This Discount Tire was the closest to where I was at so the one I went. When I got there, I noticed the parking lot was pretty empty and just two bays in use. The other Discount Tires are always bustling so I am not sure what is going on at this location. I went to wait at the air machine as I wasn't sure if I had a flat or just low air pressure. I had run over something in the road a few days before, so I thought there might have been a puncture. I waited there and waited as that is how it works at my Discount Tire. But nobody came to help so I decided to go inside but someone came out to meet me and just told me to wait. Another car came and we had a line so finally someone came over to check the tires. Thankfully, I didn't have a leak as with the rate this shop operates, I would have missed my show. I will look for another location if I have another tire issue in the area. read more

First visit they didn't check my warranty and tried to sell me new tires instead. After calling back and verifying I had a warranty, I revisited and the tires weren't in stock... Third visit everything seemed fine. Got my car back with a vague conversation about the TPMS needing to resync after driving. Left despite a nagging feeling and the TPMS error didn't go away. The real problem though? An unrelated tire was down to 10 psi! This would have left me stranded if I didn't have a pump with me! While heading 3.5 hours away to visit my aunt in hospice, we had a driver's side tire blow out on I-26--on a stretch with very little shoulder and heavy traffic. We managed to get the spare on and made it to Discount Tire, where we were told it could be a 2-3 hour wait due to how busy they were. Despite that, they got us taken care of in just about an hour. Needed to get my tires changed. Had an appointment for 10:30am, got there even a few minutes early and was notified it was going to be ready by 11:17am. They didn't even take my vehicle until that time. I was there for 2 HOURS. And a lot of people came in after me and left before me. Bathrooms were also not very clean. Let's start with price. The tire my wife needs, anywhere else, is $185 all in. Here it's $260. But, they had a tire in stock, and nobody else did. Dropped off the wheel with the tire to be replaced at 8:30. They said it'll be ready no later than 10. It's 10:14 as of this review...and they haven't even started yet. Stopped this morning to get free air (I usually do it without assistance as the machine is easy to use and the wait for anyone is usually quite long). I waited in line about 15 minutes behind another car while another car at the machine was being checked and rechecked with much discussion with the driver by a young man was apparently trying to talk the driver into buying new tires. I say apparently because it doesn't take that much time and effort to put air into tires, and because that's what happened to my wife a few days ago when she stopped to get air. I left and went shopping at the adjacent Walmart and came back through and the same thing was happening. So I parked and went in the store to tell the manager and only one salesman was there browbeating an older woman to buy new tires. (I'm guessing he was telling her that her tires were dangerous just like the air-check fellow told my wife a few days ago even though the tires recently passed the State safety inspection with tread to spare. I've had 2 other instances at this store in the last year of being told that I would need new fires because leaking tires couldn't be repaired only to have them successfully repaired at another business. Although I have bought several sets of tires at this business for the several cars I maintain in my family, I doubt that that will continue with the current attitude here. read more

I came into this store after noticing a screw in my tire and decided to go here before my drive home. I will say that they go above and beyond to assist their customers. Johnathan was phenomenal! I was super worried that the tire would have needed to be replaced due to where the screw was located on the tread but they were up front about it saying it's not in a great spot but we are gonna fix it don't worry! I would suggest going here to anyone who wants great customer service. As well the patch work was perfect! Will definitely come back if I have any issues or need a patch or maybe a new set of tires! Best experience I've ever had getting ties. Dylan met me at the door and I explained I knew they closed soon and I couldn't get the tires today. He said he would have the tires replaced in less than an hour and wanted to assure I was safe driving when I left. It took about 30 minutes from the time I drove up to getting my keys back. I arrived shortly before opening and was one of the first customers to be seen this morning even though I did not have an appointment. I was sold a set of tires and they were installed very quickly. In and out, less than an hour. The shop has a waiting area, a cooler with bottled water while you wait and a free wifi. Or you can go for a walk through the shopping plaza instead of sitting. I began my first experience with Discount Tires on Bleachery Blvd in Asheville, NC by ordering my tires online and scheduling an appointment for installation. I chose this route because it was heavily advertised as saving customers an average of 30% on the wait time. I noticed the charge had been refunded to my account 2 days before my appointment so I called the store to see what had happened. They let me know the charge was still pending and that my tires had arrived, this next part is important as the store associate over the phone strongly suggested I come in today to have my tires installed as it would give them more space for inventory and that I would be able to, and I quote, "get in and out in no time." I arrived to the store at 1pm, was given an estimated time for completion to be "an hour and a half." It is now after 4pm and my vehicle has not even been moved into a bay yet and I am told there are still 4 vehicles ahead of me and that there is no way to estimate how long it will take. As if this were not already frustrating enough, the staff seem completely apathetic and are unwilling to make this right in any capacity. Seeing as the tires were in fact no cheaper than the Walmart next door and about 10% more expensive than the local mom and pop shops, I would highly discourage patronage here, especially the Asheville store on Bleachery Blvd. I value my time and the store associates clearly do not. read more

I had to order a new tire after my old tire was deemed not repairable due to the placement of a screw into the sidewall. I waited 3 days for the tire to come in. I was not called that it had come in, but when I called they said there were 20 people ahead of me and that I would have to wait hours or hope for service the next morning when they opened. They would not let me make an appointment to have the new tire installed. My car did not come with a spare and so I have not been able to drive for several days. There must be a better system of service than this!! Considering the type of customer service that is offered (which is zero), I would not want to ever use Discount Tire again. read more

I normally write fairly long-winded reviews with a few funny quips and such, but buying tires is one of those routine maintenance things that is about as much fun as having a doctor do anything to your colon, so I'll just bottom line this one. The service was friendly and the dude was able to get me the tires that I wanted that were originally slightly above my budget, including the extended warranty and roadside service, at a price that I knew was legit (because I obsessively research things like this). Our tires were not there days after they said they would be. Had to leave the car overnight. Called the next morning to make sure the car was ready. We were told all was done. Arrived after the 40 minute drive to see the car was up on a jack. We were then told one of the newly installed tires was leaking and when they went to take it off they found they had cross threaded one of the wheel studs. The only solution was to break off the wheel stud to remove the wheel again to work on the leaking tire. The leaking tire was caused by a brush fragment left between the bead and the rim by the installer. After all this, the management offered a coupon to a mechanic an hour away from our house for a free repair of the wheel stud they destroyed. So based on their incompetence I would now need to waste 3 plus hours of my life. I said no and they offered a deduction of the labor install. Fine. I would have to fix it on my own. A really bad experience and then it got worse. Some weeks later my wife said the car was making an odd noise. I drove the car and felt the noise was coming from the left front wheel. Thinking it might be brake or cv joint related, I went to break loose the wheel nuts before jacking up the car to check it out. What I discovered was 3 out of 5 wheel nuts were completely loose. Total incompetence and totally life threatening. We live in the mountains with sharp curves and severe drop offs. 3 out of 5 studs not doing their job is a serious threat of failure. I obviously checked and tightened all other wheel nuts. Really bad experience. read more

Discovered I had a slow leak in a tire the night before I was to go out of town. Went to Discount Tire the following morning and arrived 10 minutes before they opened. Was able to use a QBR contactless check-in process. Once they opened, they got me right in and allowed me to sit in the car while they repaired the tire. In and out in 35 minutes, and when I asked; how much do I owe you, they responded "no charge"! I am impressed by their competence with tire questions, but even more, by their open and friendly service. I went 2 weeks ago because my tire pressure light came on. They said my right front tire was at 22 lbs because it had a screw in it. It was so was so worn they couldn't repair it. Went back today to get tire prices since my stimulus will post Wednesday. Waited 20 minutes while the 1 person working in the lobby answered phone call after phone call without even acknowledging my presence. Keep in mind I have purchased tires at least 3 times. He didn't bother to ask for my info or he would have known that. He did go out to see if there was a tire in stock since the ones I had looked at we're not.
