My brakes were slipping on some big hills while on a bikepacking trip. It freaked me out so badly, that I, in a fit panic, rushed into the bike shop with my bike. The owner graciously held on to my stuff and they fixed my bike within an hour. I'm so grateful to their understanding of my situation! Also, they tuned my derailleur and stored my bags while I went to the coffee shop across the street. It was a splurge to rent two EBikes for three days but totally worth it! We had a blast and got the most out of our rental- biking to the top of Mt Constitution (can't believe we did this on road bikes 30 years ago!) followed by another day in Moran State Park. I'd never tried an ebike before, so I thought this would be a good opportunity. It was great! I reserved online and the day of, walked over there from my rental (5 mins away) and they were ready for me within 5 minutes of my arrival. Vicki gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it, a map and off I went for 2 hours to tool around the east side of the island. I went about 13 miles and it was glorious. Definitely ample hills to test the highest mode -- turbo -- but it was thrilling to go downhill, too. I had a great time with Wildlife and this ebike. The owners are also so friendly and helpful. I will definitely rent from them again when I'm staying on the island/in Eastsound! read more

We called Wildlife cycles on the 1st day of our stay on Orcas Island. The nicest woman gave me the lowdown & we were able to reserve 4 E-bikes right away for the family (kids 13 & 14). When we arrived at Wildlife Cycles, Dan showed us our bikes & fit us w our helmets and then pointed out a fun 2 hour route for us. We had a fabulous time checking out the island by E-bike~ went through some neighborhoods and by a few beaches and even hopped on a trail through a magical forest. When we returned we learned that they weren't even officially open for the day, but rented the bikes to us nevertheless! Definitely would highly recommend if you are visiting Orcas Island!! read more

Dan and Vicki do a great job. Their rental bikes are in great condition, and they also provide great service besides just the bikes. Bike rental drop off at the ferry dock is super useful, and they do shuttling to the top of Mt. Constitution. My family just rented e-bikes from Wildlife Cycles are are delighted with the bikes and service they provided. The bikes weren't the basic models but higher end ones that weee very responsive and comfortable. Helmets and baskets were included. We received instructions, maps, and guidance as to what routes to take. The owner and his assistant were both knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great ride from Eastsound village to West Beach, went to the ice creamery they recommended and took the gentler climb back that they had suggested. We highly recommend them! read more

My family of 5 wanted to ride bikes while we were on Orcas Island. We are really glad we talked to Dan and Vicky at Wildlife Cycles because they recommended that we rent e-bikes. None of the five of us had ever ridden e-bikes for any length of time and didn't know what to expect. We loved them! They still required us to peddle but helped us out on the hills. Vicky gave us a map with various routes highlighted and special destinations marked. We saw a lot of the island in a much more intimate way than by driving around. Dan and Vicky let us leave the bikes at the shop when we rode into town which was convenient. They also loaned us a multi outlet plug strip so that we could easily charge the bikes at our rented house. All of our interactions with everyone at Wildlife cycles were positive and the biles they provided were easy to operate, well maintained and a lot of fun. read more

Spending many days on Orcas Island, I wanted to be able to include cycling in my daily routine. I booked a multi-day rental of a high end mountain bike (even though I would not be riding any trails). Great cycling resource in this small community. Friendly owners and staff; they go out of their way to make your cycling experience while visiting the island the best possible. And not just with rentals; I visit the island every year and ship my bike to them for unboxing and reassembly. I've also run into the occasional mechanical problem with my bike while here, which they've attended to while I waited. On this year's trip, my Speedplay cleat failed and, while they did not stock that brand, they rented me a set of SPD shoes and pedals so I could continue my island riding. My girlfriend and I rented E-bikes on Orcas Island for the day. The bikes were ready when we arrived iat 10:00am. Dan was very helpful in recommending routes and locations to visit complete with a map. We had a great day riding from Eastsound to Rosario Resort, Moran State Park, Doe Bay Resort, and a loop from Eastsound to West Bay and back. Bikes in excellent condition and no problems. Definitely covered a lot more territory than if using conventional bikes due to hilly terrain. Still had 1-2 bars on the charge when returned bikes at 5:00pm. read more

I rented a road bike while on Orcas Island to ride up Mt Constitution. They took the time to understand my riding skill and needs. The bike I rented was an older model Cannondale but it was in beautiful condition and well maintained. The shifting was dialed!
