Nemo loves coming here. He prances through the front door of the shop (no brakes, like the vet) and happily gets handed over to the groomer. They have never kept him over 2 hours in the over 10 years we have been going here. When finished, he looks great & no close shaves, nor are his nails cut too short. Although they seem to adore dog, they do not know how to give a dog a haricut. My little pooch had strip of bald spots running down his front legs. They didnt do a sanitary trim on the backside and completely forgot to trim the trail. I may need to go to another groomer to fix the backside. Can't live with THAT much hair back there. eeew gross. The also have a picket fence around the grooming area that is dangerous. A dog could impale himself on the pointy top if he jumps. read more

Best groomers in the valley! I take my pup in every 6 weeks and they do such a great job with her. They really seem to love welcoming my dog into their business. They always double check to see if I need anything special done or just the regular. Very fair pricing. Dog goes in a mess, comes out sparkling clean and smelling great. Only down side is I don't want to take her to the dog park for a few days just to enjoy her fresh clean fur! read more

We have been taking our three dogs there for years now, never had a bad experience. The do a fine job. If you want something done special or more hair cut from the norm, just ask them. They have always been friendly and professional. Even at times I've called short notice, they have been able to fit me. The prices are very competative, actually less than others in the area. I have been taking my beagles there for a little over a year now. Today I am not sure if I will be back. Honestly I hate leaving negative reviews but I must also let people know if something has gone from good to bad to worse. The staff seem swimming in dogs I believe that they don't care about individual care only seeing how many dogs they can push through in one day. The first time my wife and I took them into get groomed was on a week day afternoon and they where not busy. I would have rated them a 4 or 5 star that event. The gal took very good care of them she asked what we wanted and helped up decide on what options we wanted for each beagle. The last two times I have taken my dogs into there both where very hesitant to even want to go in the doors, even worse than a trip to the Vet. Our younger beagle came home with what looked like razor burns on the underside of her belly that took over a week to heal. We mentioned that our older dog has joint that sometimes slips and she needs to be handled with extra care. Once home she spent most of the next couple hours shaking and being very nervous. This time they didn't know or seem to care about what options I wanted or remember what I had done in the past as far as regular visit. We go every three months for service to this location. They didn't come home with the normal treatment. I can tell this time they Didn't use the oatmeal shampoo that I paid extra for nor specifically asked about. Definitely not excited about going back to U DIrty Dog, because they raise their prices and just seem to be all about pushing numbers and quick in quick out. Also as mentioned from an earlier reviewer they are very hard to make appointments, I feel like they never call anyone back and even if you call early in the morning to late in the afternoon they don't answer the phone nor bother to return your call before they leave for the afternoon. Been a customer for 3 years but never got a warm, friendly vibe. I continued to go back because the cut was always good. I'd rather they treat my dog kindly than to have great people skills. However, last month I took my new puppy there and when picking him up, the rude reception I received from the owner has made me switch groomers. I have two dogs ($100 + each time), I'd think they'd want my continued business. There is a shop in snoqualmie and a mobile groomer too that are friendly, so there are other options in the valley. My first experience with this grooming shop was in 2007. I had brought my 1 year golden in for a bath and tidy. I wasn't clear then I wanted all of her feathering to stay and being right at the start of summer, they gave her a it more "tidy" Than I was expecting as many goldens in the area get a summer cut. I said nothing, paid and left in tears. Not because the hair wouldn't grow back. What they didn't know that I lost my old golden suddenly to cancer a couple of weeks prior and she had a gorgeous coat of long feathering. The puppy was just getting her first long feathers and in a silly way it was like losing the old golden all over again. I waited until I calmed down and called the shop. I spoke with the owner Cathi, whom I had only first met that morning. I explained the situation and simply wanted to let her know that sometimes new clients might not be "speaking the same language" with terms like "tidy or trim". She was AMAZING!! To say the least. She apologized profusely, despite the fact that I know it is my job to be clear on what I want, just like when I get my own hair cut....no one can read their clients mind. She repeatedly insisted that she wanted to give me a full refund, which I refused because, as I told her, I was overly emotional for a completely different reason and she was being so professional and gracious. A short time later we got a 5lb toy poodle, which needs almost monthly grooming so I took him there. Cathi remember the previous experience when I walked in from several months earlier and came out front to hug me and give her condolences again for the loss of my old golden (you don't recover from that quickly). I have been going to U Dirty Dog every 4-6 weeks since that time and LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! I love that they are so transparent with their whole process, most grooming shops rush your pup into a back room for bathing and blow dry so we can't see how they are handle. I had a friend lose their dog in a cage dryer that shops at the large pet stores often use...it was sitting in it cooking for several hours and died of heat stroke. Their prices were the lowest in all eastside area back in 2005 and still are...but their occasional increases make sense to me because I get a raise every year, gas cost more. Rent goes us, supplies cost increase...so it is only reasonable to expect any business to adjust for cost living. I also love that most of the dogs hang out in the office or on the floor where they can relax. My poodle hates his crate yet almost all grooming shops choose to lock them in crates for hours. I love that they are so fast...in past experiences I would drop our dogs off in the morning then told to come back in the afternoon. Little did I know that was because they were slowly drying in a cage dryer while the groomer tries to crank out as many dogs in an assembly fashion. U Dirty Dog does a dog start to finish....in fact sometimes they are done too fast and I don't get to "kill time shopping" long enough. I go to U Dirty Dog because after 25 years of owning 8 different dogs and using grooming shops in CA, Portland and various areas of Seattle, they are unique and choose to make this experience all about my dogs rather than me....I personally would have it no other way. So if I have to wait to get a phone call back or schedule days in advance (I have to for my own haircut too) I know it is because they care about my doggies more than they care about anything else. read more

The prices have been steadily rising since we started going here 3 years ago. A few times I've picked our dog up she had multiple niks and cuts. I mentioned this to them and they said they would make sure they were more gentle. That got better, but on her last visit they forgot to trim her nails and they crept up on the price to $75 which surprised me but they said they had an increase across the board. So I just brought her in for a scheduled appointment this week and they told me they were raising prices again on just goldendoodles to $85. I think they could have mentioned this when the appointment was scheduled just days before. We have a medium doodle who just gets shaved every 3-4 months. When you factor in tax & tip you are spending over $100. This is nuts! Their excuse was they are just keeping competitive with other groomers in the area. I called around. One was $60, one was $70 and in Issaquah $77. Good bye & never again U Dirty Dog. read more
