This is the kind of store that I appreciate having while walking around in Pac Heights. It goes without saying but if you love fragrances, this is the place to be. It will fulfill your fragrance cravings for scents that are bourgeois and full of depth. I couldn't help myself given my compulsion to want to smell new scents.. My love of fragrance started way back in high school when I was constantly at either Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret buying up all the body sprays. What made this visit to Diptyque particularly nice was their sales associate Frances. I had the pleasure of meeting Frances as I casually wandered in. Like usual, I'm picking up random lids of their famous candles and inhaling their scents. Frances approaches me and we had the nicest conversation over our mutual love of fragrance. He is one of those people that has a real passion for perfume and takes his time to explain not only the notes each fragrance has but how they can make you feel. When I explained how a specific fragrance (in this case a new one called "Lilyphea") and how it smelled like a warm hug, Frances understood completely. Unlike some other high end stores that can come off as snooty or arrogant, this store is anything but. The sales associates here in my experience have been down to earth, easy to talk to and care to build the most important thing with their clientele-- relationships. Luxury stores can sometimes feel intimidating, but I had a lovely visit at Diptyque recently. The store is beautiful and obviously smells amazing. I love that the notes for each fragrance are so clearly listed, and I really appreciated the detail of the mirror being angled to show the illustration on the back of the bottle. Patty answered my questions about the packaging for the eau de toilette vs the eau de parfum, some specific fragrance notes I wasn't familiar with, and sent me home with a sample of my favorite scent. How lucky are we to have this beautiful Diptyque brick and mortar in San Francisco. I find myself on Fillmore often and love stopping by my favorite perfumery. The scents here are unique, complex, and long lasting. My wife and I stopped in recently to select our signature scents for our wedding. My best friend and I visited this location for the first time and it's such a beautiful storefront! We were helped by the sweetest associate named Karen. She was so thorough in servicing us, making sure she showed us her favorites. She also went through explaining the difference in scents and explained the scent choices in the discovery set my best friend was looking at. Refused the free candle I've received on my birthday with zero issues prior to today and then made a point to yell "thanks for coming in!" In the snarkiest tone. I stopped by while walking to Japantown and was immediately impressed by the store's elegant interior and beautifully arranged perfume displays. The packaging is stunning, with each perfume accompanied by a card that not only shows the name but also describes the scent profile (like floral or woody), which is helpful since the names alone aren't always intuitive. You can spritz the test perfumes onto the cards for a preview of the scent, which makes it easy to explore the various options. I noticed that the perfumes are grouped by packaging color: 1) White packaging perfumes are described as lighter and more subtle. 2) Black packaging perfumes are stronger, with a higher concentration. In terms of price, you're looking at $130 for a 50ml Eau de Toilette and $230 for 100ml, which reflects the luxury of the brand. My personal favorites were Eau Rose and Vetyvrio--both offered a sweet and fresh scent. The service was fantastic. The gentleman who assisted me was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the most popular fragrances. I also found out they offer free carrier deliveries within San Francisco if you order online! Yes, the perfumes are expensive, but the fragrances are truly exceptional and something you have to experience in person to appreciate fully. Visited with my little fur ball a few weeks ago while browsing around on Fillmore. This store looks beautiful and smells so good. I used to occasionally buy their candles from Nordstrom, so this store is very convenient. The friend whose apartment I subletted in Manhattan had a Diptyque candle and perfume, so as soon as I got back to SF, I looked into Diptyque! I biked over to the Fillmore and parked my bike outside. The interior is beautiful--it reminded me of Paris! The man who helped me was so helpful, kind, thoughtful, welcoming, and warm--I cannot talk positively enough about him! I visited Diptyque Fillmore today and was really blown away by Patrick's service. Patrick was friendly and informative. He introduced my friend and I to a body cream with her scent of choice and sure enough, she ended buying it also! This is the 5th Diptyque boutique I've visited in the Bay Area (First in the Financial District in San Francisco, then Palo Alto, third Valley Fair in San Jose, 4th was at the Marin Country Mart). Every single store has its own "vibe" and this location touched my heart because of how cozy I felt inside. Again, Patrick's service made this visit memorable! Diptyque is a pretty penny and a personal investment. Patrick made this investment too easy and guilt free! I saw the Ilio marketing on IG and I just had to try it. Ok...so my first review was no no experienced. Unsure of what changes with their place since I last went in but I thought of trying going in again. Went in and right away the atmosphere changes from the before experienced. The heaviness of the room is no longer there. Air seem to flow easier and you don't get that stuck up feeling from their sales rep. There were a different sales rep in there and she was helping another customer. I looked for what I need on the other side of the room. Right away Paris another sales rep or maybe a manager. I am unsure but he was bright,lifting,exuberant and fantastic aura of brightness surrounding him that makes you feel comfortable right away. He greeted me and asking if i needed help? I told him what I need is two of parfumerie d'interieur and a Gel Lavant Revigorant L'ART DU SOIN. He spoke about how these are perfect to refresh a interior of whatever room you are in. Apparently he is right. I have dogs and I do boarding a lot so my home needs to get some refreshing around the interior. Which I agreed and he was talking about his day also asking about mine. I need to tell you that it is 360' from what I first experienced. Quick to judge maybe is on my part but the first time experienced did not makes me undeterred to not try them again. I was happy with giving them the second round and to be honest. I would love to be their regular clients if I ran into Paris and the other female sales rep again. It is all about how much they can passed the judgement of how you dressed and look. I dressed like a dogwalker so not much to judge there and dogwalker have certain smell so it was a blessing that I didn't experience the same treatment like the first time around.
