. It was suspect when I really had to saw through it with my steak knife. I chewed and chewed... the more I chewed the larger and drier it got! I literally could not get the first bite down. I tried one more time from another area of the "steak". (I think it was a hunk of roast). Same thing. There was absolutely no way to eat this meat. At twenty dollars a pound I expected SOMETHING steak-like. . I wrapped it up and took it back to show them the problem. The front desk would not let me take it back to the meat department. They wanted a receipt. Who saves receipts for steak??? I didn't have one. I tried to explain this to the meat department and they told me that it was their "policy" that they couldn't do anything without a receipt. I explained that the wrapper was up front and surely they could do something. Again, the "policy"--just like a little puppet. They gave me excuse after excuse but did nothing. Not even an apology. For twenty bucks a pound no excuse was going to work. No satisfaction, nothing. They have permanently lost my business. On top of all that, they couldn't have cared less. No concern whatsoever. NONE. I am still angry. They must have too many customers if that is how they treat them. WARNING--don't even take a chance. I won't darken their door again. read more

This is only about the pharmacy. I cannot believe how bad the pharmacy is being managed now. Dillons had to switch to some new system where you absolutely have to create an account online in order to pick up your prescriptions. The system is idiotic, redundant and honestly very difficult to figure out. I did my best to fight through the system to get prescriptions for both of my parents, but the difficulties were so rampant that even employees at the pharmacy were suggesting just going to another pharmacy. I spoke with a few employees who said most of their time interacting with customers is now spent with trying to explain the system and that many many people are unhappy with how these changes have been implemented. I found it far easier to just transfer all of my parent's prescriptions to Walmart. There's not a single advantage of keeping their medications at Dillons when there are far better alternatives. The people working at Dillons were all fantastic and this is not a complaint about them at all. It's about this idiotic trash system that they have put into place. Continues to be a very over priced chain with limited selection of cleaning and sanitary items. I am never a fan of visiting this place considering Topeka still remains to be a limited cesspool of small minded laws and limited stores. No where can you find dried sage or Lysol cleaner and to ask someone means you get strange looks or a story about some place that may or may not be opened. It's absolutely ridiculous!!!! read more

Still my favorite Dillon's. We needed special service today and the knocked it out of the park‼ The seasonal furniture is on sale. There was 1 table my wife wanted, and there was only 1 left in town. They set it aside so no one else could buy it until we could get there to pick it up. read more

This has to be the cleanest and best stocked Dillons in town. The people who work there are generally friendly and willing to help you find anything, which cannot always be said for other Dillons locations in town. Their produce is fresh. They are rarely crowded to the point that you cannot navigate the store. There is a Starbucks located within the store. They tend to keep the checkout lanes moving, quickly adding more cashiers when then get busy. They are not the cheapest place in town, but I'd much rather go here to do the weekly grocery shopping. The only complaint that I've had is that after 10pm, you have to go through the self checkout. When you are buying a week's worth of groceries, going through self checkout is 'no bueno'. read more

This pharmacy is trash. The doctor put in a prescription for my daughter that when my wife went in the first time to get it was told it would take 20 minutes. She had to be at work so she went to work and when I got off work I went in to grab it. They told me the same thing when I got there, 20 minutes. So I walked around the store with my kids and grabbed a few things that we needed at the house. When I returned to the pharmacy, they told me that they did not have that drug in stock and that it wouldn't be in stock until the next day. I was pretty pissed by this but I walked off hoping my daughter could wait one more day. The next day, again, my wife went in to pick up the prescription and they told her, AGAIN, 30 minutes. So she came and had lunch with me. When she returned, 2 HOURS LATER, they still did not have the prescription ready. This pharmacy is a joke that has no orderliness and no accountability. They just lie to your face over and over. I'm done with them, we're going somewhere reliable like Walgreens from now on. TRASH read more
