The staff at Meekhof Tire are generous and hard workers! I was driving home from Lansing area and my low tire pressure light came on. I had replaced my tires 3 days prior so I was shocked that I had an issue. I pulled off the expressway and Meekhof Tire happened to be open on that exit road. They took my car in right away, pulled the tire off, and did an inspection. They found that the company that installed my tires that week had damaged the the hub, valve stem, and the sensor, so my tires were not in new condition - there were chunks pulled off. The guys here temporarily fixed my tires and did not charge me for their help! I thanked them and wanted to spread the word that these guys went above and beyond for someone who they didn't know and had not purchased tires from them. My partner and I were able to find the tires we were looking for. That's the good news. The bad news is that, just like every other chain auto shop I've ever been to, they found something extra that was in *dire* need of fixing instead of just giving us tires. I made an appointment and marked that I was dropping my car off and would pick it up later, as I couldn't wait there and had to get back to work. They made me wait in the lobby for 20 minutes, helping walk-ins. Twice I said to the person I had an appointment, bought my tires online, and literally was just dropping off my car. They still made me wait. Once it was finally ''my turn' the guy literally took my key and asked my name. Less than 30 seconds. Absolutely disappointing and frustrating. What's odd though is that their interaction with customers is actually very pleasant (one gentleman, anyway). He was patient with explaining things to the walk-ins. Very contradictory. If someone would have just recognized appointment holders and listened that I only needed to give them my key, would have been totally different experience. read more

I came to the location in Lansing 48917 to have my tires rotated for my 2022 Kia that has 8000 miles. I made the appointment online so once there, was only a few minutes to wait for help. The salesman looked at my tires and also looked at my windshield wipers and asked if they were all still good. I said I haven't had issues and changed my wipers a month ago. They told me my car would be done in about an hour so I proceeded across the street to the shopping center. I was in another store for 10 minutes when I got a text that my car was done. I was shocked. I don't trust that they rotated and balanced my tires that quickly. Also, when did they start asking about windshield wipers. Well, it has been 6 days since my appointment and guess what, my windshield wipers are now damaged and need replacement but only on the drivers side! I will not be going to this store again! I hope not all of the locations are this ingenious. read more

Went in to get snow tires put on my car 2 years ago and they ripped the bead. Had to buy a whole new set of tires and they only covered the price of one tire. Just went to get the newer set of snow tires put on at a different shop and discovered that the bead was ripped on one of these tires as well by Discount tire. Not sure how a tire shop can be this bad at putting tires on a car. read more

They are busy, yes, they are always busy. Expect to wait if you're waiting with your vehicle. Or, you can drop your vehicle off, and trust that they will call you when it's ready. I made a deal with Discount Tire salesman for $941 out the door as the salesperson said including their road hazard warranty. I made an appointment to get my tires installed and after I got there I was offered the road hazard at an extra price, I told them that over the phone my deal was with this coverage. They told me it wasn't. They took it to a manager and he wouldn't budge. I wasted my time all over their bait and switch scheme. I bought a lot of tires for several vehicles and a couple rims at Discount Tire over several years. Yesterday, I waited second in line for over 10 minutes to get air while several employees stopped what they were doing to look at the line building up and then turn away to do something else. One guy was just loading stacks of tires into a container. That's NOT customer service. One employee told me to back up so they could get a vehicle out of a bay. Fine, I did that. Then I put my car back in drive and inched forward. The guy told me to stay there and I stopped. Then he YELLED at me to STAY! How dare he talk to me like a dog. Finally, someone is going to put air in my tires. I told him my low tire pressure light was on but didn't know which tire. His reply is "So, you want me to check all of them?" Well, yeah. He asked how much air do I want in them and I said "I don't know, I'm not the tire guy, but it should be on the tire somewhere." So he checked on the drivers door and said 33 lbs and then asked if that's how much air I want and did I want all of them to be 33 lbs. My sarcastic thought was: No, just in one or two of them... Geez, here's your sign. If I was physically able, I would do it myself, but unfortunately that's not the case. read more

Waited 3hrs for them to tell us they broke the key needed to take the rims off the truck I had. Said it wouldn't be in until Friday. Keep in mind, they looked over the vehicle prior to us waiting. I completely support first come, first serve. I patiently waited two hours for my new tires to be put on. When they were done, they informed me that one of the tires was defective and they would have to order a replacement. It is my opinion that, upon my return, I should have been moved to the front of the line. I came in over a week ago and had to return for no fault of my own, which was an inconvenience to me. I'm not impressed with this store. On the Discount Tire website, it showed that they had 4 of the tires I wanted. I called before I went there to make sure they were available. When I arrived, I paid for the tires and waited for my turn. After my vehicle was up on the lift with all 4 tires off, they realized that they only had 2 tires. Their first suggestion was that I come back on Monday (it was currently Saturday); that wasn't an option. The second suggestion is that they could send someone to the Okemos store and get 2 tires from their inventory; that's what we decided to do. It took the driver 1 1/2 to make the round trip from the west side to Okemos. The total time spent at the store was 3 hours. read more

Stopped in here one Saturday morning after noticing my driver front tire was losing air. Got there right before they opened and was 3rd in line. They took me right away and took a look at my tire. Turns out a screw was lodged in my tread. 15 minutes later my car is done and waiting for me out front. They patched, mounted and balanced my tire and made sure all 4 tires were at the correct pressure ( I checked later, they were). I asked what's the total and was informed nothing. Nothing?!?!? You have got to be kidding me. Nope, not kidding. That was totally unexpected and refreshing. Thank you! I wish I lived closer so I could use them more. Oh and why not 5 stars? I drove in to this location yesterday with my tpms light indicating a tire was low. Sam came and checked it out. He found the sensor was pointing to the wrong tire so he scheduled me in for repairing the tpms sensor and repairing the tire that had picked up a nail. When the job was done, right about the time he said it would take, they handed me a receipt for the service. NO CHARGE! They didn't even ask if I had bought the tires there or anything. On Nov 2nd I blew a rear tire on the highway. Once I got the spare on in the rain, I finally made it to the Discount Tire off of Saginaw in Lansing. The line to speak to a representative was a long one...I was behind about 9 people. I admit, I was in a foul mood. Once I got to the front, I spoke with Jeff Clark. He is an extremely friendly and funny individual. Just with his friendly nature, he was able to change my mood and I decided that instead of fixing the one tire, to just get four new tires.
