The store itself is so aesthetically pleasing and very cute! Lovely decor and very picturesque like you could just sit down there for a bit and hang out with some girlfriends. The lady running the store also was very friendly and kind. She explained all the different types of items they have that were the chocolate peanut butter thdnet, with a lot of appealing options. But we ended up just going for the classic buckeye balls. As far as the taste - phenomenal! The chocolate and peanut butter flavor went perfectly well together and they were not too sweet or peanut buttery or anything. Everything was perfectly balanced. Very yummy! It also came with an Ohio shaped chocolate in the package, which was very thoughtful in my opinion.

Holy Chocolate, Candyman!…read more Ruby's is a very small store but this is truly a case of "it's not what's on the outside, but what's on the inside"! And what is inside, is SWEEEEET! I dare anyone not to overbuy at Ruby's. Furthermore, I dare anyone to walk out with just one thing or even have an easy time deciding what to take home. I've prepared tax forms easier than trying to make the decisions I had to make at Ruby's. So here are some examples of what I brought home: Milk Chocolate Turtle Bark Dark Chocolate Turtle Bark Cookies 'n' Cream Bark Milk Chocolate Covered Rice Krispy Treat Red Velvet Truffle Cake Mint-to-be Truffle Maple Bacon Truffle Cake (you will never find a cuter confection in your entire life!) Carrot Cake Truffle Cake Bacon Brownie Truffle Cake Cookies 'n' Cream Truffle Cake Milk Chocolate Squares Truffle Sampler Box Gummy Worms Joy Sticks I believe my take home list illustrates my personal lack of self control and how good Ruby's is. It was actually somewhat embarrassing and shocking to actually write it out. If you're looking g for something specific, and you don't see it, ask for it. If you're looking to do something specific, personalized or creative - call them. They will be more than willing to work with you. Beautifully and creatively decorated, Ruby's is a cool little spot to visit. It is a candy wonderland with a little bit of something for everyone. Whether you're buying a treat for the kids or want to bring something different and really make a splash with a gift, you need to stop in. You won't be disappointed. Would I go back? Yes, but..... In speaking with the owner Sina, we connected that there is another location closer to me in the Liberty Township, OH area. This location was about an hour from me, in rush hour traffic. So I may not frequent this location, I was very happy to hear of the other location in my area. Myself, my dentist and future endocrinologist are all looking forward to my return to another Ruby's Chocolate's location!

We were greeted upon entry and advised that everything along the wall was Mix 'n Match in a bag for a little over $6/lb. Central tables hold additional packaged candies to browse, including some that one doesn't see as often, like Clark Cups and Cow Tales. A selection of nuts and nut/dried fruit mixes are also available. There was plenty to choose from and everything has been enjoyed!

They sell everything from retro candies (candy cigarettes [!], candy necklaces, pop rocks;) chocolate-covered nuts and gourmet chocolates (truffles, cordials, creams;) pick and mix (taffy, hard candy;) nuts of all sorts; and every other kind of candy you can think of (gummies, licorice, seasonal.) They also have gift baskets, gift bags for the pick and mix, and various individually priced candies (candy bars, lollipops, gum.) The prices range from 39 cents for a lollipop, by the quarter pound ($6.29 per pound) for pick and mix and by the quarter pound for nuts and candy housed in sealed bins and a chocolate case. I got eight dark chocolate cherry cordials for $5. A good price for high-end chocolate, and so smooth and delicious, I think they're going to become a habit. One side note, the shopkeeper had her mid-size dog in the store. She had a sign up saying he was gentle, but this was a dog running around, and that jumped on me several times. (I use a cane right now.) I didn't think it was customer-friendly for all.

Today, we exercised a bit more self control. My hubby and I visit weekly. We get 2 slices, different flavors. We plan to try them all. There are so many flavors!! The cheesecake is divine!! Haven't had a flavor we have not loved. A couple I HIGHLY recommend are the blueberry crumble and the lemon supreme. If you are more of a rich, decadent flavor... the chocolate crunch and the peanut butter cup. Wednesday is buy one slice, get the second 50% off.

While the space itself isn't large, they had an impressive selection of cookies, cakes, and cheesecakes for a Wednesday afternoon--plenty to tempt you the moment you walk in. I went straight for the bourbon caramel swirl cheesecake, and that's when things got even better. The girl behind the counter casually mentioned they use Weller's bourbon . Even better? She proudly said she gets to eat whichever flavor she wants. I joked that sounded like a great perk--she laughed and revealed she's actually the daughter of the owners. Loved that little personal touch. My wife is more of a traditionalist and chose the original cheesecake with caramel swirl. She said it was incredibly creamy and very good. Mine was just as creamy, with a noticeable punch of bourbon flavor balanced perfectly by the caramel, and finished with a crispy, satisfying crust. Bottom line: definitely good, definitely delicious. This is the kind of place that makes you plan your next visit before you've even finished your slice. I would absolutely return for another piece (or two) Unfortunately, I ate my cheesecake but I snap a photo. I couldn't wait! lol!
