They prepare financials of course, but what set them apart was their value added. Back in 2015 when my former CPA left the planet without a trace, I discovered George Dimov. Unlike tax specialists prior, I didn't have to wait hours in a stodgy waiting room looking at the deadened faces of fellow seekers of happy returns (as they had to suffer with my deadened face, too) all of us with our shoe-boxes full of receipts on our laps and many of us, like me, having to combat the hour-long traffic on L.A.'s 405 freeway to get there. The Dimov Tax Specialists solved the traffic problem, and the long wait problems by doing everything online, securely. While I wasn't (and still aren't) expert in computing, it sure beat commuting. (It dawns on me today, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic where everything is done online, George and his team were ahead of their time). But, I'm guessing, today, it's not so unique for tax accountants to complete returns online. So, why did I stay with Dimov Tax Specialist? First of all, it was George's expertise that advised my wife and I about pluses and pitfalls -- tax-wise -- of buying a rental property in another state. But, even more importantly, it's their expertise in knowing what forms are needed and how to cover the bases of rental properties in two states plus how to include the profits and loses of two different sole proprietorships as diverse as internet-radio broadcasting and yoga/meditation instruction. Dimov Tax Specialists have stayed abreast of changing times (and the necessary procedures and forms demanded by those changing times), and have always been exceptionally communicative with me answering every question I have promptly, usually the same day.
