Discount Tire took responsibility for the damage tire and they are also replacing the damaged tire and refunding the tire that I had to buy

I called to check availability on getting a screw out of my tire. They said they were not busy and to come in. I waited for 45 mins for them to look at the tire and they came back to tell me they could do the repair but it would be another 3 hour wait. They should be more clear with people when they give them a wait time and let them know that an additional wait time may be needed after they assess the issue. I was outraged with how unprofessional they were and how much time was wasted. So I made an appointment to return because I did not have another 3 hours to wait or a ride to leave my car there. I've been going to this location with my family for nearly 8 years since I moved back. New management has these poor kids running around like a cat on a hot tin roof. Simple, all I was doing was getting my snow tires taken off and my summer tires put back on. They made 2 mistakes. Luckily, I was present for the first one so they didn't put the wrong tire on the wrong location because I was maximizing my tread life, and I sorted them the night before so that the rears would have the most meat. THEN I have to go back because they put my two wonderful metal knurled valve caps on the passenger side but for some reason, two junky plastic caps made it on my driver's side The manager is hyperactive and I 'm not sure how he completes his day, without losing all of his employees. They no longer have a smile on their face or even anything to say when you're standing in a non restricted area outside of the building. I told them at the counter when I paid in cash because their computers were down, and Mr.Manager overheard me say that would be the last they ever see of me. He asked me why and I said YOU. I said you've got these kids acting so nervous, they're making mistakes. When I got the passive aggressive, have a good day, sir, i knew it was time to let the light shine. I got corporate on the horn and now i'm letting everyone in the NW Indiana area know what they are up against with this guy. We do a lot around here because competition means everything. We also know businesses have gone out of business because of word of mouth. Be forewarned. read more

I bought 4 new tires on my truck on a Friday afternoon, Friday night jumped on the express way to go to dinner. One of the brand new tires just started going flat on the express way. Thank god I bought the warranty because came back Saturday morning and they said they would order a new one and call me Saturday afternoon to come get it replaced. I called at 4pm thank goodness because I was informed that someone should have told me it wouldn't be in till Monday. I called Monday morning of course it wasn't in till the afternoon now had to take half day off work to get my tire. Then they wanted to charge me for a new warranty on a tire that was a couple hours old. I paid over $1100.00 you think service would t be so chaotic and more professional. Of course waiting n line again, I will have to really think again about coming here things will have to really change. read more

Always a positive experience here, whether it's just to get air in my tires or if I have an issue with a tire. My most recent experience compelled me to write this review: I discovered that one of my tires was really low on air after work. I was going to just wait until the morning to stop in, but decided to pop over to the store at 5:25pm. Without hesitation they took me right in. Didn't make me feel guilty at all about walking in with a problem near closing time. While I waited, I counted 5 more people walk in after me with no appointments and they gladly helped every customer out. Even the one at 5:55pm! I came here last Saturday because I blew my passenger tire Friday night. As soon as I walked in, a guy was going down the line that was forming and adding people to the waiting list. You were then texted a link that you could see what place in line that you were and the estimated wait time. When it was my turn, I was called to the counter where Shannon took care of me. He was very pleasant and friendly. He was able to find me a discount on my tire and they even had the tire in stock, which was awesome! I paid for the tire (which was a great price!) and received another text with the estimate on when my car would be worked on. The workers were quick to keep the lines moving and made sure everyone's car was looked after. I sat in the shop for about 2 hours. But, I didn't hear much else about my car until I went to the counter. It turns out that there was a slight mix up with the tire and they couldn't find it. Shannon came out to me and explained the situation. He told me that they will honor the price that I paid for the original tire since I think the found tire was slightly more. 5 stars for Shannon for all his help, for the techs for working on my car, and for the guy that gave me my keys (he apologized for the inconvenience). I get mix ups happen. However, no one told me that there was an issue until after I went up to the desk to question the status of my car. Communication needs to be a bit better in these instances, which is why I am giving you 4 stars. read more

I have been a Discount Tire Customer for over 22 years, It started with them being a client for a company that I worked for, and me being at their company meeting in Lisle, IL with their HR Team from Arizona to present some insurance information, and me listening to the investment that they made in their employees. I was impressed and they gained me as a customer as I negotiated a deal with the Manager of the Lombard, IL store at the time. I like a company that values there employees. I have been fortunate to always live near a Discount Tire location, since they are conveniently located throughout Illinois and NW Indiana. I have enjoyed the superior service that I have received from the Highland, IN location over the years. I have never had a bad experience. The staff is always professional, helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. They have had tires ordered for me from one of their other locations to accommodate me. The quality of the tires are GREAT! The warranty is definitely needed just as additional insurance. I could go on and on about all of the service, and associates that have assisted me. Discount tire is not worth your time. we arrived at 3pm and was told it would take 2 hours to take 1 nail out of our tire and to patch it. We picked up our car and got a quarter of a mile down the road and our tire dropped 20 psi. We came back around and everyone was acting as if they were in a rush and brushed it off as if we didn't sit 2 hours to deal with this situation again and so far we have waited another almost two hours while my car sits in the middle of the parking lot on a Jack and not pulled into the bay. While we have sat here for almost 4 hours two other customers in the waiting area have complained they put the wrong tires on the car. It should not take 4 hours to patch a hole in a tire from a nail. The workers attitudes were ignorant and said well we could just put air in it after we so called were told it was patched and they were tipped from me. read more

I walked in with an SUV riding on a donut. I know enough to know that I was going to have to purchase at least 2 tires. Upon further inspection, all 4 needed replacing, apparently they were 7 years old and starting to deteriorate. I was shown what was wrong, everything was explained without making me feel dumb. Previous tire shops always seemed to be trying to get one over on the customer and trying to make the big sale, I did not get that vibe at all from Tim and his coworkers. I was honest with them and told them that four new tires were not in the budget that day. They worked with me and I was able to purchase 2 new and 2 used tires without breaking the bank. I loved their sincerity and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Oh and they text a link while they were working so you could see the progress of your vehicle! I purchased 4 new tires on July 22nd and they damaged my fender when they were installing the new tires. Well they denied any damage from them claiming my fender was already damaged prior to them working on the vehicle. Still had dirty hand prints in the damaged area and I showed them pictures of the vehicle without any damage in the fender they filed a claim and turns out they're self insured. That being said they denied any wrong doing and claimed previous damage even when I had a multiple pictures and proof proving other wise. I would stay away to be honest. read more

Terrible service I purchased tires online 7/2/24 with Tire rack and was asked if I would like to make an appt to have my tires put on, so I proceeded to make appt with Discount tire the following day. After arriving for appt the following day around noon, Discount tire let's me know my tires haven't arrived yet and I should go home and wait for them to call me. I go home and they call me back an hour later saying my tires have arrived. I go back to Discount tire and instead of expediting my already delayed appt I was never put in line to have my tires put on. After the forth or fifth person came in taken care of and walked out of store, I walk up to service desk and ask what's going on, only to find out I was never added to list to have my tires put on. After arriving for second time and paying installation for new tires and disposal fee for old tires to service guy Timothy H. I was left to sit for more than a hour while other customers walked in, got ties fixed or replaced and walked out of door 15-30 minutes later that arrived after I was already there. Make appointment online before showing up, or you will be waiting. Even with appointment, there is usually a wait but not as long. Managers will help if any issues. If 0 stars was an option, I would chose it. My story starts out with going to Discount Tire to get a flat tire fixed. I had made an appointment at 1:15, yet was not seen till 1:35. Big deal, I didn't care much. I tell them I was there for my flat tire, tire was in the trunk as I was riding on the spare. They tell me that they got me, I give them my keys, and I sit down. About 1.5 hours roll by, so I get up to see where my car is. It's in the parking lot with a brand new tire on my wheel. Technician comes by and tells me they couldn't fix the tire because part of the bead was gone. Supposedly the bead was gone when they took the tire off, and he said that my tire shouldn't have been holding air with part of the bead missing, yet the tire had held air for 6 months prior when I swapped tires before. This tells me that they broke part of the bead off when they took the tire off, but obviously they're never gonna admit to that. No one ever talked to me, asked me what I'd like to do, what my options are, etc. At this point I'm not happy at all, and I go talk to the manager named Jacob. He shows me my old tire and says that they couldn't patch the tire because of the bead, etc. I go on to ask him why someone didn't come talk to me, and he just shrugged it off, pulled some words from the air, made things up, made excuses, whatever. So I told him give me a few minutes, lemme talk to some people, and I'll give him an answer. In the end, I ended up not paying $200 for the tire that was on my car without my knowledge, and told them to throw my spare back on and throw my wheel and "bad" tire (the one them damaged and wouldn't admit it) back in my trunk. Just to put the icing on the cake, when they were throwing my spare tire back on, they were lazy enough to not notice that I had a hub centric ring on my rotor for my aftermarket wheel. So they bent my spare rims outward, and destroyed my hub centric ring. Never will I go there again, nor will I ever recommend this place. read more

I usually go to them however since they're about 1/2 hour away I want to call and see if they have the tires in stock...no. you can call 10 times and all 10 times nobody would ever answer. I called the 800 corporate number however they contacted the store. But the wrong store instead of highland they contact portage. Where did you get back to me. Portage received an email from corporate and called me. So they forwarded the email to highland. I guess they don't check their emails either because I never received the phone call. Well there goes $800 they won't be getting. My boyfriend is ready to spend an extra $150 and give it to somebody else because they answer their phones. read more

Visited here on Saturday June 29th around 1:05. Sat in line waiting for a pressure and a general tire checkup - as I was sent an email reminder this week. As I was waiting in line behind this pickup truck with a trailer, only one Rep was out assisting. Neverrrr did he walk up to my car, after seeing me sit at least 20 minutes, and at least give me the common courtesy to say hey it's going to be a while. I decided to get out of my car, walk over and ask this Rep what the wait time is like, that's when he told me it's going to be a while I have to in front of you. No common courtesy after seeing me sit this long to say anything!! Terrible customer service.
