Another awesome experience at Discount Hobby Warehouse went in to get a few parts for my TRAXXAS Rustler 4x4 VXL Dave looked over my Rustler and recommended the parts that he believe I needed to get it back into action. While I was there after doing some research about a 1/16 scale I asked Dave for his recommendation and he told me that the Mini Maxx was the way to go, well let's just say I'm more than happy with his recommendation and also returned later to add the light kit and a wheelie bar that he had recommended while I was there prior. Absolutely recommend this place extremely professional been going to other hobby stores for a while and getting ripped off, just found out about this place went in there. They sold me what I needed and didn't try to upsell me on anything. I didn't need. They also gave me extremely helpful advice for the situation I was having, and if I had any questions to come back and they would help me out. As well as the pricing of their products it is very reasonably priced and not marked up as with other hobby stores. This place was hands down awesome! Not only they have a wide selection of hobby items, they have exceptional customer service. My bro has a Losi Baja Rey 2.0 which the steering went out, so I had mentioned to him I heard of this place we should check it out and bring your car. We were welcomed by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They took one look at the car did a quick diagnosis at no cost, they had identified it was the steering servo that needed to be replaced. Us being novices they walked us through options of servos and what would work best. Abraham was the gentleman that helped us, this dude deserves a raise. He had the car fixed and working the same day. Not only his customer service is top notch you can tell he actually has a passion for what he's doing, and it shows. I was also having issue with my Losi Micro B it was killing batteries and I couldn't figure out what was going on. They set me up with a charger and a replacement battery and it has fixed all the issues I was going through. My little Losi micro- b is tons of fun and thanks to Discount hobby warehouse i'm able to enjoy it again. I tried, guys. I honestly tried to support a local small business rather than throw more $$ at Jeffrey Bezos. It's the holiday season and I was searching for a model kit to give as a secret santa gift. The Discount Hobby Warehouse website indicated they had a nice Datsun model available, so I placed my order...only to be contacted by the owner who admitted they didn't have that item available due to an inventory error. I attempted to support them again and purchased a Nissan Skyline R33 model. Same story... It's a bit disappointing. But I appreciate that the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was helpful and there were no problems with either of my refunds. I'll hit them up again if I need another car model in the future. I went to Discount Hobby warehouse after my previous hobby shop (Ampdraw Hobbies) closed down. I had called before hand and Emily answered the phone and gave me a lesson on everything I needed to know about RC planes. Buyers beware!! This company does not stand behind their products. I recently purchased (by recommendation of the workers inside) a castle brushless motor/ESC combo for my sons RC. Hooked it up and everything was great for a few uses. Less than 3 weeks later the RC stopped working. Did a bunch of trouble shooting and figured out it was the ESC that had failed. The employees and owner via a phone call said that I had to go though castle directly and they won't help me in store. In todays market the only reason to purchase locally is to receive good customer service and have someone to help if things go wrong. In this case I learned that discount hobby warehouse is not that place. read more

My brother requested to come here because he loves building models. They have a wide assortment of models ranging from cars, planes, trucks, rockets, gundams, boats, superheroes, and the list goes on. They have signs in the store that say they're your destination for all of you model airplane, car, and rocket needs. They have a variety of paint and repair parts so you can customize the models to your liking. Andrew helped my brother out and was friendly and very knowledgeable about the merchandise within the store. Models aren't my jam, but if they're yours then I recommend checking this place out. My mom always told me that if you dress a certain way, people around you are going to treat you accordingly... so I tried it all... pirate... slut... pirate slut... but I found that I feel most comfortable dressed like a hoodlum. This place never treated me like that... which was both AWESOME and confusing at the same time. Seriously though... the guys here pretty much leave you alone when you walk in, but were SUPER helpful (without being overbearing) and attentive when I had questions or was ready to check out. For a small shop, they always ALWAYS had the paints, tools or supplies I needed. ** DO NOT BUY HERE, HORRIBLE PLACE TO BUY ** On 02/18/2022 and spend $3,900.00 and bought multiple (3) RC CARS, (6) BATTERIES, (1) DUAL CHARGER. The employees there were excited, and amazed on my purchase. THE CARS IMMEDIATELY FELL APART AFTER 1st use. 2 batteries were damaged. (Later determined cells were bad) When I went back 24 hours later to notify them about the issues. The guys at the service RC area immediately denied any returns and said it was "abuse". The RC CARS were new with no damages. They denied me help and offered to order parts for repairs. I have a broken leg and requested the employees to take my RC cars to my car. Took in the batteries and told them about the issue. One batterie was inflated, and the other had damaged cells. They declined the return or replacement. They told me to call the manufacturer myself and do the whole process myself. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL, THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY HELP.. THEY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY. In disbelief his competition repaired and replaced/Warrantied my RC Cars and batteries. What a shame for "HOBBY WAREHOUSE ... DONT BUY HERE I went to another place, "HOBBY TOWN", SANTEE that place was amazing. I spoke to the owner and explained my experience here. He knotted his head and made a phone call. Literally 2 min later he came back and said "I will replace and warranty the batteries and fix your cars for free" I was in disbelief, and as he said and had promised I'm back in the RC game. Thanks to him, and his company for everything. They explained the charging process, the whole process to RC and gave me his personal cellphone number for any issues I may have. I got a battery and a charger; their price was BETTER than what I could found online. Unfortunately they don't sell parts specific to DJI drones, so I still needed to order props. Selection is great here but personally me as a business owner I make sure my customers are satisfied especially when I've spend 3,200 at that store just this week alone I have all the receipts to post it on Yelp. So I walk in there wanted to buy shocks so I guess you need to put oil in the shocks and I didn't know that. So I told the guy can you please do it for me it's my first time he said I'm sorry I can't do it now because we close in 25 mins and this takes 30 mins so I told him really he said yes so I told him than I will take my business elsewhere and the owner manager was sitting next to him after I got upset and went to pay and leave none of them approach me in anyway. Me:yes, looking for replacement parts for my MN-D90 rock crawler RC. Do you have that model here? I am replacing the driving shaft to a metal part and I don't want to order online. Employee: You haven't told me anything that I could help you with. (weird flex but fine.) I googled my R/C on google so he would have a reference(it was from walmart) employee takes a quick glance.this guy did not even look at the model. employee:We don't carry any of those toys from walmart. If you want to upgrade then come talk to me. me: sooo you don't have metal gears? ..he walks off to lunch. If you want to help someone then help them. Don't make fun of a build that someone is trying to accomplish. Get better employees that can actually help. There was only 1 other customer in the store. read more

This is a great shop for all sorts of RC toys, Planes, parts, tools and accessories.. I've often found it tough to find several unique parts to do minor repairs on specific planes and the guys here are very glad to help find and mail-order anything if it's not in stock.. If it's at their Main Warehouse (in LA) they will call you in two days to say when it's in.. This works really well for E-Flight and Horizon Hobby planes. I've ordered over the phone at least 6 times in the last 6 months. The only thing I'd watch out for is the return policy on anything that's electronic or that won't fit especially if you tossed out the original packaging for it.. unless it's clearly a manufacturing defect they won't want to allow you to return it for a refund if it's possible you abused and damaged it yourself. read more

Good source overall for RC components and hobbies, but be careful regarding FPV, they're not experts and some of the supplies are limited. They only had the medium-higher level goggles when I was looking for entry level. It's best to do the research on FPV yourself and then go talk and with them. read more
