A GROUPON lead me here, it was worth the price for the tasting, glass and glass of wine. The wines are decent enough for price and manufacturing of a local product. Of the 7 'tastes' I really liked 2 enough to purchase and one just because it's different. I was taken by surprise by The Vidal BLANC although I rarely drink white wine this was good. My first choice would be the Red Table wine a mix of red grapes, not sweet and slightly dry. I'm not a sweet or 'flavored' wine person but the Chocolate Raz was just what it sounds like, nice hints of chocolate and raspberry. This would be a good desert wine. I was glad to see a local Port Wine, good with a cigar. Regarding the service and ambiance it's fair. It's a small vineyard that makes the best of space. Our server was pleasant and helpful. My suggestion is to offer some food choices to help enhance the experience. Small cheese and cracker trays they can purchase and resell at a profit. Would I return? So happy I was able to visit this place before it got too cold. I've been wanting to go here since I've seen them in a wine festival like 1-2 years prior. Their Diamond wine is my favorite! A light refreshing white wine! Got the tasting so tried a lot others, not a red fan so I mostly gravitated towards the whites. A nice place to visit with a pretty garden & several tables with umbrellas. We did the red wine flight and it was pretty good and the serving of each wine was 1.5 oz which was awesome. I echo the sentiment of some of the other reviewers, Jackie is a total trip. Her vivacious nature and feel good vibes are infectious. I've been to many wineries and I've never come across anyone as into their job, and the enjoyment of the patrons as she is. Not to take away from the wines, but she is destined for greatness in whatever field she pursues. As for the product, it is pretty decent. I found more whites that interested me, but I was happy to try a red variety I had never heard of, Ives. The favorite of the tasting was an Ice wine, this example was as good or better than some I've had which are double the cost. The tasting room is fairly small, but since this is a bit off the beaten path, it never became too crowded. Somehow Jackie was able to take care of everyone( at one point at least 10 of us) by herself. The winemaker/owner was also in attendance and was fun to talk with. All but a few of the varieties of grapes are produced by the winery, and even the fruit used is local. Deserie, Mr Dimatteo and son Frank were fantastic. Such a great place to enjoy time with these folks and have some wine. My wife enjoyed the wine more than I but the company made it more than worthwhile. Deserie is super great host and a joy to talk to. We did buy some wine but learned more about vines and blueberries. We stopped on our way to buy blueberry plants and though we don't live anywhere nearby will definitely stop back. Great job you guys! read more

Did a Groupon special and they could not fulfill it. As for the atmosphere I give it a 10 but as for what they advertised it's a 4. We bought a wine tasting and was told what 7 wines we could taste even though there was more available. They came in small plastic cups and were delivered to us. After that we could choose one of those 7 to have a "free" glass of. We were also supposed to receive 2 free glasses with our tasting and I was told sport we have none to give. Which was another piece of what was offered but not received. This is one of our fav local go to wineries but after today I don't know. It was very disappointing. This is a great little winery in Hammonton. This was my second time here with my Girlfriend. We have been here once before in 2016. The winery grounds are very beautiful and so is the winery. There is limited grass parking out front and more parking along the left side of the winery. Inside you will find a small tasting room. The tasting bar is about 20 feet long and there are two high top tables for mingling. There is also a large event room opposite the tasting room, which is very inviting. With a tasting you are able to sample five of their wines. They have a very good variety of reds and whites, dry to sweet. If you enjoy traveling to different wineries, you should stop in. I'm not sure if this was an off day, but the person who helped us, gave us a list, came back after a few minutes and said we were stuck with him because the hostess was on the phone (we could clearly hear her personal conversation) and that we just pick what we wanted. There was no detail and he clearly did not know anything about the wines. From the selection we received, only one was drinkable; the rest were too sweet, but I didn't know that from the information provided. This was not a great find and we left in a hurry. It's a small family winery and they had a small tasting bar. Tasting room decoration isn't fancy and wine tasting menu isn't sophisticated. But the staff is very friendly and helpful. We met Mr dematteo who is the owner and winemaker. He was also helping wine tastings that afternoon. He explained to us how he made each wine and gave us some tasting notes from all of his wines. That was very helpful. We were very impressed by his employee who was working with him. She was very helpful and knowledgeable too. It was really fun to be there. I bought few tramminate from here. Although I enjoyed most of the seven small samples of predetermined wine that I received, I was very disappointed with my visit. I had a Groupon for two people which clearly stated included was a wine tasting, souvenir glasses, glasses of wine, and 5% discount. Our server, who was not very friendly, brought our samples of wine and the list but told us nothing about the wines or the winery. When we asked about the glasses of wine that was included with the Groupon she said we didn't get a glass of wine but she would look into it. She came back and said the owner is no longer giving a glass of wine with the Groupon. After much arguing with her, which ruined our afternoon, she gave us two small glasses of wine. read more

For my friends birthday she organized a mini little wine tour and Dimatteo was are 1st stop. Despite being confused by the locked door when we got there, this ended up being one of the best place we went. The Taster was super friendly and very informative she made the tasting fun and entertaining. Personally I am not a fan of sweet wine and this place was mostly sweet wines. Dimatteo is another gem of a winery tucked away in rural South Jersey. Of all the wineries I've been to I like the staff here the best. The lady that did my tasting was just so cool and knowledgable. They have a solid lineup here...the sangria was by far my favorite and definitely the best of the local sangrias I have tried. The Pasquale Red seems to also be a customer favorite here. Like a typical Italian house, the DiMatteo family had a spread of savory and sweet snacks to compliment the wine tasting experience. I have to admit, we were a little concerned when we pulled into the parking lot-- it was waaaay smaller than we were expecting-- but we were really pleased once things got going. We had a Groupon, which was why we went there to begin with, and the four of us fit comfortably at the bar. Our server had us pick seven wines off a list but ended up giving us every single wine they had available to taste, and each one was awesome. I'm not typically a wine person, but even the ones I didn't like weren't particularly bad. Our server was also extremely well-versed in wine, like the most excited server I've ever met. She explained every single wine and how we would taste it and what it would pair with and it made the experience wonderful. She was also hilarious! A great perk was that we got to keep the glasses we used as a souvenir. We all got at least one bottle to bring home, and it was pretty inexpensive, especially for how good everything was! The server also helped us choose which wine to bring to Thanksgiving dinner. I would definitely recommend this place. Support a local business and buy their wines! I love love love Dimatteo's it's smaller than the other vineyards in Hammonton but their wine is sooo good!! My favorite is their sangria!!! They are so nice and helpful. You can go for tastings also which is such a great girls night!! They also give you a great wine bag when you buy 4 or more bottles. I have used it so many times!! I like giving local businesses a try before going to a big chain. This vineyard will not disappoint. I have sent more than 30 people there and have never gotten a complaint. We found this place last year when our family went on a local wine tour. We have done this out in California so figured it would be cool to try at home. I I think by the time we left, we had bought a couple cases here because it was so good. I typically like dry Italian wines and with most of their selection at the time being sweet desert style wines, I was surprised how much I enjoyed them. Two months later, after regular Sunday visits, we wheeled out 4 cases of wine (some of which was for our out of town friends and family members who placed orders) the rest being enjoyed by us locals throughout the summer. At the time most of the selection was sweet, however, now that we have been going there for a while, we discovered they added Cab Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot and a few other awesome additions which are more on the dry side. My favorites are still Traminette and Pasquale. I would recommend that you do the tasting before you buy so that you get the chance to zero in on what you like. (You will love Jackie, she is great at her job and also just a great person in general). Summary & Specifics: They have a nice large variety of white, red and fruit wines all grown locally in Hammonton, NJ. There is something for every pallet here so definitely worth taking the trip if you get the chance. They are priced very well and discounted when you buy a case. They are one of the 28 winery's located in NJ's Outer Coastal Plain AVA region and are on the Garden State Winegrowers Association Passport so you can get stamped when you bring in your passport in. I visited 12 wineries last weekend, some which were really good and some that I definitely wouldn't go back to. This is the only one I am leaving a review for because I thought it was completely set apart from the others. The vibe as soon as we walked in was great. We felt so welcome and the owner and lady pouring seemed genuinely happy to be at work and doing what they do. You don't get that at many places. We had such a great experience, I have been telling all my friends about it. Unfortunately the winery is about 2 hours from my house, but I will be making the trip again in a few months for sure! We did a wine tasting here and found it to be a total rip-off. It was $10.00 per person to sample 7 wines. This would not have been a bad deal had we not been given barely a mouthful of wine as a sample. Me and my husband were sharing so were charged an extra $3.00 sharing fee, and barely had a mouthful of each wine to share between us. For $13.00 I don't even think we got a 1/4 glass of wine!
