Service went from $90, which I had to negotiate last year. what a hassel. All of a sudden it's $130 a month. Called direct tv, got passed around to the loyalty dept. because I've had service forever. They can give me $20 off a month, that's it yet if I was a new customer signing up it would be $84 a month, plus a $200 gift card. Told the guy you take someone new over a customer that has provided your wages for the last umpteen years. Told him, less customers, less employees needed. Hands down the worst customer experience I have ever experienced or even heard of. Agent actually hung up on me, I was not even being rude. Let me quickly explain. Ordered satellite service for elderly mom. Upon arrival, install tech advised a dish could not be installed. Instead, the tech talked my mom into purchasing direct tv streaming. My mom is old! Does not understand streaming services. That should have been clearly evident. She was charged $123. The installing technician should have advised that A dish could not be installed and ended it. But whatever. My complaint is mostly with the CUSTOMER SERVICE. Trying to get an explanation of the charges, and a refund was a nightmare. Several hours on phone talking to agents that would not listen! The first rule of CS, LISTEN! I will spare you the details, but let me say this. I don't usually write reviews! I've dealt with direct tv before, and CS was never this bad. With streaming services like hulu, netflix,etc, and straight horrible customer service. I wish I could give No stars! Directv are LIARS! I signed up with them in April and was promised a Visa rewards card of 300.00 because I had such a hard time just signing up, which was actually just a move and they couldn't even get that right. So now I am wondering where my visa reward is, come to find out after waiting on hold for an hour that I don't get one because the window closed. They forget to send it and I get nothing. Directv refuses to refund my credit of $62 and the account was closed more than 50 days ago. I called 2 times to request the refund and updated my address and they still refuse to send the refund. They insist on sending the refund on a debit card yet they have my credit card info on file. I've called 4 other times to put in another credit request but hold times are 30 minutes or more. It's up to the Better Business Bureau and the attorney generals office now. Sickening experience. read more

Customer service is horrible! They don't keep good records, they don't know what they are doing! I was charged for 4 new receivers when they only sent me 2. I returned the 2 on Oct. 13th and it is now Nov. 23 and they say they never received them! I kept all my receipts and they indeed received them. This company offers you free services and then charges you for them. Unless you want to be frustrated beyond belief go to another provider! read more

Don't do it ! Horrible customer service ! Everyone there needs to be drug tested. I canceled my service October 1st. They continued billing me every month even though I canceled my service. I have one moron on the phone tell me that I want to connect to service that I had canceled. That was in December. I told him I haven't lived in that house for three months. It's almost March and my nightmare continues I just got a phone call that they want to bill me $60 for early cancellation fee . I ripped him a new ass cussing him out. Everyone told me to quit them for years and I didn't listen. Finally we got to an issue with on demand. Even a customer since 2012. Even since 2007 if you count my apartment days with my ex. I had certainly paid for it but it wouldn't get to me being able to watch it. They said my equipment was fine (through their scan) and couldn't explain why.3 departments later, all of them said they removed the charge (apparently not since other departments kept seeing it) they still told me there was nothing wrong with my system. But they were all over me to purchase more stuff. Asked to speak with a supervisor and Makaela told me that I couldn't. I told them that I've been on the phone for 2 hours and they still can't tell me what's wrong but want me to buy more? Get real!! I was never allowed to speak to a supervisor, even though I asked. So I cancelled. I've been paying for this "protective plan" on my devices every month but no one ever mentions that. It's just "I don't know, I'm so sorry". I fought with my husband to keep directv because I thought they had integrity and were honest. Apparently, that isn't the case anymore. Thanks AT&T. Exactly why I left you as a phone provider to begin with. Would rather pay premium Verizon prices than be treated that way. Also fun fact, they drill holes in your roof for their dish but won't repair them when you leave them. Hello leaky roof. Wrong, wrong wrong AT&T. I would give a negative star if allowed. Directv took funds out of my personal bank account without my permission. My husband had a directv account and when we got married I had made payments for him with my account in which he is not on. I was told by a supervisor today that since I was aware of my husbands debit therefore I was responsible. Due to being in hard times and someone totaling my new vehicle I contacted directv and told them to close the account send my the box to return the equipment and send a final bill. Once I return to employment the bill would be taken care of. The box was just received this past week. The supervisor I believe her name was Ren stated because I had made a payment with my debit card they had rights to withdrawal all money until account is paid in full. I know for a fact under federal guidelines that this is illegal. The account is not mine and we weren't married when the account was opened and at no time when making any payments online or on the phone was I ever read or told by doing so I give them permission to deduct my account at anytime. I have only ever authorized a one time payment. I explained that if my grandmother made a payment on my house does that mean shes now responsible. The supervisor was told that directv violated my rights. She gave me another number and said she couldn't help me. In the mean time I had borrowed money from family to keep me a float until I receive my first paycheck from my new job. I paid bills with them and since directv has deducted all this money I have now bounced 2 payments and will be charged late fees. So DO NOT do business with Directv as this according to the supervisor Ren is their business practice. read more
