Well basically I'm a huge Toronto nerd and love to go check out all the cool quirky things the city has to offer- one of them being the wacky houses! This one is located in Leslieville just east of Pape on Queen. Once you turn onto Bertmount just keep walking, you obviously can't miss it! It's really cool! Maybe a little freaky to some but I definitely appreciate the efforts put into it! Because it's October they also had some Halloween decorations in there! Definitely a cool place to check out..yes it might be weird to some but hey everybody is entitled to express themselves in any way they like. It's been a little while since I've been here and it was my first time in winter. It was cold! We had dinner at an AYCE buffet that was reserved for staff and their guests. Choices included turkey, breaded chicken, noodles, veggies, nachos, and more. The food was decent but our overall favourite was the squash soup - good flavour and perfect for the cold weather. After dinner, we wandered through the park, taking in some of the attractions. I was surprised to see so many of them open at this time of year, including one of the roller coasters. Huge kudos to the staff who were out in the frigid weather, especially in their costumes, and unheated attractions! Although WE were frozen, guests were having a great time, ice skating, enjoying all the attractions, especially the daily tree lighting show, and the food, even the frozen drinks! We had a great time but I could/should have dressed warmer. Next time...

They offer a few selections of coin exchange. For $90+ you can get their membership which gives you a better coin exchange rate and you can trade in your prize for other prizes behind the counter. We were just visiting so we did not get the membership. The prizes in the machines were decent. The plush were soft. My son loves the construction car's machine. For 2 coins you grab a car in the pile of cars in the middle and it drops it off on the platform to the side. Then jt gets pushed by the moving platform. When you have enough cars built up it will eventually fall down and you can pick up the fallen cars. Good place to kill some time and have some fun with my kid.

The rides operate on a rotated schedule. So half the rides are closed while the others run. Not a major problem. There's enough open to occupy families. I was shocked that the Wild West show is still going strong. A right of passed for every WNY child. Not sure if hearing gunshots from the kiddie area or water park is appropriate in this day and age but OK. The waterpark stole the show for me. There are slides or pools for every age. A small food stand with the usual fried food. It was clean. And there were lifeguards virtually every five feet. I felt very safe with my kids in the water (which was ice cold but refreshing on a blazing hot day). The train that goes around the park was enjoyable. Pretty cool can you use it for transportation from the camping lot all the way into the park. Do I recommend coming here frequently or buying a season pass? probably not. But I strongly recommend every family in the area stopping for a full summer day.

I would strongly caution families (especially those with young children) to reconsider before coming here until these issues are addressed. It's absolutely not what it once was.

I agree with sentiment of some other reviewers that the rides could use an upgrade. If it's first time your kid is riding, I would sit with them on slower rides. At least they had some animals (rabbits, donkey, horses, sheep?, goats, and Llamas). Food is the same that you would expect anywhere in an amusement. Pizzas, burgers, fries, etc. etc. Important note: When going back, you will see "Water Taxi" signs and "Ferry". Do not stand in massive line for Ferry. Compared to Canada's Wonderland, which I also grew up going to, we definitely prefer Darien Lake now. Wonderland's crowds are out of control, and it's just not worth the hassle anymore. At Darien Lake, you actually get your money's worth. The coaster lineup is solid for a smaller park, with highlights being: Ride of Steel Tantrum Viper The Predator Plus lots of other fun rides scattered throughout the park. As for the waterpark, it was just okay this time. The Lazy River is fairly basic, and two of the more popular slides were running slowly, causing bottlenecks. Not sure why, but the water was freezing cold, especially on slides like Tornado, still a great ride, but would've been more enjoyable with slightly warmer water. Yes, the park is a bit dated in areas and could use some TLC, but despite that, Darien Lake continues to be a lovable and worthwhile spot. Whether you're going for nostalgia or just want a fun, full day without the chaos of bigger parks, this place still hits.
