Awesome and huge double- playground, cool Dino walk with all the life sized dinos and informational plaques for each, the quick animatronic "museum" was a fun touch for kids 12-ish and under, awesome gift shop with lots of cool stuff to look at, fun boneyard (giant sandbox where they can get their "archeologist" on and unearth a pretend stegosaurus, gem mine where they get to sift a bag of sand with gemstones (a cool activity they'll have fun with), and there's a fossil dig but it was shut down when we went due to weather. Absolutely worth the price!! This was a bigger hit with us and our 6 year old than the much more expensive safari at Fossil Rim. If you've gotta choose between em, choose this one- no contest!! read more

Great place to spend a few hours at. It's a little expensive, but fun. Extra for the gem mining, but that might've been one of the most fun things there. Long path of dinosaurs to walk down, with information on each one and benches periodically to rest at. You can buy fish food for $1 when you arrive. The fish seemed extra hungry, so if you can splurge and buy extra, they could have a nice feast. There's an excavation area where kids can uncover "bones" of a dinosaur. The gem mining is very cool. You get a large bag of rocks/sand, and clean it out in water to find gems. There's 2 playground areas with covered picnic tables to rest at. There is also a fossil discovery area for kids to find fossils. There's snack and vending machines, water fountains, and a gift shop of course. Wear walking shoes, bring water/snacks, and sunscreen! Tried to make a group reservation and they said they would not honor the discount listed on their website citing COVID as an excuse but told us to still bring the group in. Seriously? They don't want to give the discount "because COVID" but hey, still come in anyway and pay full price because somehow us not offering a clearly listed discount will decrease the chances of COVID. Now to be clear I have no problem paying full price, we are going to now take our group to the FT Worth Zoo instead and spend more than we would have going here. What I do have a problem with is this business taking advantage of a situation to refuse to honor discounts to make more money. The bottom line here is they were just being greedy and wanted to milk us for all we had. They aren't concerned about health or safety or they would have said, "Sorry but don't bring your group here." Instead they are saying, "Hey, no discount but definitely still come in because we aren't actually concerned with public health, we just want to use that to make more off you than we normally would!" read more

This was a great, manageable amusement park. We took our little ones (2 and 4) and they had a great time. Their favorites things were the hands-on activities. They thought the dinosaurs were fun, but they really got the most out of the fossil dig, boneyard, and playground. The Dino trail and museum with the animatronics were fun, but don't be expecting a Smithsonian experience or anything. There is plenty of shade over the picnic areas, but I could see it just being too hot to come here in the summer. The gift shop was great as well. Not bad prices and it helped us spend 20 minutes before the fossil dig! read more

Setting is best for 2-3 year olds. Overpriced for what you get: a mediocre play ground, cement walkway with cartoon like dinosaur statues, a handful of fossils on display (same you can buy at many roadside stores) and out dated animatronic dinosaurs that desperately need some WD-40. It's sort of sad, I feel like people think they're stopping at the Dinosaur State park when they pull in because it's right near the entrance to the State Park where you can see real dinosaur footprints, this place is just a tourist rip off in my opinion. Spent $60 to get in, spent another $25 to do a gem and rock sifting activity (the only activity they offered right now which cost extra and no staff to help). No snacks, no food, just a soda machine for $2 a bottle that's out of stock on half the contents. This place needs some Love and the staff has lost their smiles. read more

Will not disappoint. Great attraction for the Littles even the bit older. Have a toddler and a almost teen and they were both pretty excited about everything. A great place to visit. So overdue on visiting. I learned a lot, as an adult there. However, it is murder to visit in summer time and there needs to be more rest areas and shaded area and drinking fountains. Otherwise, I loved it there. The sculptures are very authentic. Had a great time here with our kids. Kind of pricey ($60+ for four, though we paid extra for the fossil dig and gem hunting for two kids) but there's a lot to see and do. Tons of cool dinosaur statues on a nice, short hike. Huge gift shop with every kind of dinosaur, and a museum too. A fair-sized playground that it looks like you can rent for birthday parties. It does get hot, but it's Texas so I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised. And it's just up the road from the creationism "museum" so that's, um, fun. The koi fish are like piranhas, whoa. Bottom line is the kids had fun, it broke up a long drive, and the kids came out of it very excited about dinosaurs, which is perfect. read more

We went here before Fossil Rim's "Discovery After Dark." The outdoor park with various giant dinosaurs, & signs telling about each dinosaur, was wonderful! It was a nice day outside. I would rather be outside learning that inside any day! The gift store was nice! I bought a really cute purple t-shirt with silver imprint. They also had an inside museum that had a lot of information. At end, they had mechanical dinosaurs that "roared" and moved their heads. Children might be scared of that! Which you pick a geode and break it and beautiful crystals are in the center! Cool place right before Dinosaur Valley State Park. My kids loved it, the area with the robotic dinosaurs was pretty neat. It's a decent size walking trail with a lot of different dinosaur figures and small description of said dinosaur. The only negative thing I can say is that the employees lacked enthusiasm. Decided to take a nice little trip to the Glen Rose Area with the family and have to say the kids really enjoyed this place. The dinosaurs are well done, and while you can't touch them or play on them, (Not that climbing a statue of a dinosaur ever makes sense) the boys enjoyed the walking area. As you make your way through there are various dinosaurs to learn about. Included with each child admission they give tickets to their guided fossil dig and the boys really enjoyed walking away with three little fossils they unearthed with their sifting tools. They also have two side by side playgrounds and the boys enjoyed running around and playing with other kiddos. It was a great activity for a visit to Glen Rose. read more

Our boys had a good time and enjoyed all the dinosaurs along the walking path. The museum was interesting and they enjoyed the animatronic dinos at the end. The park as a whole could use some routine maintenance and a little facelift would go a long way. Some of the plaques weren't legible because of severe sun damage and the animatronics could use some grease. The staff was mediocre at best and it was pretty obvious they were only there for the paycheck. The lady running the gem excursion wasn't helpful at all and literally picked her nose and looked at her nails while my son was looking for gems. Had to ask several questions because she just handed us the bag and pointed to the sign that said what to do. read more

This was such a fun place to explore! During COVID, a few of the attractions were closed and instead of just apologizing, they adjusted the rates accordingly. Therefore, at $8 per person it was a bargain! The trail was a nice long but easy walk - perfect for stretching your legs after a long ride. All the dinosaurs were well maintained and while they weren't the most realistic I've seen (the eyes felt a little flat) they had a good variety and instead of it just being one specimen of each species care was put into making sure there were families with multiple ages represented if the species traveled as a family unit or a pack of pack hunters. The museum was designed perfectly for social distancing and had a nice little collection of fossils and some animatronic exhibits (not the most cutting edge but my nine year old enjoyed them). The shop had a nice variety of gifts that had a wide range of prices so there was something for everyone. I highly recommend this as an activity and I'd plan to spend between 1-2 hours on your trip. read more

Ok heres the deal, it was soo not worth the high admission to get it. My kids ages 9,6,4 were going through the exhibit like it was a marathon. It was sad. The museum was smaller than the gift shop!!!! We paid extra so the kids could go through the fossil dig and found lots of bones, and teeth and when it was time to leave they told us they could only keep 3 items that they found. It was just a very sad experience. My boyfriend gets into every place we go with the kids but he couldn't wait to get out of there like the rest of us. Kids loved it! We spent a couple of hours here after walking the dinosaurs foot prints at the national park next door and it was the perfect way to finish the day for my little ones. They had a chance to walk the park and see all their favorite dinosaurs up close, check out the boneyard, the museum and finch up with a dig for fossils that they get to keep! We were very surprised and pleased with dinosaur world. Wasn't sure what to expect so our hopes weren't too high. We purchased normal admission for me and my husband and we got our 5 year old son the ticket that included the fossil dig and the excavation. We began our journey on the 1/2 mile path that you follow and you can see all of the life size dinosaur models. It seems like we were the first ones there so we got to take our time. The path is well shaded with all of the trees. At the half way mark there is a small lake with a lot of Koi fish. If you want to you can purchase fish food when you are buying your tickets. We opted out of that but the fish still came to greet us as we walked down the deck. The fossil dig was at a set time so we did that. Our son got a sifter and a cup and at the end you can pick three items that you dug out. The other activity we purchased was the excavation. You get a bag of dirt and you get to use the water way and the sifter to sift out the crystals in your bag of dirt. This was the best so far. They also have a large play area as well as benches so you can enjoy the lunch that you brought. Then there is a boneyard area which is a covered sand pit where the kids can uncover the cement bones that are underneath the sand. Overall I would revisit dinosaur world again. We were there for about 2 hours. read more

We had a terrific day! It is a must-do if the weather is pleasant and you have the time. We weren't sure what to expect but we're totally impressed with how well done the park is. The Dino's were life-size and impressive. Our boys are 8 and that's a terrific age for this experience. We would absolutely go back and recommend it to others. read more

This was a neat destination for our family of 5 who includes a dinosaur loving 5 year old. We found it definitely kid friendly for our young family (siblings are twin 2 year olds). They had animated dinosaurs on the museum, a fossil dig site, large playground area and of course the large dinosaurs. We spent a couple hours and the kids loved it. Tourist trap! If you have to go and are on a tight budget, skip the high price of admission and tell the kids the gift shop is the attraction (the gift shop is HUGE), tour the gift shop and buy them a souvenir. The admission price is way too steep for what you get. If admission was 1/2 the cost I would of given 4 stars. The kids really enjoyed it though (3 and 5 years old). What a tourist trap!!! I knew it is not the State Park and asked the cashier 3 times is this the state park? She will not answer me, they were trained to trap tourists and they also wearing ranger's alike uniform. I rather they are more upfront and be honest about it. Our first time to Dinosaur World was "dino"mite!! It was pretty easy to navigate through and it was long enough to give us a break from driving and short enough to keep our 3 yr old entertained the whole time. 5 stars because of cleanliness, simplicity, gift shop, and entertainment was as advertised. The hike is roughly 0.5 miles and has Dinosaurs around every corner. Midway through there is a pond to feed the fish (you get a small sandwich size bag with fish food). After circling back to the front they have a "fossil dig" where you simply dig up small pieces of fossils. You may find 50 but you can only keep 3. All the kids that were there seemed to be having a great time - this is roughly 15 min. They have a museum that half is bones and the other half is automated Dinosaurs. Should you choose to read all the facts it may take you some time, but again, the 3 year old was ready for Dinosaurs. The museum was a great place to take a break from the Texas summer heat. Outdoor picnic area was super clean and all shaded. Kids playground was nice but too hot for us. There is a gem excavation activity where the kiddo got to splash in some water while looking for gems. Big gift shop with a lot of toys. Tips - take a small cooler with some cold water and some sandwiches. All in all this was a fun place to go, we would likely stop there again when we drive through. read more

It was a little expensive for what I got. I like the life size statues, but I think that the rest of it wasn't really worth it. They don't give out the wifi password at all to anyone. They time you when you are digging for fossils even when there is no one in line. The fish pond platform was VERY underwater and they never mentioned that to us and still sold us fish food for them even though we had to basically find a clearing in the bushes surrounding it and throw it out form there making sure that the kid didn't fall in. It was OK, but considering the price and all the other things that I did in that area I thought maybe they could have been more helpful or at least offered a discount for those who were only going to be there an hour on a weeknight. I did get to take lots of pictures and my daughter thought the playground was awesome, so overall I'm glad I went, but won't be back. read more

We had an incredible time at Dinosaur World! For two adults and one child, it was $45 and a little pricey. We got to mine for some gems, go on a fossil dig and learn about a ton of dinosaurs. They had a fish pond that had huge fish and a lot of them! My daughter is 6 and she found the playground to be the best part. As a parent, it was safe and comfortable to let her run around. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. It was great to be able to take home souvenirs too! A must see for anyone interested in outdoor fun and dinosaurs. This place is not huge but it's good Specially for the kids who loves dinosaurs. we finished almost 1/2 -1 hour to see dinosaurs and kiddos were reading what has written. then 1 hour for a break and fossil dig/ gem excavation. Park doesn't have food available so we had taken our food and did picnic it was fun. There are lots of tables like a picnic spot next to the park inside which is not very far from parking spot. So you can go in/out as long as you have wrist band. Kids had fun. We did attend fossil dig at 12. It was ok. Even Gem excavation is fun for kids. Why I gave 4 stars as there were 2 dogs running around happily and jumped over on our kids and on me had got little scratch and we were stuck between for 5-10 mins as we didn't wanted to move as they kept jumping on us and we had to call the person who works there. They should have tie them up. Just an concern:) .Overall we had a good time a day trip to Dino world. read more

I first visited this place in 2009 and loved it! My son was less interested in seeing the dinosaurs than I was(he ran through it to get to the gift shop). The settings, details and renderings of the dinosaurs are very impressive! Kids can dig for fossils, there were drink machines available last time we were there and the gift shop has a lot to offer. My son insisted on buying a Godzilla figure, which really wasn't accurate, but it showed up in so many subsequent photos, it became one of our prized possessions. Be sure to take your time (not run like my son did) and enjoy the dinosaurs, but also the tranquility of the place. It is on a pretty piece of land. read more
