If I could give 3.5 stars I would. The staff is super nice and accommodating, room is dated- but very clean. Pet Friendly is a huge plus, we love traveling with our dogs. There is a boat ramp in the back of the property- which is super cool. Bed is not super comfortable, but it's not horribly miserable either. If you are looking for 5 star this isn't it, but if you want a cozy place to crash this dated motel works just fine. read more

Amazing retro motel. Has everything you need flat screen TVs microwave and fridge , cute outdoor seating. Cleanest place I have stayed in dunellon right next to the river and a amazing restaurant both walking distance . Rainbow springs state park is within 5 mins of the motel plus you can go out back to the river and go tubing and a lot of restaurants near walking discount. Also a liquor store right across the street. Well worth the money!! read more

This is absolutely the most amazing place I have EVER stayed. I was so excited to write this review because of the phenomenal service we received her at The Dinner Bell. Ellen at the front desk was the most kind gracious host I have ever met. She called to confirm my reservation, let me know the office was closing and when I got close to call the evening number and she would be waiting for me. She recommended the most amazing restaurants and locations for us to visit while we stayed If you go anywhere near Dunnellon Florida you have to stay at this place the rooms were exceptionally clean and quiet. Been staying here for years through several management and ownership changes. This place is clean, tidy and comfortable. Just so you know before you go, the tv feed is not HD, towels are not luxurious and they're a little chincy with soap and shampoo so bring your own. Other than that, the rates and friendly atmosphere make it the best in the area. I'll be back again and again, I'm sure. read more

Very old motel, but more than adequately clean if you're okay with loads of small ants in the sink area. Relatively inexpensive, though I paid less for a brand name hotel room in VERO Beach last week. The person on the desk, who may well be the owner, is very friendly and helpful. Our room has two queen beds, one of which unfortunately squeaks whenever I move (good thing I don't wiggle much when I sleep). Spouse is having a hard time, though, because housekeeping apparently sprays a lot of air freshener when they clean - a smell you can't get out, or maybe you could if it wasn't 95 degrees outside and you left your door open. It's a standard motel style, with parking outside your door. Has a good size fridge and very loud in-room AC. So far the premises are quiet (or maybe I just can't hear over the AC :-) ) but given some earlier reviews, we'll see how it rolls when the fisherfolk come in for the night. There's an Indian/American restaurant across the parking lot and several other eating places within what most folks would call easy walking. The river is about a 10 minute walk. All in all, if/when we come back to Dunnellon, this may be where we'll choose to stay. read more

Great place to stay when you're doing Rainbow River! The boat ramp is directly behind the hotel, which makes it nice to fish for a quick minute! The restaurant next door has great food and great service! The best part- the staff is SO accommodating! They are so nice and understanding with your schedule! Rooms are kept clean and certain rooms allow pets! We will stay here every time we do the Rainbow! read more

In my life, I have never been in a worst place. Motel 6 would be a 5 star compared to this place. We had heard good reviews in the past, but the place had changed hands and put right in the dump. So we get there and didn't get our rooms side by side as requested. Get into the room, it looks like shit. Turn on the A\C and went out to eat. Come back the A\C is not working, I try to call down to the office, phone doesn't work. Sit on the edge of the bed and it goes right to the floor. Now I'm upset. Oh yeah, I also tried to lock the door with the dead bolt, that doesn't work. I go down to the front office and tell the young man my troubles and he comes up. I noticed the door frame had been busted up, like someone had kicked the door in where the frame had been split. He couldn't fix the lock. He couldn't fix the phone. The A\C power had tripped the breaker, fixed. I go into the bathroom, the toilet paper was almost gone, open the shower curtain and find a dead rouch, in the tub. Walls in the shower had cracks and holes and the tub looked like someone took a blow torch to it, the back portion was melted. And NO, there were no other rooms available. It seemed like people lived there full time. Very young kids running in the parking lot. People outside smoking more than just cigarettes, I man outside in the parking lot fixing his truck, like it's been there for a month. Chairs in the hall ways, cigarettes buckets in the hall way, butts all over the place. I could go on. Stay away. read more

terrible. the dirtiest room I've ever seen. dead roaches in every single drawer of the dresser, wet piss around the toilet and a ring of mold, live roaches. people who clearly reside at the motel permanently are on the balcony drunk and loud at all times. read more

The management here is obviously working hard to provide a clean and appealing room at a fair price...in this area I give 5+ stars. The place has one big issue that needs fixed to become a perfect experience...and that is they need to not have staff hanging out and partying on the side walk. This is a complete turn off and makes it impossible to sleep well. The noise coming from room 110 was unacceptable. read more

Good place. It was clean, didn't feel skeeved out walking on the carpet without shoes(like some other old independent and chain motels I've stayed at), bedding was clean, towels were clean. Bed was comfortable enough, a little squeaky; they have the neck-craning hotel pillows, so I recommend you bring your own if you can. The check-in/out was fast, dude at the front desk was friendly. Quiet. Super cold A/C. Good wi-fi. Close to Rainbow Springs, and restaurants. read more

Great little motel. Quiet because the walls are well insulated. A favorite of divers and construction workers. Each room has a fridge and microwave. Each room is unique. The staff is fantastic. I loved staying here for 5 days. Very happy and the price was right. Slept well because of the quiet. The bed wasn't great, but the room was very clean and the towels nice. I would definitely stay here again and I recommend anyone on a budget - or not - this is the place to stay. Lots of eateries right around the motel, with one next door. East Indian and American grill. One caveat - if you have kids, this is not the place for you. Nothing for them to do. An overnight, OK. Besides, it's nice to have a place for adults to stay without kids screaming up and down and running around. There were none when I was there, except for overnights and that was GREAT!!! read more

A very retro experience. You use an actual key to get in your room. The staff was very professional. It was very clean and the TVs were newer. The linens and towels were clean and nice quality. The bed was comfortable and wall unit AC kicked butt. The price is the best we found in the area and he location is great. Right next to local entertainment and recreation. read more

Needed a place to stay while in Dunnellon visiting sick family member and the Dinner Bell Motel was perfect. The motel is definitely retro but my room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the price was very reasonable. I will stay here again the next time I am in Dunnellon. read more

Clean. Very clean place to stay. We stayed there, since we planned to go to the springs and the proximity couldn't be better! It's also very close to Blue Gator too which is the local restaurant/hangout place. We walked over there for dinner. Tons of fisherman stay at the motel. The parking lot was empty when we left in the morning even though it was full the night before. Boats too. People respected the "non smoking" rules in the rooms and therefore hung outside. We didn't have any issues with noise though. Pretty quiet inside. The only issue we had with the motel is the beds. They were pretty lumpy. The mattresses could be updated. read more

My sisters and I visited family near Dunnellon and stayed at Dinner Bell motel for 4 nights in April 2018. This motel was exactly as advertised. What you need without the bells and whistles. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, we had a small fridge and microwave and the room stayed nice and cool during warmer days. They were happy to provide us with anything additional we needed (more pillows, hair blow dryer, additional towels, wash cloths, etc.). They even provided a free washer/dryer for their guests. The only thing we thought was strange was when we checked in at 7:30pm, there was an after hours door you had to go to and the lady would only peek out a small window for us to check in. My sisters called it the Wizard of Oz door. It worried me on that first night that this was not a safe neighborhood. But it turned out to be fine and we felt safe the rest of our stay. We even walked to a few of the restaurants the next few nights without any concern at all. It was a funny story that we took away from this trip. read more
