I'm going to detail a long ass story, but the moral of it is that it's hard to get in touch with these people - and they do not show up in even close to a timely manner - if they bother to show up at all. I called this place on Sunday afternoon, and since apparently they make a point of never picking up their phones, I got a phone call back around 9 PM the next evening. I scheduled an appointment for Friday morning - and was told someone would come between 9-9:30. 9:30 rolls around, no one is there. I call. Then I call again. 30 minutes later, I finally get a call back from Albert, who has clearly forgotten that he made an appointment with me (although he said something about a meeting - if you in fact had a meeting, you may have considered calling me before to cancel). He tells me he will send someone else out immediately. So, I waited. By 11, still no one had arrived, and I really had to get to work. I called and left a voice mail (again - they literally make a point of not ever picking up the phone) telling them not to bother showing up. A little while later, Albert calls me back, and I agreed to reschedule for the next morning, figuring - ok, this guy is probably in business by himself - maybe he got busy, it's fine. Of course, the next day someone is supposed to be there by 9. I am not surprised at 9:30 when I get a phone call apologizing for being late - Albert had to take his kids to practice. Fine. But, he insisted he was on his way. 10:45 - still no one. Again, I had plans, so I called to cancel. At 11 I get a phone call that he is at my building. Sorry buddy, you did not check your voice mail (cuse you never pick up your phone) - and I should not have to wait two hours after the appointment time for you to show up. This place is extremely unprofessional. Honestly, if you were too busy to detail my car, you should not have let me make the appointment. I would have preferred that to wasting four hours this week sitting home waiting for you guys to show up. read more

Great friendly service. They did an amazing job. I can't speak to how great of a job they did. We had two dogs at the time. One was a husky who was with this car from when my husband first got the car in 2002. This was the first real cleaning and detail ever done - so in over 10 years! Could you imagine? You just inhaled and you were breathing in dog hair. On top of that, the ash and other grime after 10 years of normal wear and tear that a man can do... they had the car for about 5 hours. it was so clean, I could have eaten my dinner off the seats! Super impressed. They were very friendly, courteous, professional, and just cool people! When one relocates to a new city, there's always an adjustment or two that makes you realize how much you took for granted. Growing up in the suburbs of the Motor City, everybody washed their cars in their driveways; when the temperature dipped into the single digits, we made the trip to the $2 car wash. However, for Washingtonian apartment dwellers, driveways aren't part of the equation. After rolling up to a Cleveland Park car wash and waiting in the gigantic line snaking down Connecticut Ave, I had no choice but to fork over $18 for a basic wash (this was a few years ago--it could be $25 now). With five idling cars behind me, there was no turning back. Fast forward a few years: I'm a Metro-dependent energy-efficient woman. My car continues to rattle down dirt roads, ferrying muddy hikers to and from camp sites, and receives the occasional coating of foul-smelling Rock Creek Park mud post-trail run. In-town auto detailers were out of the budget (perhaps a location in the heart of Georgetown allows for/necessitates charging $300 for a sub-compact vehicle), but Craigs List saved the day with a real winner: Discount Mobile Detailing. The next morning, before work, I dropped off my car inside an Arlington parking structure (easy to find, secure), hopped on a bus, and Metro'd back into DC. The car was ready by the end of the day and since I was a little pressed for time (the parents were visiting--hence the need for a clean car!), the DMD guys met me at the Pentagon City metro station. Now, that's service! The car sparkled and shone, inside and out (in all the nooks and crannies), and the price was about 1/2 of what other detailing places charge! Everyone was extremely friendly and courteous and I believe that they sent me a coupon a few months later for a discounted return visit. You can't ask for more. After a humongous party foul in the back seat of my car on Friday night, I took my car to my local car detailing shop and was promptly quoted $320 to shampoo my interior, and they would need it until Sunday morning. UNACCEPTABLE! After some googling, I discovered Jerome and James at Discount Mobile Detailing! Very professional, secure location, and I had my car back in about 6 hours for less than half the cost. With no advanced notice, on a holiday weekend, these guys gave my car an AMAZING detail in only 6 hours! Their price list is comprehensive, all prices are listed, and you don't get any haggling in person. He called with suggestions on additional services my car could use to look even better, but he didn't pressure me into anything, and he was happy to give me a quote for my SUV as well. I'll CERTAINLY be keeping in touch with these guys! I drove my 2000 Honda to Georgetown immediately after, and the parking attendants couldn't believe the awesome condition my car was in. Albert just left my apartment complex and the first thing I wanted to do was write a review when I saw what he did with my car...it didn't even look like the same car...he somehow got years-old grease stains out of my floor mats...not a drop of grease in sight...I mean this thing looks like new. Absolutely unbelievable. Reasonably priced and excellent work. Definitely worth it. If you don't get ahold of him the first time you call his number, try again - that happened to me the first time I called but when I talked with him he said demand was super-high and he has a small team so it makes sense you might have to call more than once. I am blown away by Albert at Discount Mobile Detailing! We have a Prius that has served as the only car for our family of five for 14 years. It was still running well and we wanted to pass it down to our son as a graduation gift. But the interior grime and stains of its long hard life were so awful that even my son's DMV road tester refused to get in it. Some of the reviews on here were pretty incredible so we thought we'd give DMD a shot. The 2 hr job turned into 5 hrs... on a 99 degree day in the blazing sun. Albert did not stop until the original light beige seats shone through. It was restored beyond belief. We almost passed on DMD when we didn't hear back from them for a few days. It was definitely worth the wait as there isn't anyone else who could have done such an amazing job. read more

Discount Mobile Detailing is an unresponsive and unprofessional outfit. I recently prepaid $300 for a detail job and they advised me that they could be at my home at 10am today to get it done. Having faith that they were a professional outfit and would actually deliver, I arranged to stay home from work so that I could be available to provide my car key and give them a tip when they finished up. After having serious difficulty getting a response out of this company for the last week and a half, this morning a man named Albert called me at about 9:15 and asked for my address, stating that he would send someone out as soon as possible. I asked him if we were still on for 10am and he said yes. Fast forward to 10:45 and nobody has shown or called. So I call Albert and he asks if we can push it back to 12 noon. Would have been nice for him to call me and let me know they were running seriously late, but I figured I'm home anyway, so why not. It's now after 2pm and still nobody has shown or called. I've called Albert twice and not gotten an answer. I've obviously disputed the charge on my credit card, but Albert and company already have their money, which is clearly all they were interested in in the first place. I'll never know whether they do good work, but based on the above I seriously doubt it. Avoid this "business" unless you enjoy getting jerked around. read more

A few months ago, I was riding passenger in my cousin's car when a mutual friend just unloaded a case of beer and 3 square meals from his stomach all over her Ford Escape. The vehicle looked like the inside of a bat cave. I called everywhere in Arlington and explained the situation and was quoted over $300 each time. I found Discount Mobile Detailing and was told it would be cost around $150. I didn't even care what I was getting myself into because the savings was worth it. At first, I was a little nervous dropping my car off in some random parking deck in Arlington, but the result was SO worthwhile. Jerome did a FANTASTIC job. The car looked spotless. He even cleaned all the items affected by the disaster and picked up approximately 300 coins from the floor the car and bagged them up. Jerome was pleasant, professional, and extremely speedy. The technician worked hard for 3 hours and brought all the necessary equipment and supplies--even his own water. Even bad scratches nearly disappeared. I ordered the service on their website and selected "cash on delivery". We got an automated confirmation e-mail, but nothing beyond that. When my wife called with the order number from the confirmation, Albert did not even know about the order. So, she ordered again over the phone. After she hung up, she said she got the feeling he wasn't even going to show up. Well, as always, my wife was right. When she called him after he had not shown up for the 1:00 appointment, he said he would be there in 30 minutes. When she called him at 45 minutes later after he didn't show up for that one, he said another 15 minutes at which point she wisely just cancelled the service. Last October, I owned a minivan that could easily have qualified as the nastiest vehicle in automotive history, and I needed it cleaned so I could sell it. I left a message for Discount Mobile Detailing and Albert called me back the same afternoon. I warned him that this was almost certainly the foulest, most disgusting minivan he'd ever seen and gave explicit details about the various substances he could expect to encounter inside. Despite this litany of horrors, he bravely accepted the job. Here's what greeted Albert when he arrived a few days later: the carpet was stiff and sour-smelling from multiple old milkshake spills; a compressed mass of bubble gum and putrefied perishables (I was only able to positively identify the crust of an ancient cherry croissant) was stuck inside the seat pocket; the windows were covered with stickers and glued-on coins (don't ask); every surface was streaked, sticky, slimy, and/or growing bacterial cultures; there was bark mulch and cat litter from punctured bags of same strewn across the cargo area; and our yellow lab had liberally sprinkled the entire back of the van with the kind of stiff hairs that stick like thorns in the upholstery and won't come out with simple vacuuming. Also, I was very successfully, if unintentionally, farming some kind of fungus on the front carpets as a result of leaving the windows open during a heavy and prolonged rainstorm. Had it occurred to me, I would have donated the van to scientists researching longevity because, no matter what I did to kill the strange cotton-ball-like fungus, it kept growing back. By the time Albert arrived, it was in its seventeenth or eighteenth incarnation. If you can picture the inside of my van, you can imagine how it smelled. Albert insisted he'd seen worse but I figured he was just saying that to make me feel better. (Turns out he'd seen worse only once: a car in the same squalid state as my van, only someone had also barfed in it - just the extra bit of vileness needed to make it the Grossest Vehicle Champion.) Albert spent the entire day on my van. He got to my house in the morning (around 9:00, if memory serves) and didn't leave until almost 6:00 that evening. The result was astonishing: he transformed my van from a rolling garbage dump to a respectable vehicle that anyone looking for a used family hauler would buy. In fact, if you own a silver 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan purchased from a Virginia CarMax, it's entirely possible you are driving my former vehicle. But you'd never know it was the same one because Albert made it look and smell almost like new. His price for performing this miracle made me feel like I had gotten away with something (I made it up in tip - I do have a conscience) and he was friendly and professional throughout what must have been an extremely unpleasant job. I'll definitely have him back the next time I need a detail, though woe betide my kids if I ever again find myself with a vehicle that's even a fraction as filthy as that van. read more

This is my first Yelp review. I decided to do this review because of really great service of Discount Mobile Detailing. My company's Holiday party ended up with a coworker vomiting all over my backseat. I was angry, terrified and really concerned that the smell and the stains will never be able to disappear. Next morning I went online searching for a really good service that is open on Sundays. Upon my discovery there were not many ready to do the work until I came across Discount Mobile Detailing. These guys were ready to work and really understanding. We dropped the car off and when we return the car looked like new. I know you must be thinking the car will never look like it but I went in it, smelled it, touched it and made sure that everything was out. To my satisfaction, everything was clean and really nice smelling. They made sure they extracted the bodily fluids, deodorized it, put cleaning supplies that kill the bacteria. Satisfaction guaranteed! They said once it dries if there are parts that they have missed or it starts smelling again to bring it up and they will dismantle everything to clean it again. What more can you ask for as a customer. I am so glad they saved my car and my sanity! I highly recommend and you are supporting a great small local business of great guys! read more

I went through a crazy experience at NTB in Alexandria. After getting an oil change (and waiting three hours), I given my car back with oil and grease all over the front seats and the arm rest. I couldn't believe it! After much back and forth, the manager agreed to pay for it to get cleaned. That night I found Discount Mobile Detailing and was able to speak with Albert about my problem. After showing him the pictures and deciding on a convenient time (the next day!), I was able to book an appointment. Jesse was the one who came and cleaned the front of my car. I was at work but they assured me that traveling to my job would not be a problem. Not only was he nice, courteous, and honest, but he reassured me that he was well equipped to handle the issue, and actually DELIVERED!
