For the past several years I have participated in a fund raising cycle ride every September. Each year I like to do at least ride somewhere other than home. This year my wife and I chose to do part of the Olympic discovery trail in Washington. Rather than transport our bikes, we rented E-bikes. We arrived at 10:00 o'clock and our bikes were ready to go. A quick review of the bikes and test ride and we were off. This is one of the most beautiful bike rides I've ever done and the ease of riding makes it so much easier to enjoy the scenery. Great service, reasonable prices and a fabulous ride. Highly recommended. When you are finished riding, there is an excellent beer and brew place

I had such a lovely day riding along the Olympic Discovery Trail. The owner was super helpful. He let me test out a couple bikes before choosing, then gave me specific directions for a route he suggested that ended up being perfect! Highly, highly recommend. It's an affordable option ($50 for two hours) and a great way to get around Port Angeles and not worry about riding up hills.

10/10 would recommend. What a great time! Brandon is super friendly, fun, professional, and safety-conscious. He was a total champ helping my elderly parents get started with their bikes and was really helpful with advice on how to keep them safe and which routes would be fun and doable. Olympic Discovery Trail is beautiful and there are portions that are really steep even for experienced cyclists, so e-biking this route is great! So great that this rental service is available at this exact location. Bikes are well-maintained and there's a decent variety depending on whether you prefer a more conventional cycling experience w some power assist or a really powerful e-bike. And you can choose how much of a workout you want. Would totally do this again without my parents so I can do more challenging routes, heh. And will definitely recommend to friends! Brandon also gave great local recs for other activities and places to eat!

Great bike shop to work with! Just purchased a new Aventon Ramblas from Brandon. Was able to test ride another bike prior to the Ramblas and made my decision. Great value as I placed my order during the recent Memorial Day sale! Brandon ordered my bike and had it in and professionally assembled in just over a week. Super happy with the bike and the great service! Photo from my first ride on the Olympic Discovery trail.

This such a wonderful experience, it couldn't be written on the phone, and I brought out the laptop! Back story, we moved 3 states in 4 years and hadn't had time to go bike riding together, and living in Seattle we've been exploring the local new spots and hiking alone since COVID. So this weekend we made time to take a bike ride together in the Olympic National Park area. And this was exactly what we wanted and needed. Brandon and Jess are two of the most thoughtful, inspiring, kind people ever. They made sure we had water, we knew how to use their bikes, we did a test ride and they made adjustments as needed for us to have the best ride possible. We went over directions, where to stop, things to be mindful of, and I felt prepared, comfortable and safe riding. We even checked in, and talked about the ride and how it went, before moving on to our next trail. Usually experiences are...it happened, it ended, and then forgotten, but I will certainly keep in touch, and make sure anyone visiting us has this experience as well. The paths were excellent, with lots of stops for me to take photos, and my husband reminisced of how it reminded him of riding in Wales as a child. Everyone on the paths were friendly and courteous. It was overall ten stars, to be sure!

Originally booked the 130pm half day sea kayaking tour online. Received a call the next day saying…read morethe 130pm tour was already full for the next few days (not sure why it let me book online then). But luckily I was able to be flexible and switch to the morning tour (they gave me a day's notice). The staff on the phone said it would be much less windy anyway...which definitely turned out to be true and I was so glad for it bc it would've been chilly otherwise! They're doing great on the Covid safety measures as much as possible. Instead of parking at the office and riding a bus to the bay, they just have you either follow the guide in his vehicle with the kayaks or give you an address/coordinates for your gps. It was easy to keep up with our guide. Everyone wore masks until we got into our own individual kayaks. Very easy to practice social distancing in this setting! The office was very easy to find, right off the highway and even has a winery right next door (and was highly recommended by the host at my inn). Plenty of parking everywhere we went. After a brief safety talk and bit of equipment orientation, we launched from a rocky beach in Freshwater Bay and went out into the Strait of San Juan de Fuca. It was absolutely gorgeous weather - sunny and calm and a perfect temperature. The water was insanely clear! We saw jellyfish and kelp crabs and all manner of birds! We even sampled a little bit of the kelp haha! Our guide, Chris, was so knowledgeable and he made the tour interesting and really fun! There's even a little cave you can swoop through if you have one of the smaller kayaks! I highly recommend you bring sturdy water shoes and waterproof camera!

I took my boyfriend out to Sooke to rent Hobie kayaks and we had a blast!…read more Allen gave us great suggestions about where we should pedal around and thoroughly explained how to use the kayaks. He outfitted us with everything we would need including a banana to snack on! I felt completely safe the entire time even though I'd been nervous going into it and my boyfriend still felt like he'd had an adventure. We're both from the prairies so seeing sea stars, seals, crab, eagles, and even boats was pretty exciting for us. Excellent fun and we plan to do it again!

My mom and I were not great at using the oars but Allen was patient and gave us tips to help us! He was entertaining and taught us how to use kelp as a horn! We saw lots of wildlife including some cute seals that we got really close to! Kenny, "The owner" response to Maggie G's review is false. She went in and saw a bike for sale…read morethat she was potentially interested in purchasing and sat on it only to get talked down to and yelled at. Nothing was broken, no bike was rolled away with, Kenny just needs to take a class or read a book or two on customer service. Shortly before she came in I was in the store looking to rent a bike. I came in with the intention of renting at 2:30 on a Tuesday and returning 10:00 am on Thursday around 44 hours. So I asked if he could give me a potential discount and he basically laughed in my face and said no, we only do calendar day rentals. So $72 a day, which is ridiculous because the other local bike store rentals for $45 a day for a similar bike. For 3 days, there is a 3 day discount of $24 off equalling $192, still ridiculous for 44 hours. They did have ten or so identical bikes outside so Kenny must be a trust fund baby or something just leaving business out there. Neither of us got a welcoming experience or any type of feeling of hospitality or simply want to have us in the store. I recommend Lopez kayaks and bicycle works just down the road, completely different experience. The only reason we didn't is they weren't open for the season yet. Id rather walk the island than rent from Village Cycles.
