I did not have a good experience. I went in for a scheduled appointment only to be told I had to come back because my tire was not in stock. I told them what I needed when I made the appointment several days prior. They did not quote me a price for the tire until I asked when I came back. They first told me the tire was $217. For one tire. I told them I would shop around. They then brought that same tire down to $83. Seems a little dishonest and shady to me. When they were done I asked if my tire had been rotated. Also, apart of my scheduled appointment. They told me no. I asked them to please rotate them and with hesitation and speaking to the assistant manager (Joel) they finally got me on my way. Poor communication, leaving me stranded without tires. Dropped off my winter wheels to have new snow tires put on before a storm. Busy Saturday so I leave them with them and tell them to call when complete. No calls all day, I started calling (6x) around 4:40 on a Saturday before close because it's going to snow the following day. Nothing, now I got nothing until Monday and I work and can't get in for there working hours. Came in today for rotation and balance. I was wondering how they did it so quickly. I usually watch through the window. Today I relaxed and didn't watch. I got home and the front tire that had low pressure was on the back with low pressure. Got the rotation with no balance. There is no way you can do balance with out proper tire pressures. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the staff at Discount Tire in Highland. My family and I drive out to Highland from downtown Chicago just to get our tires serviced here. We have special ordered rims and have bought a set of tires from them, since then they have taken care of the maintenance of those tires with a smile and complete professionalism. Last Saturday we discovered a HUGE nail in one of our tires at 4 pm. We called to see what time they closed, which was 5. We got there 15 minutes before closing and they said "No problem." They sealed the tire and even gave my 3 year old son a tire gauge. Which is now his prized possession. There is always a positive attitude in the store, which would lead us to pay any price, but the price is reasonable as well. Avoid! I am a past employee and will tell you all of what happens behind the great customer service and what happens in the shop. -YOUR TIRES AREN'T BALANCED TO ZERO. They will leave one side of your tire off at least a weight if it's "too little to notice". They will also leave old weights and not start from scratch. -CHECK YOUR RIMS. I've seen stuff get tossed around and rims that are nice get scratched. You will be distracted by your new tires and forget that your rims are put on a machine. -BURNOUTS. The workers are rough with your vehicle, they will spin tires going on and off the lifts. I've also seen a worker leave the window open while it was raining. Interior got soaked along with all the electronics. They secretly dried off the interior and hoped for the best. Bottom line, their focus is on getting you in and out as quickly as possible. Tire changing should be a careful procedure, not a rush. If you care about your vehicle don't come here, they will not be nice to it. If you still want to come here, keep a close eye on your ride, you can drive your car on the lift. I've seen some customers with nice cars stand outside the garage doors...guess what, everything will be done slowly and correct, they will not say nice things about you when you leave, but you will know that it was cared for...by you. My suggestion... buy tires online (TireRack.com) and find a better shop with reasonable mounting prices. read more

The wait time with appointment was only a few moments before they took my car in. The staff was efficient. The premise clean. I would advise them to turn down the music or actually turn it off as while you are waiting for your service to be completed it becomes annoying. Especially if it is not your favorite tunes they are playing. The coffee pot was empty, not sure if they actually have any and no one tells you you can help yourself to a cup. They are within walking distance to Taco Bell and Meijer. But they do not give you a time frame of how long your service will take so I didn't chance leaving. I am very glad to have done business here. I have been around automotive facilities the majority of my life and this is possibly the cleanest most well run shop I have seen. The manager, Will, did a great job of making sure I got the tires that I wanted and followed up as soon as they came in. The day I had them installed they made sure to get me (as I had requested) to check fit on the first before installing the rest. While waiting one guy came around with bottled water for the customers! I was concerned they wouldn't get my tire pressure sensor monitors recalibrated, but sure enough they took care of that too. All the while waiting it was a pleasure to watch their team work through the glass that provides a clear view of the shop (no secrets here). Super well organized, professional, and appreciative. I was so happy with the service here. A year ago I bought a full set of tires. Today, I had a flat. Not sure what to do, I brought it here. I was met with such courteous help. They explained my options. They told me they would know within an hour if the tire could be repaired. I went to Whole Foods and while I was shopping, I got a message it was done. Today I was told about and hour and the lot was basically empty and 2 people were waiting inside so why is it an hour later I am still waiting, car still has not been touched but 8 EIGHT cars that arrived after me are now or have been serviced. I had a 1:00 appointment did not get out untill almost 3:00. They kept putting people in front of me. This is not the first time this has happened. Appointments mean nothing. The guys in the back talking and playing with there phones. When they finnaly went to get my van instead of moving a car in back of it the squeesed by it took him about 5 minutes. When the van was done it sat there because they jacked a car up in back of it working on a tire. They also broke the center of my rim and tried to get it by me without telling me. After I complained they are suppose to get me a new part. Finnally I get in my van in front of the door and no keys. They were in the back where they work. I have been going to discount tires for years but March 13th was my last. One of the tires I had bought was defective and I returned because it was still under warranty. I did get a new tire and had my tires rotate. i told them I was going on a road trip and he said I was all set and not to worry. I was driving on I80 and started to lose control of my vehicle at 50 mph. I pulled off and felt like something broke under my car. I had to get towed and what I was told was horrifying! My lug nuts were not tightened. Only by the grace of GOD am I alive. How can they forget something that important? Still unable to drive because my anxiety is off the charts. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Do not spend your money here! going on a road trip and decided to get new tires which all plans are ruined. took my car in for 4 brand new tires and a windshield wiper replacement after a couple hours they were able to replace 3 tires and was told the lug nuts were broken that which they said was because the person who worked on it last had it super tight. spoke to manager on the phone which by the way sounded very rude started the conversation by saying IM NOT SURE IF IT WAS EXPLAINED TO YOU RIGHT as if I didnt have a reason to be upset! and told me that even though they didnt cause the damage (figured they wouldnt own up to it) they were going to give me a referral to another shop to get it fix in their expense well duhhh it wasnt broken when it came its only right to do that of course. To make the situation worst it is Saturday, they are close tomorrow so now I have to ride around with 3 brand new tires and a messed up one until I find a time out of my busy schedule to bring it to the shop they told me to get it fix and bring it back to them so they can put the fourth tire that they put it my trunk. Dropped off rim to have a new tire installed. When I picked up mounted tire, I noticed that they returned it without a valve stem cap installed! This factory rim was dropped off with a nice factory N2 cap that matched all the way around, and when I asked for the cap back they offered me a black plastic one. I advised him it came in with the N2 cap, and I would like what was on to be given back.... which I should not have to request! He checked on the floor and came back with no solutions other then it was gone! Didn't even give me the plastic one before I left. Terrible attention to detail out of this establishment, I really used to trust there service. If you have the time I would highly recommend going to Tire Rack in South Bend, IN if you are in need of great service and attention to detail!!! Went in to buy 4 set of tires for my Honda Accord and chose the Yokohama YK740. I explained to the sell person that discount tire was offering a deal on eBay stating that these same tires received an extra $100 off if you bought 4. I explained to him that I had previously called and was told they would price match the online offer . I showed him the offer and he said he couldn't price match it because the seller on eBay wasn't Discount Tire it was Discount Tire Direct and it wasn't the same company . The little turds in the tire bay tightened my lugnuts so tight that I couldn't get them off myself. I've had this problem before and when I brought it back they loosened and then again tightened them to tight. Those turds need to learn to hand tighten them rather than using a fucking breaker bar.
