Who knew applying to preschool and elementary gives the same pressure and stress as finding a college? I'm not saying we are a Rancho Christian lifer, but I will say our experience in both the preschool and elementary school have been positive. After researching, talking to parents, and finally touring a couple of the Temecula schools, we enjoyed the fact that Rancho provided an environment that felt safe, enrichment classes that we felt were important (such as the arts), and also included a space for our kids to grow academically and spiritually. *PRESCHOOL REVIEW* We initially toured the preschool, since my daughter was not yet potty trained (and in order for her to proceed in her age level preschool, she would need to be fully potty trained). This wasn't entirely alarming since most preschools in the area have a "mandatory" deadline, which honestly can be stressful on parents. Both my kids "eased" into it; I've always believed that potty training should be a gentle transition and encouraged, not pushed. What set Rancho apart was the partnership that the admission team provided with us, recommending she start in the summer enrolled in the "Little Tots" program, which would provide her in a 3 month setting that eased her into the routine. Ms. Annalise was an amazing summer school teacher. She was in tune with what our daughter needed (especially since she was switching childcare). During the fall, she switched to Ms. Faith - another amazing teacher who also provided a safe potty environment. Soon enough, she was transitioned over to her grade level class with Ms. Jem and Ms. Shilpi. Three smooth transitions over the course of a year speaks volumes of the staff. She loved all of her teachers, and the app that the school uses - Brightwheel, provided a snapshot of their potty, eating and pix/videos for the day. The only thing I wish is that preschool and elementary somehow used the same platform to streamline communication and forms. Apps I had to download for the school are: -Blackbaud: for all application school forms, tuition/billing schedules, etc -Brightwheel: preschool only app for updates/communication -Band: Elementary school app for updates and communication Pros and Cons: Pros: -Rancho is an excellent communicator via Brightwheel/IG/FB/Email. It's easy to get a hold of someone via phone/Brightwheel, they are responsive which is important as a parent! -After a certain time in the morning, the entrance on the side of the school (closest to the preschool is closed), you will need to go to the front of the school and pass the guard check-in gate. I personally love this since there are measures in place to check any guest that comes in after a certain time. -Each parent/guardian is provided with a check in code. This is used to sign in and out of preschool at the front office. -Great school events and staff -Love that our daughter gets to see her brother (who attends elementary) at some of the school events! -Chapel: our daughter looks forward to chapel Wednesdays. Every preschooler has a blue chapel shirt; the service is age appropriate, while providing them with a spiritual baseline. Cons: -The exit gate isn't always closely monitored. There typically is staff around the area to keep an eye on anyone exiting (along with any kids trying to get out), but this could be better. -Summer school logistics was a little chaotic. And this comes from being a first time Rancho parent. We were unsure of where to go for early drop-off or late pickup. -Preschool feels siloed, I wish there was more cohesion between Preschool, Elementary and High School. Overall, we love the fact that our daughter has had a good experience with both the staff and her classmates. We feel that our voices are heard if there is ever an issue, and that for the most part administration is also visible and pleasant to communicate with! We had a deeply disappointing experience at this preschool. We chose it because it claimed to be rooted in Christian values and guided by the fruits of the Spirit--but sadly, our time there reflected none of that. The environment lacked warmth, compassion, and consistency. Communication was poor, and it often felt like the staff were overwhelmed or simply going through the motions. Since leaving, our child is like a completely different person--happier, more confident, and finally excited to go to school each day. His new school is everything we had hoped for: it's run with care, competence, and a true passion for early childhood education. The teachers there clearly love what they do and it shows. I wouldn't recommend this preschool to families looking for a genuinely nurturing, faith-based foundation for their little ones. read more

My family and I recently moved to Temecula and we were searching for a preschool for our daughter. After touring different schools we fell in love with Rancho Christian Preschool for our 4 year old. The staff was kind and the tour was very thorough. There is a cute playground and many different outdoor toys for the kids to play with. Rancho Christian Preschool has been a complete an answer to prayers! While in the midst of our move to the area, finding the right school for our kids was a major priority. When we found RCP, they were incredible from the very first warm welcome phone call, to the intentional time spent answering questions, to placing our 3 year old in the right class. Making a move is hard in any circumstance, but RCP staff has truly brought the grace of God to their school by supporting the wellbeing of each child and their family. I have two children currently in preschool and one that will be starting this summer. It is so tough leaving your child for the first time but the staff here always comfort both my child and me as they transition into the school world. You can tell they love all the children and their job. I love that it is also centered around Christ. My older two are off to Kinder and TK at Rancho next year and am confident that their preschool experience has properly prepared them for the next step. We first toured Rancho Christian school a year ago because we were considering moving to the area. We were moving from a much smaller Christian school. The campus alone speaks for itself. It is beautiful and spacious and we loved that the church was also on campus. Kim in the admissions office was wonderful throughout the entire process. Our kids did a Shadow Day with a student in their respective grades and were able to experience an entire day at school as a Rancho student. They had a great experience and after Shadow Day, we felt Rancho was where God wanted our kids to be so we made the move to Temecula and enrolled them. The sports, the academics, the community and the Christian environment we have already felt has been amazing! I would happily give this school a 0 this is a terrible school do not take your children here I was a student here for 6 years, and my mental health decreased so much while being here that I had to go to therapy for the trauma they caused to me. I have to tell you that this school is the worst school I have ever been to, I have personally known students who have been sexually assaulted on school grounds and told the principal and other staff members. They ignored it and said that they were seeking attention. I must warn you do not enroll your children at this school if you care about them. read more

This review is for the preschool only, as we have never had any experience with the RC elementary or high school programs. I have had two kids attend Rancho Christian preschool since 2019. My daughter is currently enrolled while my son has moved on to a charter school for elementary. There are so many wonderful things to say about this school. The first that comes to mind is about the teachers and staff. We have never encountered a bad teacher. All the teachers we have worked with have been so compassionate, kind, and genuinely interested in the well-being of my kids. I don't think RC could have more caring teachers than the ones they currently have. I also need to mention Erin, the director. She is hands on and amazing! She knows the kids and parents well and is very involved in the day to day. The second wonderful thing about RC is the security. I leave my daughter at school with a feeling of confidence that she will be safe throughout the day there. RC has a great system to alert parents of any potential safety issues that arise and the kids seem to have regular earthquake and fire drills. Lastly, I love the play areas they have set up for the kids. There is more than plenty for the kids to play with at recess-they are very well equipped-and they definitely keep enough staff out during recess to watch over the kiddos. The only problem is that my daughter gets upset when I come pick her up too early. However, as a full-time working mom, that is a great problem to have! :) read more

My daughters (kinder and first grade) found comfort in this school and it was a great break from distance learning for them. Shoutout to Miss Peck! She is a phenomenal kindergarten teacher . Unfortunately we won't be going back next year for personal reasons but I did love the experience it gave my girls. Pros: Active dialogue with teachers Many events and celebrations Weekly chapel Cons: Lack of diversity Academic curriculum is at same speed as public school Class sizes My kids loved their time here and are said to leave. As a parent, I would make any sacrifice for them to afford this school but the lack of diversify for my black daughter made her feel very insecure in herself. I also did feel like Black History Month wasn't as inclusive as other major milestones were celebrated. Im giving this school 5 stars because they do jump through hoops for affordability for all families. They also have grown immensely with the pandemic and it appears it is going into the campus and schools. I also realize that the inland valley in general does not have a diverse racial demographic composition. It is expected that a private school would be even less than the public schools. I felt my eldest daughter would benefit from a school that had more students that were of the same race. Rancho is a great school that is growing rapidly but also navigating that as best as they can. read more

My initial time at Rancho was rough -- not only was I a moody teen who felt as though I didn't fit anywhere, I think I went to Rancho at a time it was experiencing growing pains. With that being said, I LOVE getting to look back and recognize the variety of ways that Rancho has helped launch me into adulthood, and thrive in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Here were the aspects of the school that I appreciate the most, and why I recommend the school to others in the Temecula area: - Academic Rigor and Preparedness: My first year of college academically, was a breeze because of the teachers at Rancho. Though high school was hard, college was more than just "do-able" Now, I am half way through grad school, still using tools and techniques I was taught at Rancho more than 5 years ago - Creativity: Taking classes like 3D Modeling and learning how to build and design mini cars with 3D printers was not only the nerdiest, coolest thing ever, but it helped me to step out of my comfort zone and learn that creativity and business go hand in hand - Entrepreneurial Success: The Robotics coaches trained me up to have confidence in the "real world" when searching for jobs, learning how to fundraise, start companies, and network - Internationally Minded: Through multiple mission trips, I learned how to travel the world while keeping in mind that each culture is unique, and there is always something to learn about compassion and helping those around us. read more

During that transition I was apprehensive and fearful that they would no longer receive the level of attention and obviously, education as what we were accustomed to. That wasn't the case at all. My son has been w Rancho Christian now for going on 5 years. What an amazing experience. Smaller classroom sizes, the Robotics program, the Football program, all of it. He's involved and feels seen. He loves his teachers. all the administrators know the kids. Like actually know them. I get emails and updates daily about grades, events, all things going on i'm in the know. My daughter is off to UCSC full ride. She was prepared for college and got multiple offers, and full scholarships to 3 of the 4 schools she applied too. I attribute a lot of her accomplishments to the time she spent here. I interviewed all of the private schools in the area. A couple have beautiful campuses etc, however when I met the administrators here that won me over. When you speak w the kids here, you see the difference. So grateful we chose Rancho Christian. read more

Best Pre-School I took my toddler to. Ms.Stacey and all the teachers were so amazing to my son. They helped so much with potty training. My son loved coming this school!!! They actually showed us and sent him weekly with all the work he would get done during the week. So it wasn't like they just baby sat him. He actually did activities and they sent emails on the daily basis. I tried other schools for him and this one was the best. I highly recommend it. When you drop your kids off you need to go through the office which I love because it ensures your child's safety, it's a great set up, very secured school. Wow. It's a shame I can't write anything better then what I'm about to say. We were there for 2.5 years. My child started there in preschool. Although the first preschool teacher and I butted heads, she gave an amazing experience to my baby. The second year in preschool, the teacher was amazing. Ms Nichole cares so deeply about the kids and really works hard at prepping them for kindergarten. Let's enter elementary campus. Where kindergarten is a part of. Ms Wright was her teacher and was so amazing in every way. My baby blossomed last year because of her guidance and love. I was "all in" with RANCHO as demonstrated by my fundraising efforts and over 250 volunteer hours at the school. I loved that school. I heard about some bullying going on with faculty kids in some older grades that got swept under the rug once Mr. treadway got involved. But to be honest it shouldn't have come to that. I always paid my tuition by February, for the following year, and in full. I was committed. Then enters a new principle that no one has any clue where she came from. She hasn't held a position for longer then 15 months. What's her background? What's her story? I went to the meet and greet. They were expecting many more people to show up. It was embarrassing when 10 parents showed up. I was one of the 10. But let's move past that. I was still committed to Rancho. I heard all the rumors. I observed the shit talking. But then late one night, a rumor got to me that couldn't be ignored. The principle wants to have a combined recess with all of elementary? Wtf?! How dumb is she? I don't want my 1st grade girl on a playground that is severely understaffed and mismanaged with a 6th grade boy. What is she thinking?!? But let's back track a minute. Last year they had an elementary principle and director of the campus. Now both positions are being filled by Mrs Boucher? They also had a health clerk and an admin assistant. Now both of those positions are being filled by one person....which happens to be the same person that slammed my daughters face in the gate the 2nd day of school last year. ‍ but whose keeping score. Moving on. It sounds like Rancho Christian school is hurting. Hurting bad. They have lost about 15% of their student body. If that doesn't tell you something, you just aren't paying attention. Let's get back on topic. We heard this stupid rumor that the principle thinks it's a great idea to "unify the student body" at recess. I have it in writing from her that this was her plan. Of course it took me 4 days to return an email after emailing several others in an attempt to confirm this. So I fill out withdrawal paperwork from the school as we have decided to move. At the top of the form, there is a blank space for a withdrawal date. Mid form there's a disclaimer that Rancho could keep 1 semester of tuition. I did not fill that date out. I put a sticky note on that form that clearly said, date will depend on your that action. Someone at the front office, took off that sticky note and forged a date that was prior to the start of school. Now here is where it gets better, as if that was possible. But just wait for it. Mr Treadway texts my husband, saying he would like to meet. So my hubby rearranged his afternoon to go ahead and meet with him. Mr treadway has no desire to make his school a better place. His only desire is to make money. He doesn't care about the kids well being and safety. He wants to build a bigger house. (Perhaps with a walk around it ) he told my husband that he talked to Boucher if anyone else came forward expressing concern. She flat out, hand to the Bible, lied to him and said NO. are you kidding me? I know for a fact someone else came forward, because I watched her kids across the street for breakfast at Toast. So ok, it's cool. Your principle is a liar and a flake. So after an emergency board meeting, they decided to un-enroll my child and keep the first semester money. How very incredibly Christian of them. He wanted to talk about being an Elite School. Clearly his definition of elite and mine are two different things. But hey, he did offer my kid special treatment and extra security at school. So that obviously must be needed if they have a known problem. Mr Treadway, if you are reading this, I hope you know wish no ill will on you. Or your school. Just give me my money back and I will walk away and be quiet. read more

It breaks my heart to see the changes at Rancho "Christian" School over the past couple of years. They have changed what they teach about the Bible. Seeing that, the best teachers left, not comfortable with the dramatic shift. The pastor in charge now believes there is no hell and sin makes people feel bad so we shouldn't talk about it. So then, what is the point of salvation? He undermines the whole Bible with his new progressive teachings. If you are considering this school, dig in, don't take the pretty, fluffy answers as fact. My children attended Rancho for years and last year we saw the shift, though they tried to hide it from parents. Update: We unenrolled our children more than a month before the school year started. But we had already paid tuition for the next school year before we found out what was really being taught to the students. We requested a refund of the tuition- as Rancho still had more than a month to fill our children's now vacant seats. We were told the school board would read our request for the tuition refund and consider returning our money. For our family, $10,000 is a lot of money. We worked really hard for that money all through the pandemic. We were told our refund request was denied. But the reason for denial did not even match what we wrote in our request for the refund. It was like our family did not even matter, we were just dollar signs to them. How is this Christlike? We asked for our refund request to be reviewed again. We were told (in writing) that the school board would look it over again. Then we were told the school board again denied the request. When I asked for minutes of the school board meetings where my finances were discussed they finally fessed up and admitted my refund was NEVER discussed by the school board at a meeting! Although they refuse to return our $10,000- I REFUSE to let them further damage my children. Even if I cannot ever get my $10,000 back, my children will still not attend this school. read more

We are a new family coming from an excellent private school in San Marcos , Ca. We relocated in the Escondido/Valley Center area and couldn't be happier with Rancho for our daughter. The school offers a great blend of Christian values, academics, sports and other activities. I believe the school is the perfect size to offer diversity, activities and a true school spirit and culture. The President and the Vice Principal are on top and respond any communication in a timely manner. My family moved to Temecula a year ago with three kids and no idea where to sign them up for school. We knew we wanted a Christian education, top notch with a loving, encouraging culture that challenges them to do better everyday. With Rancho, that's exactly what we have. Our kids are in Grades 1,3 and 6 so we know the school. The teachers are top notch, equal parts encouraging and challenging. Rancho Christian is developing children into young men and women with Christian values and leading academic and athletic opportunities. We also love that it's a K-12 program. Education is big in our house and we expect the best in return. We looked at all Christian schools in Temecula and Murrieta and while there are some good ones, Rancho is the best. Security is tight. The staff go all out to care for the children and keep the parents informed. They are technically advanced with robotics classes, arts, sciences, mathematics... RenWeb keeps parents connected to their kids' performance 24/7. (Gone are the days when we could tell our parents "everything is great, mom!" ...and then dread report card day ;) And the athletic programs are awesome - Football team just won STATE Championships against schools 2 and 3 times our size. You'd be doing a disservice if you didn't at least check out Rancho Christian and see if it's right for you. WE LOVE IT! read more

I wish I could give 10 stars. My daughter just started here 2 weeks ago coming from public school. Her story is a bit of a long one but I'll try to keep it short and sweet. Like most parents we tried distance learning once schools closed due to Covid from April when she was just finishing kindergarten. She started first grade with distance learning. I have been a registered nurse since 2007. In 2018 I was injured in a car accident where I was rear ended coming home from the hospital where I worked. I have not been able to work as a floor nurse since and two surgeries later the doctors have decided I won't be able to anymore. I have been unemployed since. Due to that I never thought Rancho would be an option for my daughter. But God had another plan. My parents said they would help me pay the tuition because they knew it was what was best for my daughter until I could find a way to pay it myself. I have never seen my daughter so excited about school. Tonight she said she was sad that she has to wait three weeks before she can go back to school! It's almost Christmas. Instead of ruminating over what her gifts will be, she's lamenting over not being able to go back to school Monday! What a blessing this school is. My son currently is enrolled in this schools full-time program. And so far so good! Much better than our experience at Kindercare. Well at least my son is much happier here than at Kindercare. One thing that kind of bothers me is the fact that there can be over 15 preschoolers in class on any given day of the week. That is why they have a teacher's aide, but my son's other preschool had a teacher and an aide and only had a max of 12 in the class. I was a bit overwhelmed that first day of school. But my son wasn't too phased by it. And since my son is full-time he is in the same class as some kids who are MWF and the TTh kids. I guess he gets to meet more kids that way. I thought they'd have a strictly full-time teacher, and some teachers that do the part time kids. So, that was slightly disappointing. Although I can see financially how that might not work for them. But shoot it's not exactly a bargain to send him here. Anyways on to happier notes. All the teachers seem great. They all seem to genuinely love to be there and be around kids. My son feels very comfortable here with all his teachers. When I drop him off he is in the morning daycare class, then his teacher picks him up at around 8:20. Then at lunch time, his naproom teacher will gather the full-time students for lunch, outside playtime, and then naptime. Then at 4:00 he stays in the playground until 5:00 then he is back in the daycare room. He has three different rooms he goes to throughout the day, but each room has the same teacher in it, so that consistency helped him feel a bit more comfortable. I know, my poor kid is there a big chunk of the day. Trust me, I've cried myself to sleep thinking about this. But at least I know that he's happy. When he went to Kindercare he'd be crying at screaming before going to school. I'd have to literally drag him out of the car. I was really crying myself to sleep then! But now he asks to go to school. That is such a relief. He absolutely loves his naptime teacher. I think he feels a close bond to her, which I think is so wonderful. He usually is very quiet and reserved, and doesn't greet people, but when I pick him up he always makes sure he tells his naptime teacher bye. I love that they teach about God and have chapel every week. So far we've been happy here. I'll update once the year ends. read more

Providing your child hasn't experienced a Police parent dying while on duty, this seems to be a great Christian school. Once the principal finds out your background that all changes. I've never heard an adult tell a 14 year old "Your Dad died 4 years ago and it's time for you to get over it already". I was stunned and am glad we left the school. He assured me the school didn't want to keep my money and yet I'm still waiting my refund. The teachers do not all have college degrees (Band Director). Not a first responder friendly school. Don't let them know if your son likes to play paint ball or air soft. read more

The teachers are passionate about teaching their students about God, life, academics, etc. Both of my boys are in the preschool program and they love the teachers and school overall. My son has been in the Preschool program for a year and a half.  We could not be more happy with the experience!  The school is clean, friendly, and secure.  All the teachers he's encountered have been great, and he absolutely Loves and really looks forward to going to school!  As a parent, I could not want more.  The preschool office has been great - they totally worked with me when I needed to change his schedule midyear.  We will definitely be sending our two younger children to preschool here as well. read more

We can't say enough great things about Rancho Christian Preschool. Our son started here in the Little Tot's class and is now in Pre-K. Everyone here at Rancho Christian Preschool has helped my son to have an incredible experience. From the front office, to the lead teachers, to the teacher's aides, and everyone in-between has become part of our family. My son absolutely loves coming to school, and truly loves his time spent at Rancho Christian Preschool because of the amazing people who work here. This school has instilled the love of God into my son's heart, and has also prepared him to transition into Kindergarten. We are so grateful and beyond blessed to have our son attend Rancho Christian Preschool, and we are looking forward to our daughter having a wonderful experience there as well. read more

I am moved and encouraged by the teachers and their passion for the students, both spiritually and academically. Great things are happening at this school! The direction of the leadership is exciting. Across the board they are striving to make each area the best there is to offer. So much individual care goes into the families who are seeking what is best for their children. Parenting is not easy! I find hope and comfort knowing I can call on the teachers and leadership to partner with us in helping our kids as they navigate through this stage of life. If your looking for a "Christian environment", dont bother looking for it here. Its very very clique-ish, and bullying is on the menu daily, that includes faculty as well as the student body. We came in the 4th grade and promptly left once the school year was over. Its a nice campus for the most part and some of the teachers are very kind and very good, but its daily drama, ESPECIALLY WITH OFFICE AND PRINCIPAL STAFF. In fact, we left Rancho Christian Church because of it. We were told, "Just because we are a Christian school doesnt mean there is Christian behavior. We accept children from all walks of life". Really?? No thanks! Bullying is a very serious problem at this school with staff in DENIAL. Take your children elsewhere...your welcome. read more
