Within minutes, he returned my personal tax documents by email, effectively ending the engagement during filing season. While his technical work on the corporate return was satisfactory, I found the communication and professionalism during this exchange deeply disappointing. Clients transitioning from another CPA may reasonably have clarification questions, and I did not feel those were handled constructively. Others may wish to consider communication style carefully when choosing a tax professional. Now I have to find someone new right in tax season with no referrals and no smooth transition.
