We had three samples from the manufacturer as well as looking at the photos from the manufacturer website and decided on the Hanstone Coast product, manufactured by Hyundai L & C, headquarters in Georgia. After having the measurements done, Paramount came to install the quartz. At first I thought the numerous black marks on the surface were smudge from the workers hands. After trying to wash it off with soap and water, we realized that it was an inherent smudge in the product we received. Paramount would have nothing to say. I called Kaylee, customer care for the manufacturer in Georgia who told me it was a defect in the manufacturing of the slab of quartz that was sent. She told me that all Paramount had to do was send in a form and Hyundai would send a new slab for free. Paramount never offered to do this. I found out that the industry standard for the fabricator(Paramount) is to have the customer come in to check the slab prior to fabricating it. This is important because there might be a hole for a sink that needs to be cut out and the customer may want to tell the fabricator what part of the slab should be cut for their countertop. As the photos show(although seeing in person is even worse), the black smudges are a definite eyesore. No reasonable customer or fabricator would have accepted this. The owner never came to look at the finished product in person. Instead he had one of his workers come and take a picture, as well as the person who did the initial measurements. Despite the manufacturer Hyundai L & C offering to send a free new slab for us Paramount never cooperated with Hyundai. Paramount never took the time or interest to fill out a form. Then wanted to charge us over $2,000 to remove the two defective countertops (each 23"x55") and install the new ones. The original installation took less than two hours. Plus they already had the exact measurements to do the fabrication. Also, there would be extra material for them to sell as a remnant for another customer. In addition, Paramount said they would not be responsible for any damage to our new custom made vanities. Fortunately, we have found another stone fabricator to complete our project. Our general contractor was able to have his two workers remove the two countertops without doing any damage in less than 90 minutes, including putting down protective paddings on the floor and cleaning up. Our contractor, who does a lot of remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms was appalled at the way this was handled by Paramount and said he will never give them business again. Look elsewhere to avoid having the same experience we had.

i don't recommend doing business with Greenwich Lock and Door…read more GLD (Andrew) was changing the locks on my neighbors new house when i had a problem w/ my garage door. he fixed it w/ ease so thankful for that but their labor rate ($150) was more expensive than the local competition ($85) but figured getting the job fixed in a timely manner was important. a few months later garage door wasn't working again so had GLD (Andrew) assess the problemn. he said that the trolley assembly unit was damaged and needed to be replaced. since this is the 3rd replacement in the past 5 years i suspect something else might be causing the damage (ie tension on the springs, alignment of rail,etc) but left it up to Andrew to fix the problem and give his recommendation. part was replaced but GLD (Andrew) determined all other moving and stationary parts were working fine on the Liftmaster garage door system. i called Liftmaster to inquire about this issue because i wasn't satisfied w/ GLD's explanation. Liftmaster didn't think it's due to a defective part since all 3 trolley assembly units are damaged in the exact same place. as a courtesy they sent me a trolley assembly (no cost) to me to pass along to GLD. since it's after the service was completed i called GLD and asked if they could take the part and then credit me the cost of the assembly $24.68 off the $202.12 invoice. the field rep (Andrew) called me the next day and insulted me and accused me of 'Stiffing him". I tried to explain to him that i never said i wouldn't pay fully for the part and service (which i have since done) but that i was merely suggesting; would he be able to credit for the part. incidently while Andrew was accusing me the field rep from Lifetime Garage Doors was standing next to me. I had called them to get their opinion of my problem. This rep saw that the rail is warped and thats why the trolley assembly unit keeps getting damaged in the same spot. Hence, he concurred with Liftmaster that some other part was causing the trolley to repeatedly get damaged. bottom line is i'm giving GLD a poor rating for how i was treated. I have since paid in full the bill Andrew issued but for him to accuse me of stiffing me and then insulting me was unnecessary. saying to this field rep from Lifetime Garage, " you'd better run for the hills because she'll stiff you too" is a poor business decision. if you choose GLD, Good luck and hope Andrew learns not to treat the customer with such disrespect.

Don't Bother! I called this man to come and refinish my floors and he postponed 3 times on me…read more(that's 3 weeks of waiting). I should have known ahead of time because he postponed coming to my house to quote on the job. I even had to call him for a quote. To start he told me the job would only take a couple of days. After coming to my house again I was told it would take 3-4 days, okay no problem I must've misunderstood. When I spoke to him again (after he postponed the 2nd time) he told me the job would be a full week. Again not a problem, I wanted him to do a good job on my floors and we would arrange ourselves in the house to give him the time he needed. Honestly, I understand that he was probably busy and we were going on vacation so I thought I'd be nice to go along with his schedule. The night before he was supposed to show up I texted him to confirm and I got another excuse about how it would be better to start the following week. Again I accepted that he was busy and allowed him to postpone. Today he was supposed to show up at 7:30 and he blamed being late on the weather. He explained in his text message that told his men to show up at 9:30 but the roads were bad and he can come by at 10. Remember he was supposed to show up at 7:30 and he's giving me another excuse! At this time I told him to forget it I called someone else. I'm not sure what type of job he would have done but waiting 3 weeks for someone to come and do a job is too long. Plus I just don't trust someone who feels that wasting my time is okay. Remember I'm paying him and his quote wasn't cheap. If Donald told me that he had other jobs and he couldn't come until later in the month I would have gladly agreed to schedule when he was free. However he didn't do that and left me with no other choice than to find someone else.

After agreeing to the proposal, there was no further contact with the owner during the many weeks leading up to the job. Then an emergency caused him to put off the 4-day job from a Friday to a Saturday. He called again on Saturday and said he was sorry but he'd have to start on Monday. Problem was, I was leaving on vacation that day and had planned everything around being able to let the workers in, stick around to make sure all was well, and leave a key for a neighbor to let them in the remaining days. This plan went all to hell. My neighbor reported no activity during my week away, and when I got back they still had to come in two more times. They left splashes of varnish on a tile floor, and there are still lap marks and streaks from applying the varnish incorrectly. They even put down the wrong color in one spot and had to remove and reapply. I had used another refinisher in the past, but I felt they were rude and didn't respect me as a past customer, so I sought out Personal Touch. True, they were at least competent at the start, and the workers couldn't have been nicer. Except for those mistakes and snafus, the floors really do look great. The problem was the emergency that threw off the schedule, which caused them to rush. Still, if I need floor refinishing again, I will go back to the rude guys. At least their work was mistake-free and was completed in the agreed-upon time frame.
