Holly, who says she has 20 years of experience, ended up cutting him so badly under his arm that we had to take him to the emergency vet. To their credit, they did cover the vet bill -- but that's where the care stopped. No follow-up call, no check-in to see how he was doing, and not even a partial refund for the service. For a place that claims to love dogs, the silence afterward said a lot. Milagro is healing, thankfully, but I'd think twice before trusting them with your fur baby. The grooming experience was pretty seamless. We came in as first timers. I only had one specific request was to not cut her eyelashes. She was ready within two hours picked her up. I only looked in one eye and there were eyelashes, but her eyes did look very thick. The grooming wasn't very clean around the eyes however but the rest of her looked good. I got her home. I realize that all the eyelashes on the other eye were gone, which is what I believe the Groomer did was not cut around the eyes very much to try to hide that and I just feel like that's being shady. I would go back if not for that because the rest of my baby looked great. Just be upfront and say you accidentally cut all her eyelashes off on one eye. read more

if you own a doodle, DO NOT GO HERE! Just picked up my golden doodle and I am absolutely pissed with his cut. We brought him in with longer hair, a few mats but they weren't terrible. We wanted to leave his fur as long as possible and when we picked him up he was shaved. He has a cut on his neck that's pretty nasty. His face and snout are all different lengths. I honestly feel bad for my dog. Wasn't worth the $140 cut plus my wife is too nice and left a $20 tip. If anyone has suggestions for a doodle groomer please let me know. read more

This was my first experience with Dippity Do Dog and I was quite excited because of the reviews I had heard from others. it all started with the fact that I couldn't access a website for them so I call instead. The call goes through the first time and I make my appointment with ease. Day of appointment I show up with my dog and remind them that this is her first time being groomed thus I understand she might not be on her best behavior or having a pleasant time in general. About an hour into her appointment I try calling them to clarify some information and their phone line is down???? i call multiple times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke but still nothing. At pick up they were very rude and did not even attempt cutting her hair and suggested we let them shave her down completely. They said it would be our only option with them because she "was so matted" which is the further thing from the truth. Yes my dog has an interested hair texture but I personally brush her out with a wide tooth metal comb and a larger brush so there may be minor matting but not enough to shave her down. Plus for them to have taken my number to call if they needed to reach me but couldn't tell this all to me till pick up is such a bad business model. Because you have now wasted my time and let my dog most likely sit in a crate for a majority of the time I thought she was getting groomed. I thought it was time for a current review for this grooming salon. I brought in my two little rescued Yorkies for full grooming. They are always cute IMHO but definitely needed a bath and groom. When I picked them up they were beautifully groomed! I particularly liked that they do not keep the dogs all day -- they make an appointment and groom them within a short time period, which I prefer so they are not caged all day. Their cuts were just what was requested and the Yorkies did not seem to mind being there at all, which was a good sign. I brought my Golden here after reading the reviews on yelp and then went to FB to view their photos of pets they have groomed to see the kind of work they did and was very happy with what I seen! I called to set an appointment and the lady was such a sweetie who answered! I explained what I wanted done and she was very understanding. She got my golden in the following day! Perfect!!!! I was very happy from the phone call alone! :) Upon dropping off my dog, I was greeted with a smile. The place is cute and very clean. My golden is usually terrified of the groomer but here he was much calmer. Yeah!!!! That made me happy! My golden was ready in 3 hours. Very pleased with that :). I picked him up and was SO happy!!! They did an amazing job!! My boy never looked so good! They gave us treats to take home with him and put a cute scarf on him. He smelled amazing!! I am blown away on how awesome he looked. They also said when we get home if there is something we see they missed or want some area on him cut more to bring him in and they will do it at no cost. The following day they called us to make sure we were happy! Talk about customer service!!! They are a bit pricey (paid about $85) but well worth it!!! A few days later we received a card thanking us for coming in and being new customers! The card was adorable! This was a wonderful touch and really shows they appreciate your business!! Lastly they had our boys pic up on their FB page the following day. How cute is that? I highly recommend them! Your pet will be in great hands and come out looking like a prince or princess! We were the first appointment of the day at 7:30 am, and the staff and groomers were all cheery, and took the time to make detailed notes about how we wanted our toy poodle cut. They said it would take 3 hours, and it only took 2 & 1/2. Our groomer Sarah did a FANTASTIC job, and even took the time to come out to meet with us to talk about how it went. The first time I took my toy poodle, she looked fine when I picked her up. The second time her top knot was completely ruined, and I had to cut it to even it out when I got home. I couldn't take her back because they were closing. I figured, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. The third time I took her, I informed them of the last grooming appointment, and I was assured that that would not happen again. When I picked her up after the third grooming appointment, she had a big bow in her top knot, which I thought was a little odd, as I never request bows. When I got her home and took the bow out, I realize that they tried to cover up the fact that they had taken out a huge chunk in her top knot so they tried to hide it with a bow so they could charge me $80. I understand that mistakes can be made, but to try to hide it and not be upfront is not acceptable. She is not a difficult groom and I've had her groomed many times before with no issue at a local groomer that closed their doors. I called and left a message for the owner to call me back, but apparently she doesn't even live in town and is not there. I have yet to hear from her. If you take your dog, I would request an experienced groomer, and I would check to make sure that what you asked for is what you got. I would definitely not pay until you examine your pet. read more

Two other well known places in town we have tried act as if they are not sure how to cut a doodle with well brushed hair. These ladies know what they are doing. This is my new go to place to get my dog groomed. My wife and I have a West Highland Terrier, Westie, and have never found a groomer that can give us a great Westie cut. That was until we brought him to Dippity Do Dog. The staff here was extremely friendly on the phone and in person. I gave them a run down of what my wife and I wanted our dog's cut to be like, and they nailed it. A cool thing about this place, if you get home and notice something is wrong with the cut, you can bring your dog back in the following day and they'll fix it at no cost. For the quality haircut and bathing service they offer, the price is more than reasonable. I think our total bill was less than $60. That included bathing, grooming, and nail trimming. We used to take our dog to Petco, and for the same service it was $65+. read more

I am sad that Dippity do dog has lost my business because I have spoken so highly and recommended them to many people. I used to live closer but moved in December. Even though I now lived a half hour away, I continued to drive to Dippity do dog because I felt comfortable bringing my pup there. That is, until this recent visit on Saturday. I dropped my dog off at noon, her appointment time. The girl at the front told me they would text when she was done but they close at 4pm so to plan on being there by then regardless. That was fair, the usual appointment is around 3 hours. At 3:15pm I still had not received a text that she was done but figured it had to be soon and since they are a half hour away, I headed over to pick her up. I arrived at 3:45pm, they asked who I was picking up, and then proceeded to tell me they hadn't even started cutting my dog yet. I questioned that I thought they closed at 4 and said to be back by then, she said yes but they are running behind. My first question here is why was I not called or texted to be told they are running late and that she was not going to be ready on time before 4pm? She asked if I lived close, I said no and she said ok and then went to ask how long until they would be cutting my dog's hair. The groomer said she was next. I saw them bring my dog to the table and put the collar on her but then the groomer who was supposed to be working on her stopped for a candy break. No wonder they were behind. There was no sense of urgency even though they were late and I was waiting in the lobby. Around 4pm the groomer poked her head through the open window to tell me that my dog's tail was matted and that she didn't have time to work on it so the only options were to leave it and I do it myself or shave her tail bald. I asked if she could cut part of it off and then I could brush out the rest of it. She said no, she would only shave it bald or not touch it. I said just leave it then and that I would hand cut it. I sit back down, waiting for her to finish. Not even 2 minutes later, they started gossiping about how I was dumb to not know her tail was matted and that next time they wouldn't even call to ask and that they would shave her even if I didn't like it. Finally after a few minutes of them talking about me the front desk girl was smart enough to remind them I was sitting right there, obviously able to hear them. I was in shock. I continued to wait and began to listen to how the groomer was talking to my dog. The groomer had no sense of kindness toward my dog. She said things like, "you suck" "you're like the 15th dog I've done today and I want to go home so I'm trying to hurry" and would continuously yell at her to stop moving. I was appalled. Finally at 4:15 I paid and they were done. It was not their best cut and she was covered in her own hair from the razor. The groomer tried to tell me she was well behaved. If she was well behaved, why did you keep yelling at her? I took my dog and left. Not at any point in this whole time was there an apology for anything. Not about being behind, talking about me, and no discount or anything on my rate. I haven't seen the owner, Holly, there in a while so I don't know if that's why things have gone downhill but they have certainly lost my business after this experience. I hate this but after what I went through, heard, and saw, I would not recommend them to anyone. I have had my toy poodle Cherry groomed at Dippity for a couple of years. They always do a fabulous job and she seems to love going there. I like the fact that they have blankets in all the kennels and give them a break during grooming. (My baby has arthritis) They also get her finished much faster than at other places, and always tell me if they see anything that needs attention (ear infection or arthritic limping). DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If I could give ZERO stars,I would. I will never have my dog groomed here again. The worst cut he has EVER had. They SHAVED a patch in between his eyes!!!!! WHY?! His ears don't match- one side is longer than the other. His back has one long patch at the top that is sticking up. Hair is sticking out everywhere. His hair has never stuck up like that. Only half of his stomach area was cut. The list goes on. The whole thing is all choppy. It looks like a toddler got a hold of a pair of scissors. This is the most half ass job I have ever seen. Clearly they don't know what they are doing or just don't care enough to even do a DECENT job. This is why they make you pay and tip BEFORE you see your dog. Because if you saw the terrible job they did first, you wouldn't pay them a dime. This job they did on him isn't worth $7, let alone the $70 that was paid or a tip. I have a small yorkie who is the most well behaved dog ever. He doesn't even bark. He's very still when he's being groomed and doesn't move a lot in general so I KNOW it wasn't because of him. After reading these other reviews it's clear that the owner doesn't care about the type of service that she or her employees are providing to their customers. Based on what others have said about their experience when trying to express their dissatisfaction to the owner and manager and being treated so rudely it's not even worth the headache. This place has definitely lost another customer. I will be taking my money elsewhere. And I will be sure to spread the word to everyone that I know who has a fur baby. read more

First and last visit. I have an Registered Long Hair Chihuahua, also a Registered Service Dog. We made an appointment for a bath, shilloutte cut, nail trim, furminator. He weighs 9.2 lbs, charges were $68.40. You can compare this to prices on website. My furbaby had poop and hair all over his bottom. His nails were split and rough cut. Within 12 hours he was vomiting and developed diarrhea. We ended up at at Vet. A shot to stop Vomiting, 7 days of antibiotics, special GI diet for a week, $$. Very expensive bath. I think I will stick with my groomer at the Vet's office. I did speak with the owner, waste of time, she is right regardless of what you say. read more

Now, my dog has a cut, down to the tendons and no one knows how it happened. Took my dog straight from the groomers to the vet for stitches. I asked the owner if she would consider helping with bill. The store is super cute, but they added money to the cost of my dog's groom and could not explain why. They said the price for a 27 pound dog is $55. When I picked up my dog, they refused to honor the first time customer discount of $5 that is offered on their website. And then told me the total was more than $65. I asked how much the grooming cost, and the woman said "$55, so with tax, that's about right." I explained that $55 plus tax is not $65+, and she said, "That's just how it ends up when we put it in the register." I paid the total requested, but I won't be back. Our old groomer recently moved, so we were hoping this place would be a good replacement, but no such luck.
