Dimi's is ALWAYS busy! I would highly recommend you book a reservation at least a couple days in advance. My group of 4 booked a day before and they couldn't offer us a normal table for a 7pm booking. Instead, we booked a communal high chair spot and got lucky when our time came as there was an open table. If I ended up sitting at the communal table I don't think I would've been as happy since the doors are so close to that table, and with there only being one set of doors, I'm sure it's a bit cold. The decorations and atmosphere are phenomenal, really well done! 3 people were celebrating their birthdays at other tables - a waitress rang a bell, which made the restaurant go silent, the birthday was announced, and they were offered a shot in front of the restaurant and then they get to smash a plate! I think this is such a cool experience for someone celebrating their birthday!! My group ordered the calamari ($16) to share, good calamari, would definitely order again (in my opinion, it's everything I want my calamari to taste like). I split chicken souvlaki ($28) and the three piece lamb chops ($32) - splitting these two dishes was a good amount of food. I've only ever had lamb at home and was not a big fan due to the aftertaste. This lamb didn't have as strong of an aftertaste and it was really tender, I would order it again! My only complaint is that it came with so little sides (one piece of carrot, and 3 potatoes), I think a salad is more suiting to cut the grease and heaviness although the carrot was nice and sweet to cut the saltiness (but only one?!). The chicken soulvaki was so good, the chicken was juicy and there was a good amount of chicken, potatoes, and carrots. I wish there was a little more rice and less potatoes, as I really enjoyed the rice. My group also shared a lemon creme brulee ($12). It had more of a custard texture and the caramelized sugar on top was a bit thick (hard to break) but the lemon flavouring was perfect!

Fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant. Had calamari and spanakopita to start with. Finished with the seasonal salad. Also; if it's your birthday, you can do a shot and smash a plate, which was fun. A must try London establishment.

DIMI'S LONDON Lamb Chops (5pc) - $35 Dimi's Carbonara Pasta w/ Lamb - $25 Today we're reviewing Dimi's Greek House in London, ON. It's a cute little restaurant in London's downtown core. I've got to say I was incredibly impressed by the food here!! It was definitely the best Greek restaurant I've ever been to. Portions were SO big and we had to pack up at least half our food to bring home with us haha. The Lamb chops were Deliciously marinated and grilled along with the potatoes & veggies it came with. The pasta was super creamy and featured a good portion of lamb meat! Overall I highly recommend EVERYONE to go try this place if you're ever in London :) Rate - Worth it - Atmosphere -

Dimi's is a new Greek restaurant on Richmond, opened by the same brothers behind Kosmos Eatery. They're open for dinner, and it seems like they have plans to open for brunch on weekends. It's definitely one of the trendier restaurants in London, with nice decor - a few small tables and seating along a long communal table and along the bars. It seems common for date nights, birthdays, and a nice place to catch up with friends. We tried the saganaki, lamb shank, and half chicken roasted dinner. The saganaki came on a cast iron pan with a shot of flaming ouzo - showy, but it was a bit thin and lacked a bit of crispiness and substance. The mains were done well, and they both came with large roasted potatoes and broccolini. The roast chicken was juicy and flavourful, with the skin nicely crisped, but the potatoes were a bit bland. The drink menu looked tasy and inventive, and definitely something to try next time! Service was polite but not very attentive, as we had to wait a while to receive menus and bread, and retrieved our coats from the racks at the back of the restaurant ourselves. Overall, Dimi's is a great new addition to London - a trendy place to get some decent Greek-inspired food and cocktails. The food is great but not extraordinary, but they have a lot of great momentum since opening around December, and I'm looking forward to their brunch menu! Be sure to call ahead for reservations as they can book up quickly on weekends.

Chicken rice and potatoes with tzatziki for dip. Sooo delicious

The smell of food made us chase him. He was kind of scared but he stopped, we asked where did he find the food. He thought for a second and politely gave us such precise instructions (that is something I admire about north dudes, is like if they had a GPS in the brain). We arrived to the food truck, it was cool to see two brave-hard working girls managing the party zombie crowd. People would stop by with cars, others would walk while eating, some others would torture themselves with the smell until reaching home... I ordered a guilty late night burger. It was big, tasted like BBQ, satisfied me, couldn't finish it. Next day I woke up still smelling like crime burger... It was worth.

Happily, the short order cook seemed to be in better spirits this time. He even struck up a conversation while he was making the food about my day. The food was still really good, fresh veggies, and prepared really well overall. My overall time there wasn't very long - it took a really short time for the pita to be prepared and I was on my way. Okay - now I'm a fan.

At 5pm--with the place all but deserted--my son was taking a photograph near this market kiosk. He had a small tripod. The owner -- Chris Doris -- waited for an opportunity to catch my son alone and rudely told him his taking photos "didn't pay the bills" and that he was "blocking customers." My son has autism and is taking a program at Fanshawe College. It is very sad that this member of the "friendly and respected staff" missed an opportunity to connect with a potential customer. (Ironically, we have purchased produce here since moving to London in August (from Toronto) and I was going to buy some more today). How cowardly to wait until the parent/adult was gone to go in and try and bully a young person. Want to build your business? Want to encourage some community building? How about supporting young people in getting an education? Needless to say I went back and told this guy off. I'll get my produce elsewhere. This person needs to visit St. Lawrence Market in Toronto on a Saturday to get a grip on what "busy" and "blocking customers" might look like.

Sure, it could be more economical to buy the whole fruit or veg -- and you can do that here, of course -- but as a solo and indecisive cook, the pre-cut smaller portions work for me. They have many options in that vein, but also a full and colourful selection of local produce. Fresh herbs, too. Plus many jams, sauces & dry pasta to compliment your shopping. It's the only place in the market I get my fruits & vegetables from.
