The first one was awful, they had zero patience with little kids and my son was very young. The second was OK, not bad but not amazing, also incredibly rigid and my son just couldn't get into it. Lockhart's (Dan and his daughter) strike a great balance between teaching them proper technique, form and discipline but also making it very fun and engaging. Most days my kid is coming home and continuing to practice what he's learning. Also, my son isn't little anymore but the amount of patience they have with the small kids is absolutely mind-blowing, I wish I would've found this place sooner and skipped a lot of frustration. Definitely recommend!

I was surprised and asked what's that. So they introduced me to Rolling Robot. My boy becomes so motivated not only robotics but also school. He started to care about his grade because he is in the good environment that all kids are positive and think it's important to have a good grade. The director Bing is a truly educator that cares about kids. I cannot say how much I appreciate Rolling Robot. This weekend, my boy and his team are going to state competition after only 7 months of learning. So happy they get a chance to see other 198 teams and get the chance to learn more. Thank you!!!

This is such a gorgeous pocket of nature to get away from life for a while! There's so many places…read moreto go explore, people are really respectful for the most part so there's not trash on the trails, even people who bring their kids don't let them run around screaming like in some places. Nature is very much respected. It's also absolutely gorgeous! There's little Creeks, tiny waterfalls, the nature preserve itself is stunning, they have an area set up just for little birds to come visit that is beyond adorable, the birds you can come up to you! Well at least they did with us. I've also been to several weddings here, it's a really nice venue. Especially if people put lights up and have a dusk wedding OMG Parking is free, cheaper than therapy, wonderful break from the rat race. This is by far my favorite place in Orange County to just unplug.

She is exceptional with both the horses and her youth/amateur riders. She's kind and fair to her horses and respectful and patient with her riders. My husband is a professional in the equine industry and is very picky about the training and treatment of his horses, and now how and what our daughter is taught, and he's very impressed with Megan. She is a true horsewoman, well rounded and understands the foundational skills that so many trainers don't truly know, can't feel and gloss over. And, there's no pressure to move up to the big jumps, to show, or to become an eventer. Megan supports whatever the rider wants. We know our horse and daughter are in great hands and are SO grateful we found Telesis!

This is what two of my children experienced recently at a vacation camp…read more 1) The teacher was late for class by more than 10 minutes in a row, and the children were left unattended during that time. 2) During the class, the YouTube video lasted for about 30 minutes or more and was a time-killing video that had little to do with the class. 3) I have doubts about what children learn and experience through class. The curriculum is more sloppy than a well-organized day care. Ikea's free kids play room looks better. Parents, your money and your children's time are important. In my opinion, this is a company that does not value you and your children's time and money.

This is a private camp that both puts on programming in the summer (family camps) and also rents the camp to other groups who want to come and host their programs at this beautiful location (churches, school groups, marine groups, etc.). I have attended camps that were hosted here by IVCF and the related Alumni Camp - they are top notch! The location is amazing. Just a one-hour boat ride away from LA, yet you'll think you are a world away. In fact, my daughter used to think Catalina was a different country, it felt so different from home. It's a great mix of modern and rustic: Electricity in the Dining Hall, Classrooms, and Bathroom (yes, there is modern plumbing with hot showers), but no electricity in your cabins (a mixture of enclosed and open-air hard-walled and tent cabins). And yes - no cell phone service!!! What a joy to tell my work I was unavailable while on vacation! A bigger joy to see your teens with no phones, finally giving in and playing card games all evening with friends and family. And don't worry, there is a land line in camp if you really need to call a loved one to check in. The staff works with a spirit of wanting to serve, they love their jobs. My most recent visit during COVID, I saw them all step up to do more work to ensure all health standards were being met. We felt safe and realized that having an open-air dining room is now a great feature! I have also been impressed by their efforts to keep long-term staff employed during the pandemic, the stability of camp leadership is serving them well as we come out of the pandemic. For those with children, this place is extra special as there is no road access to camp, everyone arrives on the pier by boat. This means, no stranger danger. Even as a 4 year-old, we could let our daughter go around camp on her own and experience a unique independence that wouldn't exist at home. Now a teen, she loves bringing friends and eagerly awaits this family vacation each year. Finally - this place is fun! When weather allows, there is snorkling, swimming, fishing, tubing, hiking, basketball, ping pong, volleyball, and campfire sing-alongs ... and everything is included in your camp price (no surprise add-on's). Sometimes there are opportunities to hike into Avalon and be brought back by boat (usually during week-long camps). Different groups program different events, but I have never been bored and have always been sad to leave. Seriously, if you have an opportunity to experience Campus By the Sea yourself, GO! I wasn't sure about going that first time, but I'm sure glad I did!

Came here today on a whim after visiting the Modjeska House just down the street from this place…read more The gift shop was open and we ended up buying some soap, 2 finger puppets for the kids, and a ENC tucker magnet. The gift shop was a museum too and had lots of interactive exhibits for the kids. We saw live snakes and frogs on display as well. Across the street from the gift shop was the actual sanctuary which is a 0.25 mile loop - you can finish it within 10-15 minutes if you want fast. An amphitheater and bird viewing area is in there as well. The creek was dry when we went but did see a small pond with lots of tadpoles. Also be aware of rattlesnakes as we heard they come out in the summer time. Trail was 80% shaded so was not so hot. Found out that TUCKER was acquired by ENC of Newport Beach in 2022 so you'll see lots of ENC gear in the gift shop. There are essentially 2 ENC locations now - one here and one in Newport Beach. Pretty interesting!

There were actually staff available to help out, and the vibe was just so much better. It did take a bit for folks to get started with the harnesses and helmets, so the kids didn't have as much time to climb, which was a bit of a bummer because it took them a bit to warm up and gain some confidence with climbing! Sender City is pretty awesome and the self-belay system is pretty cool too.

Miss Laurie, the Program Director, truly cares about the kids and families and is always running around to make sure the campus is taken care of. It has been a bit of a learning curve for our son as far as listening and following directions from…read morean early age. I am not boasting but he had about 20 words at 16mos, so we had very high hopes for his future schooling, but can have an aggressive streak and is head strong. Way smarter than I was at his age, but I digress. He went for a summer program at 2 and then started the fall to summer program turning to 3 yrs when covid hit. Being away from his school really affected him I think as tantrums multiplied. He was starting to progress finally and the nature and play based program they have is incredible for kids so missing that friendship time was something he didn't comprehend. His teachers Miss Marta and Miss Libby went above and beyond to do video "circle time" with the kids during the heart of the pandemic. Now that safety measures have been instituted and the school has reopened we have noticed a marked improvement in his expression and behaviour. Let's face it, it can be hard to have the structure at home for learning especially when you have an even younger one to boot. It is an incredibly welcome relief to have such a great place to watch over and teach our children. I had meant to post this last September but forgot and since then the school and community has been through a lot! We are so thankful the school survived the fires and the surrounding community came together to help each other during these crises. We had to pull our son out of school because of financial hardships, which happened to coincide with the fires and raging pandemic, but hope to have him back to see his friends soon.
