This review is partially for Dino's specifically, and partially for their line of business. Think long and hard about why you have a storage unit. The business model thrives on inertia. If you need a unit for a specified period of time due to a move etc., and you know when you expect to leave before you start, that's good. If you'll "get to it someday," that's bad. See above -- think long and hard about why you have a storage unit. That said, I was a long-time (too long) customer who paid rent faithfully every month via credit card autopay. That card expired. I paid the bill immediately upon finding out, but Dino's would not rescind the late fee despite my years of support. I was late, and it's their right to charge a late fee. But getting nickel and dimed after spending (wasting) thousands of dollars is annoying. The units themselves: ok, but there were signs of rodents. read more

Nicki the office lady is wonderful. She is so patient and understanding. She's been working with me for a few months now and she's extremely helpful. When I was late with my monthly payment she was kind and understanding and still kept the boss vibe but in a professional manner. Love this woman. Horrendous Customer Service and Overpriced - Stay Away! My experience with Dino's Storage in Omaha has been nothing short of awful. Their customer service is abysmal. They never answer the phone--I've called countless times, left messages, and not once has anyone gotten back to me. It's like they just don't care about their customers or their concerns. On top of that, they are extremely overpriced for the terrible service they provide. After six years of being a loyal customer without ever making a late payment, I ran into an issue with my credit card company that caused one payment to be late. You would think they'd show some level of understanding or appreciation for a long-time customer, but no--they flat-out refused to waive the late fee despite my perfect payment history. This company clearly has no interest in customer satisfaction or loyalty. They're more than happy to gouge you with ridiculous fees and ignore you when you try to reach them. Do yourself a favor and look for another storage facility in Omaha that actually values its customers. Avoid Dino's Storage at all costs! read more

I would give Dino's a zero if not for the facility, which was clean and well kept. However, There are many little things wrong (and a few BIG ones), which add up. Things like there is no readily available bathroom after hours, and the lights on my aisle were slow to come on, if at all; often there is no available cart to move boxes on, and if a moving truck is in the lot, there is little extra room to maneuver. Aside from all that, the very WORST aspect of storage with Dino's is the system, by which I mean the online portal, and the attitude of the on-site people. The onsite people have always been snarky and condescending to me. They act like we are imposing on them to ask for a locker, and then later like we the customer are supposed to know everything about Dino's that they do, and we are stupid for not knowing. Today I went in to tell them that I was done, I had emptied my locker, it was clean, and I was going to take my lock off, and wondered if there was anything else they needed (I'd been in two days before and finished moving out of the locker). The response was (and I'm paraphrasing here) "you can't get your lock because you are behind on payments and you are locked out. You owe $15.46." I said, OK, let me get my lock, and I'll pay you while I'm here. I was told "you can't take your lock off -- you can't even get in the building while you are locked out, and we don't accept payment here, why not just pay with your phone." I should have told her, but didn't, that I don't make payments with my phone. I just said "you are fu*king ridiculous" and walked off. I went home paid the $15.46 ( I actually paid $20.00 just to avoid any quibbling), then went back with the printed receipt. The attendant now had two beefy dudes with her. I walked into the office and showed the receipt to her, and she said (snarkily) "your lock is already off-- I got the notice." And giving me back the receipt, said "here, take this." I didn't need it, of course, she was just being confrontational I didn't angrily confront the two beefy dudes -- I wish I had (the Walter Mitty in me) -- I just got out of there, went to my locker, got my lock and left. The point being (of all this) I should never had to angrily confront anyone throughout all of this at my locker provider of 8 years, when all I wanted was to give them a polite heads up that I was leaving. A little training would help the customer service people be polite, instead of condescending. Just saying "OK, I see what you want, or I see your confusion, and -- let me help you; instead of making us all feel stupid for not knowing what the in-house rules/policies at a local storage facility are. I've had a locker there for 7 or 8 years. Paid my bills. And this is what I get. They put up Christian quotes on the billboard on the outside of their building, but their actions are more philistine than Christian. I've had lockers in KCMO, StL, Chicago, Orlando, Portland (OR), Houston, and Omaha (this company, but also another), and I've never been with a locker company that won't tell you what you owe (even when I went online, I couldn't get a balance, just a drop down for what I wanted to pay), and won't accept payment at the site (at least credit card). I'm sure they have a reason, but I don't want to hear it -- they SUCK! read more

My belongings were infested by tics. I moved everything out before the first of the next month and although I was told I wouldn't have to pay for the following month I was charged. It has now been almost 3 weeks and after 10 phone calls and promises from Courtney that my money would be refunded--nothing. It has been an absolute nightmare to say the least. read more

Tom Finch the manager of Dino's storage in the downtown Omaha area is an absolute pleasure to work with. I previously sought out another storage place for my needs but they didn't have the unit size I wanted so I ended up calling up Dino's the next day. Immediately after I called I was able to make an appointment with him and he reserved the unit for me until I got there. Upon meeting with Tom, he led me to the storage area and explained to me everything I needed to know. (Unlinke my previous experience with another storage facility, Affordable Self Storage, where the lady just handed me the keys and told me to find the unit myself if I wanted to take a look at it. Needless to say I was pretty dumbfounded at that.) Tom was the absolute polar opposite of my previous experience. And to top things off he even remembered my brother who used Dino's around 3-4 years ago. Wow! Now that's service. Tom's really dedicated to his work. He was able to snag me a super awesome storage close to the unloading entrance of the facility and for a very reasonable price as well. In terms of logistics, the prices are very reasonable for storage units. They have both climate controlled and non-climate controlled spaces depending on your needs. For fees, there's a $10 application fee, and in addition to your monthly fee, there's a $5/month extra charge for $1000 insurance plan (which seems like a sweet deal to me in case anything were to go awry). I highly recommend Dino's Storage especailly if you're in the downtown Omaha area. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

I would never ever trust a shady company like this. DO NOT rent any storage through Dinos. The prices listed online are false, first free month is a broken promise, fees constantly come up, and getting ahold of anyone is nearly impossible. I used Dino's for several months during a transition period. We sold our house prior to our new one being complete so we rented a small unit for our valuable items. The facilities were great and the price was very reasonable. They setup an automatic bill payment so I never had to deal with checks and the customer service was excellent. I will absolutely use Dino's for my future storage needs. read more

Tom Finch the manager of Dino's storage was very incredibly rude and inconsiderate. He was trying to sell me way more than I needed and when I said that I might look at another place he practically kicked me out. He was rude from the moment I walked it, I set up an appointment with him a week in advance, he wasn't aware I was coming, wasn't ready for me, and made me wait for about 10 minutes. No matter what you do, do not rent from Dino's. I would recommend Mid City Storage down the street, at least there they treat you like a human being. Tom was horrible to work with, the storage units were filthy, and the whole experience was terrible. read more

I'm pretty unpleased with their customer service at the Maple location. There was no communication between the property manager, and two office ladies with things that I had requested. They locked my door and am making me pay the additional fees. We have been faithful customers with them for the past few years. I shared with them that they will be losing my business and Dawn said that was just fine. That was so rude. I am so hurt and appalled that they would treat their customers that way. They were not willing to work together and find a solution that best fit both parties. read more

It is a particularly egregious form of hypocrisy when a company espouses Christian values in its advertising then practices NONE of them in their business practices. There was a hole in the roof of our unit the entire year we rented from them. Each time we told them about it we were assured it was fixed, and each time we checked it wasn't. More promises - none kept. After a year of frustration I moved my water damaged possessions out only to be told that the "insurance" that I had been paying for, wasn't insurance at all, rather a "protection plan" administered at the sole discretion of the company president. My claim for damages was initially denied. Only after several months of letters, a threat of lawsuit, and a personal visit to the owner of the company was a partial payment made. I am sure that Dino's does a fine job when there aren't any issues, but the measure of an organization is how they handle problems. By this measure they failed completely. I will NEVER use them again. read more
