The first experience I had here was great. The crew moves quick in making you an appointment if you call ahead. My tire was slashed and I called ahead so they could order the tire I needed, went in a few days later and they put it on. When my tire was flat, I decided to come back here since my service had been so great the first time. I called ahead and made an appointment. I expected it to be a quick patch, but my tire ended up needing to be replaced. Once again, it had to be ordered, so we did that before I left with my spare on. I asked how long they thought it was take for the tire to come in, and if I'd need to call in a few days to make an appointment. They said no, and that they would call me on Monday (it was Friday at this time). A whole week passed, I heard nothing, and called again to see what was up. I was irritated that they didn't call since I specifically asked them if I should call them. This same communication incident occured again once I went in to get the tire replaced. I asked them how long it should take, and if they would call me once it was finished, and they said yes. I walked to Earth Fare to use their wifi, after over an hour and 15 minutes passed, I had heard nothing and walked back to discount tires... My car had been finished for half an hour, but I was never called.... I hate to complain, but it felt like they honestly couldn't give a shit about me and had no respect for my time. The guys were professional (all wearing masks) and accommodating, finding me a timely appointment slot. They fixed and rotated my tires, and I was in and out in very little time. I brought the car in early this year to replace two tires. Vito showed me the status of the other tires and we decided to go with his suggestion of replacing all four tires and adding the warranty. I really can't thank him enough for convincing me to do that. Since replacing the tires, we drove through two ice storms and the tires performed flawlessly. Today, as we passed by Gainesville on our way to Orlando, I found a nail in one of the rear tires. I brought it in and they replaced the tire, rotated and balanced the others free of charge. All they said was, come see us when you need new tires! I had gone to the Tires Plus across the street in previous occasions and the service in this place is amazing. My wife got a new set of tires here a year ago. It is the 6th set of tires we have purchased from Discount tire. A month after the purchase she got a nail in one. They patched it for free. A week ago she was down in south Florida and that tire started loosing air. She took it to Firestone, as there are no discount tire locations there, and they said the patch was leaking and could not by law be repaired. I called discount tire and asked what to do, because we have the warranty. They told me to buy a new tire down there and bring them the invoice along with the bad tire to be refunded via the warranty. The best price I could get on the same tire was $299 and install was $19. I did this and when we returned I brought the invoice along with the old tire in as instructed. They looked at me as if I was trying to scam them. They said that patches do not leak although the one they installed most definitely was. They refunded me $269, what was paid for the original tire when I purchased 4 from them. They would not refund any of the installation cost or the additional amount I had to pay for the new tire. I even tried to get them to put the full amount on my account as a credit toward my next set of tires. They just handed me the $269 in cash and wanted me to leave. Now if this was strictly a warranty issue where something punctured a sidewall and could not be repaired I would understand. This was not a standard issue, the patch that THEY installed FAILED causing this problem. If the patch was installed correctly, it should not have happened. Anyway, the point is that I have purchased over $5000 in tires from them and they turned me away because of a $53 issue that they caused. I will find somewhere else to purchase my tires. Somewhere that can deal with a customer issue better than repeating "sorry that is all we can do" until they leave. My son was having a TPMS low tire pressure alarm. We pulled into the Discount Tire shop at 3003 SW 34TH Street, Gainesville, FL for a check. Turns out a chunk of the right front tire was missing. Likely due to a curb jumping out in front of him. Anyway, we discussed tire sizes, brands and tires and settled on a set of four new michelin tires. By this time, the tire shop had closed. Crap. Wait, the manager Nick and his guys said "No Problem" we can't let you drive around on that tire so they all jumped in the shop and we were leaving on a set of four new tires in about 30 minutes. 30 minutes past closing time. Amazing. I have not seen this type of customer service in a long time. Now, if I had paid a high price for these four tires then I guess it might make some sort of sense. I just put tires on my wifes sequoia and this shop beat the prices in Orlando by over $200. After the shop was closed. Need tires? A great experience from start to finish. On-line order was easy. A much nearer tire store asked me to submit a request for a quote. When it came in, after I'd had the tires replaced by Discount, the quotes were much higher than what I paid. The service was very quick, professional, and courteous. As a side note: if you have dogs to walk, they are in an area that is perfect for that, with ponds and ducks. Your dogs will love the ducks! I just left your store and have to say that being able to know that there is a store in Gainesville that sells tires with integrity is truly comforting! I was leaving town today for a family vacation when I noticed I had some damage to one of my tires. My wife and my five children would have been in the car with me and I was concerned that on a long trip out of town that I would have potential hazardous incidence because of the damage tire. I called a local Goodyear store and bought the car in to have examined because the discount tire store seem to be very busy given the holiday weekend that is upon us.the Goodyear store however were wide open when I called to see if they had any availability. That really surprise me given the holiday weekend but I was also relieved to know that I can get the car in and have the tire changed quickly if needed. after examining the damage on the car The rep at the Goodyear store told me that my tire must be replaced and they felt very much that it would be dangerous for me to travel on that tire. Unfortunately they did not have the tire in stock that I needed to replace on my car.they were willing to sell me a comparable tire and put it on right away. we decided that we did not want a different tire so they begin to look around and search for stores that might have a tire we need it. The search put us back to Discount Tire and we arranged to have our car brought in to have the tire replaced. When Vito the service rep examined the tire he explained to me that the tire damage was actually inconsequential and that the tire in fact did not need to be replaced. Even though they had a tire there to sell me he was honest enough to tell me the truth. That is amazing to me! they even offered to make sure that my tire pressures were all secure and clean Up and shine my tires for me before I left! The manager worked with me and gave me great deal on new set of michelins with warranty credits, even though I had 40,000 miles on the old set. Excellent customer service! They make recommendations without being forceful. They also do free tire rotations every 5,000 miles. Obviously this will enable them to inspect your tires for imperfections, which could result in additional sales for them, but it's still nice nonetheless as many places charge for this service. My friend (who worked at the local Tires Plus, hilariously enough) recommended this store as the best in town. Even though the store was incredibly busy, Shane, who I spoke to on the phone, fit me into the schedule and was very friendly.
