It was without a doubt the absolute BEST choc orange ice cream I have ever had. The chocolate was not too dark and not too sweet, and the orange had a depth of flavour that complimented the choc perfectly. The waffle cone was delightfully crisp. A few nights later, our last night in Sydney, my son and I were finishing up dinner and looking for a treat. We remembered Freo and headed over. It was a Friday night around 9p, and when we got there the line was stretching out the door. We decided to wait. The anticipation built as we got inside, continued to make our way to the frozen yogurt and then to the counter with all of the toppings. In addition to a lot of the usual toppings, they had whole lychee, which was a wonderful surprise. We loaded up and found a seat outside. The yogurt was amazing - the perfect creamy texture with a wonderful tart flavor. It's the closest thing I've had to Yogorino in all these years, and a wonderful treat to end our adventures in Australia.

Why not just have it all by ordering the 'Rainbow' a mountain of ice-creamy goodness. Literally. With so many different flavours stacked on top of each other, smothered with chocolate sauce, this baby is enough to feed you and five people. And if you're still not satisfied, the guys at the French Riviera have also got their whopping 'Maxi Rainbow' which is made to serve at least eight. Don't let the area scare you - yes, there are a few backpacker hostels and you probably don't want to be in the area late unless you are out for a night in King's Cross. You can walk by and not know how good the place is but at least you can sit down outside, or carry your gelato back up to the main strip on Darlinghurst Road and walk around and watch the crowd. At TB Gelato, they make their own gelato and it is like you are in some family run gelateria in Italy. The vanilla and the banana gelato flavours are excellent but there is one flavour I have not had anywhere else that will blow you away: Cherry Chocolate Liqueur. They don't make it all the time but when they do it disappears quickly. If you are scared of the area get a takeaway tub but it is too good to miss.
