We've had an incredible experience here thus far! From day one, the level of care and attention given to our child has been exceptional. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support learning through play, creativity, and social development. We recently switched daycares, and the difference with drop-offs and pick-ups has been night and day! We have LOVED our experience with DI and we're so sad our daughter is aging out. We had "issues" with 2 other daycares prior to coming to DI. Our daughter was speech delayed and having multiple behavioral issues. After a few months at DI she was almost fully back onto track. The teachers truly care about my kiddo. I transfered my son to this preschool after a bad experience at another school. He has thrived here. At his old school he would stand in a corner when i dropped him off and not talk to anyone. My son thoroughly enjoys coming to school here, he has excelled in his English and Spanish vocabulary, his potty training has accelerated, his love for the arts grows and he cannot get enough reading books. I attribute this growth to Ms. Tuesday and Ms. Ronnie. My son always is talking about them and cannot wait to return. The process was quick and easy to get him signed up which I was relieved since I had been on several other waiting lists during Covid. Heard about this place from multiple neighbors who sent their kids there and we followed suit! First with our 2 year old and then our next kid when she was old enough. Our first kid is about to graduate pre-k and we have loved every minute of the 3 years he was there. The staff and teachers are wonderful! I never worry about my kids while they're at Discovery because I know they're well taken care of, and learning in fun ways! My son knows a decent amount of Spanish words and is excited to learn more and is always excited to tell me about the themed weeks of learning they have. They also have fun family events throughout the year too which we have also loved. Both of my boys have attended this preschool and we have been very pleased with our experience here. The teachers are kind and love all the kids like their own. Ms Sandra, Ms Ajani and Ms Kaylee have made my boys feel right at home even on days when they needed extra snuggles. Discovery Isle-Temecula has amazing staff with a caring mindset and very welcoming. As a first time mom, it's such a good feeling seeing your child get excited about going to daycare! The teachers really make an effort to engage the kids while working on their development. My child has been attending since she was 3 months, and is now almost 3 years old! We absolutely love Discovery Isle Preschool in Temecula. Our child has been attending for close to 2 years now. The teachers that we have had for our child have been very attentive, caring, loving and always give feedback where needed. I do not have to worry or give a second thought when my child is in their care. We have 1 more year to go until our child transitions into kindergarten. We absolutely LOVE Discovery Isle. The teachers are so kind and caring. When my son was eight months old, he started in the infant room, and he would actually leap from my arms to go to one of the teachers, he loved her so much. I also love the focus on learning and not just chaotic free play. Every day, my four-year-old daughter comes home and I'm amazed by what she's learned at school. They teach science, writing and Spanish and so many things! Every week they have a new theme and a book to correspond to that theme and they learn all about that. I typically never leave reviews on yelp, but I think it is important to leave this review. My son attended this facility for eight months. the first 5 to 6 months wee wonderful. When he transitioned into the three year old classroom, everything went downhill and all of the inconsistencies came to light. The teachers at Discovery isle do not care about the children. His new teacher told us that she has so many children under her care that she is not able to pay attention to him. My son was excluded from activities left unsupervised and ignored for hours. Further, his new teacher decided on her own without any medical credentials that our son is either autistic or developmentally challenged, which are things that his pediatrician fully does not agree with. After bringing these concerns up to the administrators, we were told that there's nothing that can be done, and that the teachers are the best that there are, and they are always right. in our last three weeks with Discovery isle up to three teachers gave their resignation and left, leaving the children to be shuffled around in different classrooms without the proper supervision and teacher to student ratio that is required by state law. Thankfully we were able to leave and find a better accommodation for our child and I sincerely recommend that you never take your child to this place. read more

Our son started at the Oceanside location after a very bad experience at another day care and we immediately fell in love. They have always treated him as their own child and have the utmost respect for the families. When we moved to Temecula, they were able to accommodate our son in the 1 year old room at the time. He is now in the 4 year old pre-school room with Ms. Tonia & Ms. Jennifer. They are both amazing. They provide a great balance of caring but also enabling the children to be problem solvers and independent. When I hear about what other kids are learning that are the same age of my son at other facilities, I realized how advanced the education is at Discovery Isle. My friends children who are four, are learning things that my son learned when he was two. Great education. Great staff. Thank you for being our second home for the past couple of years. My daughter went here for years and it was fine. A little unorganized with little to no warning of room changes (as a first time parent I wanted more warning for me and my daughter). Some teachers were amazing and others I wondered why they were there because they seemed very unhappy. I never had any real issues until my daughter was 4; I wanted to ensure she was ready for kinder. When I checked, assignments were being sent home incomplete, which told me that my daughter was not being giving 1:1 attention to ensure she completed them. They send daily emails with activities they did and food they ate but the food would be inaccurate. It would be a classmate's birthday so they brought in pizza and the email would still read "lunch provided from home". These inaccuracies occurred several times and made me wonder what else was inaccurate. My daughter informed me that her teacher stated that "if her friend pulled her dress again for her to do it back". This is NOT what I teach my child or want her taught. The last straw was the assistant principal referring to my legal affairs with my ex husband. Having no legal expertise there is no reason for her to try to ostracize me in the way that she did while including my ex husband. This was completely out of line and I would never do business with someone like this, let alone allow my child to be around someone that thought this was okay. On top of everything the information she referred to was inaccurate. In the end I did her the courtesy of making her aware I was not bringing my daughter on my days of custody and the attached picture was her response. read more

I was thoroughly unimpressed with this school. This was the first preschool for my child. He would always cry when dropped off and told us he cried every day. He was always dirty with a runny nose (un-wiped) when we collected him. They claim to have a wonderful academic program, however, he did not grow in academics or language during the months he was there. The teachers seemed inconvenienced by his food allergies, even though we provided all of his food. There were instances where i collected him with grazed knees, that had not been washed, bandaged and no note was provided to us. We disenrolled him from this program and moved him to a smaller nearby home based preschool. His language and social skills improved dramatically and he is now happy to attend preschool. read more

*****READ THIS BEFORE GOING**** I will stick to facts not emotions here! I called to make an appointment to come visit the school for my 3 year old. When you call you speak to someone who is not at that location but sets up appointments and answers questions for you. This woman was Alicia (I think) anyway, she sold me on the school! She is amazing and very kind. She answered all my questions and stayed patient with this nervous mom. She advised me my appointment was with the principal Kristi Polk. It was for 9am. I arrived early around 8:30ish. Upon arriving I was told that the principal would be in right at 9 so we hung out waiting. Waiting, waiting and waiting! She never showed. I said to the girl at the front desk is this normal for her to not show up for her appointment with a new family? She told me that she called and would be in by 11am. Remember ******* my appointment was for 9am. The girl at the front was very kind and helpful. She offered us the chance to see the classroom but advised us she is supposed to stay up front at all times to watch the door. She was very hesitant about going in the room with us and kept poking her head out looking towards the hallway to the front. I felt rushed because I knew she needed to get back up there. Right away I noticed the bathroom has no walls and it opens up jack & jill style to the other preschool classroom so your kid is in the bathroom with another child from another room with no walls or privacy. I didn't know how I felt about that. I never got to see the outside play area because of course we had to get the sweet receptionist back up front. She apologized and gave us papers and we left, agreeing to come back when Kristi got there. We returned and she came to the door to open it and didn't even introduce herself. I had to ask her, are you the principal? She was like yea come in my office. No apologies whatsoever. I began to tell her about our appointment mishap only for her to cut me off and say I don't know who told you that it had to be with me! Anyone can give a tour. Do you need anything else? I told her we were concerned there are no cameras, anyone can come in and she said no someone is always at the front desk so we can see who comes in. Um that's not true I was here earlier when the girl left to give me a tour. She didn't offer any type of reassurance for safety. Her phone rang and she rushed us out. I am not kidding. She was literally like ok any other questions? Let me know when your ready for him to start. It was awful. When we got in the car we immediately said together he is not going here! I cannot believe such a cold individual runs the school. Shows up when she feels like it, doesn't ask about your child, doesn't apologize or offer you a real tour. It was not a good experience. We went with Rancho Christian and the difference in treatment was night and day. We were welcomed right away and given an amazing tour!! They were so nice and so far it has been awesome. They have cameras, gates, and armed security officers on campus! If you want your kid safe and with a nice principal who cares, avoid this place. I'm not sure how she got the job but clearly she doesn't care about it and shows up when it's convenient for her. You decide! read more

The infant room was amazing, my son needed extra support and love while he received medical treatment. The 2 year old room has an excellent education. My only sadness is that the connection between the 2 year old teacher and my son is not very close. For some reason they do not connect. The aid in the classroom is amazing and very caring this compensates some for the poor relationship with the head teacher. The class size can get a bit large and cumbersome. At this point there are 22 children in the classroom with only 2 teachers. Though that is with in the minimum as outlined by state standards I think for what the tuition is we should do better then the minimum. So were are not sure about keeping my son in this classroom. We are giving it a bit of time to see if things improve. read more

My daughter has been out of this school for almost a year but I saw it pop up on my feed and noticed that it had little reviews so I will review it. Honestly, this school has a great curriculum for learning and advancing the intellectual skills of all children. My 5 year old niece still attends and has been for the past two years. My daughter started out early at about 3 months. I truly loved the infant classroom. There were a few caregivers that my daughter was particularly fond of. She would mostly be playing on the floor when I would pick her up but I am ok with this because it helped her mature a little faster. The reason I am giving it three stars is because my daughter was moved up to the second stage of the infant classroom, for toddlers. It was here that I felt that the staff to student ratio was too high for close contact, love and nurturing for the children. I cannot say enough good things about Mrs. Nefris from the infant side of the facility! She is beyond awesome and very communicative. My daughter just never warmed up to the toddler side. She would cry every time I dropped her off and every time when she saw me as I was picking her up. I felt that the curriculum was great but the atmosphere was a little too cold for children that young because there were too many children for the amount of staff provided. I ended up not needing care anymore but have since found a great substitute for childcare by an in-home provider. It just depends on what you expect for your child. I lean on the love and nurturing side than on the curriculum. In the right environment, every child will excel in my opinion. read more

My 4.5 year old daughter picked up a dirty (uncapped used syringe) from her preschool (Discovery Isle) playground. The principle nor anyone else from the school contacted us when the incident occurred. They waited over 2 hours to advice us of the incident. They never contacted the fire department. My daughter wasn't checked for possible puncture wounds from someone in the medical field. I checked her at home with a flashlight and then had her checked by her pediatrician. My daughter had to give 8 tubes of blood to be checked for Hepatitis B, C and HIV. The school principle was aware that the Verizon store located next door had to call the police the night before my daughters incident because they caught some junkies shooting up drugs behind their building. The principle didn't have the campus checked before allowing the children to play in the playground. read more

This place is amazing and I am surprised they don't have more reviews. To the person that complained they had bottle caps and spilled milk, well they aren't spotless 24 hours a day, kids go to school here. You are missing out. They are so kind and loving to the kids. They are well staffed and care about the kids. They have great communication and I love that I can watch my daughter on video, they have cameras in every room. They post a letter every day on the door of each classroom letting you know what they did that day and what questions to ask your child to engage in conversation. They are very organized and clean which I love. They have a great calendar that they follow and engage with the kids. My grandchildren have attended for 2 years and they will both be moving on in August to the Public school system. Ms Anita was both of my grandsons teacher. I am going to miss her enthusiasm, wit, and the creativity she brings to her classroom. This school year Ms Anita was paired with Ms Jackie, and what a great pair they made. I love that they incorporate bilingual activities into their curriculum. My expectations were surpassed in each area; curriculum, social skills, music, play and crafts. I was impressed with the level of security they maintain and the communication with parents that they foster. Buyer beware. The staff have fake smiles and the tuition starts at 435 a month and goes up depending on how many days and how kids you leave there. They told me that there were 2 teachers per class but the catch was that the 2 teachers rule only applies if the class has more then ten at a time. You ask about credentials and back grounds on the teachers, but don't offer any proof. I've done surprise visits while the kids are outside only to find the "teachers" at the far end of the building smoking. Not caring that the kids are too far to react to snake/spider bites. Our child has gone here since he was an infant. He's in great hands and has grown physically and mentally. They do a fantastic job. The staff are great and you can tell they enjoy what they do. We sent our daughter to Discovery Isle after some concern about her lack of communicating. Our doctor recommended some speech therapy and after two sessions we saw little improvement. My wife suggested Discovery Isle so she could be around more children her age. It was a hit! She immediately began speaking and engaging in verbal conversations. She learned all the things she needed to advance in school when she was old enough. She made lots of friends and we found the staff to be very accommodating and nurturing. We were very sad when our daughter was old enough to attend public school, but we were so glad we found Discovery Isle as we have watched her excel in her new school. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. My daughter started here when she was 4 months old. The loving staff made us feel like family. They always kept us in the loop on things she was learning as well as fun things that happened throughout the day. We recently moved to the area and my daughter had never been in daycare before as my husband and I would alternate working day/night shifts and both grandmas would fill in for whatever childcare needs we had. Doing this for 2 years took its toll on us and we finally decided to put her in a childcare facility when we moved to Temecula. She started at Discovery Isle the day after we moved into the new house so there was a lot of adjusting on her part. First day was awesome as she didn't know what hit her but the following two weeks were rough. Drop offs were filled with tears but the teachers were awesome, they didn't stress out over it. Although it tore my heart to leave my baby in tears I knew she was being well cared for. After two weeks I dropped her off at Discover Isle in the morning, she turned to me, waved and said "bye mom!" I knew I did the right thing. My daughter loves Miss Nadine and Miss Christina they are the best! She has been advancing by leaps and bounds since starting here and it's only been less than 2 months. Being an only child she enjoys being social with the other kids which was lacking when she was being cared for at home. I wish I had started her in daycare sooner, I would have saved myself some sanity. The one thing I want to mention is that I've noticed a few suspect characters around near the school. This is not something Discovery Isle can control or be blamed for. The school does have a security coded front door and gates all around. Teachers are always in the playgrounds when kids are outside. So far I have no reason to doubt my child's safety here but I will post updates to my review in the future if anything changes. On a side note, it's near my daughter's favorite pizza place Blaze so she knows thats where daddy takes her for Friday night dinner. Very convenient. read more

I have had my child attending preschool at Discovery Isle for the past year. After looking at 4 other schools on top of DI I felt I had a great grasp of what I was looking for in a preschool. Committed caring Teachers, a program that allows play but encourages learning, a facility that is clean and safe, and a curriculum that not only teaches our babies every day "school" skills but also emotional and social skills. Through song, reading, and movement my child has truly advanced and he loves telling us all about his school day. His teachers Ms. Nicole and Ms. Tonia are among the best. The only thing I can recommend about Discovery Isle in Temecula is NOT to take your kids there. We only had our son there for a couple months because we couldn't last any longer. There were many things that bothered us but it can be boiled down to the fact that they seemed to care more about our money than our child. The management there essentially treated our child like a number. The most troubling thing was how often they would call us to pick up our son constantly. Granted he was sick a couple times but layered on top of that were the numerous times they called us for ridiculous reasons. One time they called because our son had a couple red bumps on his ankle. When I arrived it was obvious the bumps were just from playing outside. They said that in order to have him return the next day I had to take him to our Pediatrician and get a note that he was ok. Luckily I was able to get him in that afternoon and our Dr. Laughed out loud when seeing the bumps. In our first two months there there was not one week that went by where we weren't called to pick our son. At the time my wife and I both commuted to San Diego for work. When we talked with them about how often they were calling us they simply did not care. One response I received was that they had some parents that were very sensitive to the health of other children. Really? When do other parents have a say when other kids have to go home? The straw that broke the camel's back was when I had to pick up my son one day because he was actually sick and when I arrived he had been put on a cot behind the front desk and nobody was watching him. When 2 year old kids are sick they need to be comforted, not neglected. Save yourself the trouble and stay away. read more

My son just finished the Kindergarten program at Discovery Isle with a tiny ceremony on the outside playground that brought tears to the eyes of all watching, including myself. We first brought him to Discovery Isle 5 years ago at the tender age of 4 months old, and they have been in charge of his care during work days ever since. Each step of the way they seem to have taken care to provide as much learning opportunity as is appropriate. The open area they have for non-walking infants is great, as it allows the babies to roll around and start trying to walk without fear of being stomped on or falling on anything hard. This place does not feel like just a bunch of baby sitters, rather it feels like people who, as the term "Child Development Center" suggests, work to help kids develop. I would definitely send another child there, with my only reservation being that they would have to leave after kindergarten. read more
