Just returned from sailing on the Disney Destiny, and WOW! what an incredible ship! I've cruised more than 20 times on several cruise lines, and this ship is truly something special. First, the cabins are beautiful and incredibly well designed. Two bathrooms! If you've cruised before, you know what a game changer that is. The ship itself feels like a floating work of art gorgeous artwork everywhere and stunning marble details. You can really tell artisans put their heart into building this masterpiece. It even smells amazing throughout the ship, which sounds funny to say, but it's true! The entertainment absolutely blew us away. Hercules and Tales of the Lion King were the big WOW moments. Broadway-level performances with incredible singers, dancers, costumes, and staging. Honestly, the talent onboard rivals what you'd see in a major theater. And the crew? The best room stewards and wait staff I've experienced in all my cruises. They were warm, attentive, and made everything feel effortless. There's so much to do every day: * Tons of character interactions * A super fun water roller coaster * Fantastic live music and performances all around the ship * Delicious food (the barbecue was A+) * Fireworks at sea * And the ship's horn plays Disney songs... which made us all stop and smile the first time we heard it! If I had to mention a couple small downsides, there are a LOT of bars (maybe more than necessary), and surprisingly only one small jacuzzi for such a large ship. But those are tiny things compared to how magical the experience was. The Disney Destiny is truly a stunning ship filled with joy, artistry, and unforgettable entertainment. I sailed on the Disney Wish July 10th-July 13th, 2022 out of Orlando. This was the sailing right before the public sailed on her for the first time. This ship was beautiful. It was a lot of fun even if you are not a kid. We sailed in a balcony cabin. It was very roomy and the balcony was pretty big compared to other mainstream cruise lines balcony cabins. Food at the Marvel Restaurant was ok. 1923 had terrific service and the food was good. Arendelle had an interactive and fun show and the food was really delicious. The steak there was the best I have had at sea. On Disney, dining is a bit different. Your server follows you to the different dining venues. There are three restaurants and everyone dines at each restaurant one time for dinner. Each restaurant has a show. The shows are really great. No buffet for dinner, only main dining room or a little pool side take away spot. To sail on Disney Wish is a bundle compared to most other cruise lines. They actually have a $5,000 drink which is just silly in my opinion. And I like to drink! Anyway, what they do have is a precious little beauty salon for the little girls. I don't know what that costs but if I had a daughter, I would have splurged on that. I looked at the hair the stylists did on the girls, the makeup and the outfits. That looked like it is a memory those children would remember for life. Looks like it is actually worth it, although the final tab could be scary lol The shows we saw were so great. I am not the biggest Disney fan, but I do think anyone would enjoy these shows. The water rides were the best I have seen at sea. They were exciting and unique. I have to say that as an adult, I absolutely had the best time on this cruise and I usually don't care for cruises. Getting on was extremely easy and the staff was very helpful for me and my family. Our room had a deck that we could out on the lounge chairs and watch the ocean go by. There were PLENTY of things to do for adults as there were bars and louges scattered around for our enjoyment and food stations that you can get what your heart desires. There were 2 stops in the Bahamas and the first stop was a little chilly as the wind made it a little difficult but the next day was much better as we made our way down to the beach to enjoy the sun. There were characters throughout the day for all the kids to see and meet and not to mention that the breakfast was pretty awesome and you can enjoy everything you want including an omelet station. If you want to waste your money and time! The staff was subpar and the ship itself was very overcrowded! They are trying to maximise each dollar by cramming every one on a ship with 45 and 30 minute lines for a water slide. Private beach that is sooo crowded we couldn't even find a lounge chair. Our kids got hand mouth and foot! One of the crew members made our four year old cry! This will be the last disney thing I waste my time and money on. read more

Went on the Disney Dream to the Bahamas with my Disney loving 3 year old son and had a blast. Things he loved: -unlimited soft serve -our food service staff that would sword fight with butter knives and shake their butts with him -the nightly live shows -the sport simulation (even though he was def too little to be good at anything except the carnival games) Things we would do differently: -we would not schedule excursions. We would have saved almost $600 -We wouldn't have done the pirate makeover (paid $60 just for the backpack and sword- he would not get his face painted so we were in and out in less than 3 minutes) - We would carry on our own alcohol and water bottles to save some money read more

We went with our 8 and 9 year old to the Bahamas and we all loved it! There is something for everyone. Things we particularly enjoyed as we went on a cruise for the first time(or one adult it had been more than 10 years): -Very clean! It was encouraged to wash hands before entering any dining area(either by pointing out the station or handing out wipes) -Very steady, other than a few very brief moments, other than looking out the window I almost forgot I was on a ship! -Food- many options at the buffets and the dining also had great food! I was curious about the "adult only dining" but it was an extra cost and I thought the regular dining at the restaurants were great! -Service- Disney is a pricier cruise but the service was beyond amazing. -Castaway Cay- our family's favorite! Shows and entertainment were great as well. The kids still talk about the kids clubs and the scavenger hunt. The character interaction is top notch. The only thing we noticed and turned out as a pro was the wifi really only worked with the Disney cruise app and whatsapp. It was a blessing in disguise as it forced us to just enjoy what's on the cruise(which was plenty!) For first timers if character meet and greet is a high for your kiddos I'd suggest looking up when you can start booking events early and book the Royal Gathering. There isn't an extra cost and can meet 4 princesses but it books fast! It was a little difficult mapping out which character to see individually and usually there was a wait or a cutoff. read more

If you do not meet this second criteria, but you love Mickey Mouse and company, stick with the theme parks on land. We just went on our first Disney cruise on dream and it was epic!!!! We loved every second of it! I wish we would've booked a long cruise because 5 days went by way too fast! There's lots of characters always walking around! Also the staterooms were pretty spacey for what it is. The food was perfect for my kids since they're picky and there's always a meat and veggies selection for them! We went to Bahamas which was kinda loud and crazy and the two Disney islands which were nice white sand beaches. But honestly I loved the ship most theres always a show daily that is broadway quality or a newly released Disney movie! We got to see Moana 2 and mufasa and both were so good! They also have a nice kids club that you can drop off your kids at or a nursery for younger kids! Must try it your family likes Disney !! read more

You pay the Disney premium just like the parks in Orlando. The staff are well versed and the ship SOPs are solid. The suck part is their rally stations for emergencies aren't async for the safety briefing so everything takes forever at the beginning. Portions given are a bit small but they're very nice and professional. Not sure how I feel about out $3200 ish for 3 days. The whole process out of the FLL security port is efficient. Maybe the best thing about our trip aboard the Dream as an older ship was a better price point than newer ships and a higher quality of families compare to other lines. Drinks for non alcoholic are all included for families. Buffet hours are meh. For some kids this is more for the parents. Their broadway style shows are a solid mix of nostalgia and unique imagineer technique parents and kids can appreciate. I wouldn't take your kids if they don't care about any of the characters or flicks. read more

Along with our daughter and granddaughter, Diane and I just completed our first cruise aboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel. In our case it was the Disney Wonder sailing from San Diego to Ensenada, Mexico. The cruise itself had some bumps along the way that were not the fault of the cruise line, beginning with a deluge of rain as we waited outdoors in a reserved parking area with our luggage for a shuttle to the ship. Then we had to miss the first scheduled port of Catalina Island because the storm created surging waves that blocked contracted tenders from timely leaving California to take passengers off the ship. But, as a result, we got to spend an extra day at sea. Diane and I went into the Rainforest Room of the Senses Spa where I was able to recline on a heated ceramic lounger, enter a warm steam room and a hot steam room, and experience a warm Tropical Shower, hot Thunder Shower, and a Cold Fog Shower. And I spent some time inside the wood sauna located in the spa's Men's Dressing Room. The heated ceramic lounger was the best type I have encountered in 32 cruises, largely because each lounger had a leather cushion for the head and neck to rest on. Later, Diane and I had facials in the spa's salon while I also enjoyed a shave from a master female barber from India, Stage entertainment was superb, with several Disney films brought to life, and singing and dancing cast members who were of Broadway caliber. And it was fun to watch a parade of Disney characters dance and interact with passengers. The dancing on deck on Pirates Night was so well synchronized that it was clear that much practice had been engaged in by characters and the energetic leaders of the festivities. Then, seeing Mickey Mouse sail through the air from a ship's funnel amid bubbles and bursting pods of Fireworks at Sea was an added bonus. An additional unexpected treat while standing on our stateroom verandah one day at sea around dusk was seeing and filming rockets carrying satellites being launched into space by Space X. Diane and I were somewhat disappointed with many of the food offerings we ate--especially lunch items that featured a Philly Steak Sandwich with a half-melted slice of American Cheese, some shredded beef, and a small hoagie roll; and a non-beef skinny Hot Dog on a plain bun. Portions outside the Cabanas buffet tended to be small. But a Cheeseburger was good, and I enjoyed first-rate Prime Rib, excellent fresh Beignets dipped in an Espresso Chocolate Sauce, and White Bread Pudding at Tiana's Place on the last night of the cruise. Also, dinner at Palo the first night of the cruise, where I had a large Shrimp Fritti appetizer and deboned Dover Sole, was outstanding. This was a specialty extra-charge restaurant, but the romantic ambiance, superb service, and higher grade food were well worth the extra expense of about $169. It would have been $100 if we went with the price fixe menu, but I wanted to have a five-course meal of my own choosing from the expansive menu. You only live once, so why not make the best use of that time?! Service everywhere on the ship was outstanding. Doors were opened for me, and my plate taken to a table on Deck 9 prepared by a crew member. I liked the freshly popped popcorn available ourside the Walt Disney Theatre, and enjoyed the movie "Wish" and other productions with popcorn in hand. Attending a session of Silent Dancing was fun where colorful headphones were distributed, and guests of all ages listened and reacted to a choice of three channels of rock and pop music. The headphones blocked out all other sound. My small family group posed for professional photographs with Mickey Mouse in a sea captain's uniform, and we had a very good and fun time overall. If I sail on another Disney cruise I intend to take advantage of some offered activities I did not participate in on this voyage, like learning to draw particular Disney characters, and trying one's hand at it. read more

Amazing! This was my first Disney Cruise on the Disney Dream for a 4 night voyage to Nassau and Castaway Cay. In preparation for the cruise (and to increase the hype going into it) we watched a ton of YouTube videos of the Disney Dream with our kids. And yet we were STILL surprised (and very impressed) by so much of what the ship offered. I loved how there were 3 different dining experiences included in the normal dining experiences (in addition to the impressive buffet on deck 11)! Animators Palate was my favorite and we were able to dine there twice. The quality of the evening shows were my favorite part! We went for a large family reunion and one thing I wanted to share: for the kids club, even though it is open for ages 3-10, if your child is 3-4 they will be in a special group of younger kids with a Disney cast member and will not be able to to freely play with other, older kids. This was frustrating because my son was 4 and all his siblings and cousins were 6-10 and he wasn't able to go off with them. This made him dislike the kids club. If I'd known about this I would have booked the trip for just one week later when he turned 5. I even showed the staff his birthday and they said there was nothing they could do about it. There is an app with daily activities Super hard working staff to ensure the magic to happen! From entertainment to food services and medical and kids zone area. Rooms are nice we had a verandah and I would highly recommend a balcony if it is in your budget. Cons Food reserving timing absolutely did not work for us to have late dining; we ended up doing room service most of the time. There are things that you can do but within extra charge Only one deck has the beverage stations... Food option at the late dining is only fried food. No veggies available... Breakfast is not great with only one cheese option and you have to ask the team member to serve it... I would do it again but definitely be mindful of that your budget is a start and within that it will keep going up... read more

Have traveled on the Fantasy before which was a great trip in 2019. This review is for the Destiny. A nice ship which was clean and had efficient service. Disney entertainment is always great. The not so good? Food was a disappointment in their restaurants. Food portions were small and uninspiring. Our servers were not as friendly as tjose at other tables. The ship was too crowded with lack of seating on outside decks on sea day. People 'reserved ' their deck chairs and disappeared for the day. No attempt to say if unoccupied for more than x hours it would be available to others. Maybe it's too big a ship compared to the Fantasy. Still had a good time, but there is room for improvement. I also don't appreciate that wifi internet is not included in the cost of the cruise. A lot of Nicole and dining. Disney, don't be Carnival. Consider all inclusive packages like Regent. read more

We went on the Disney Magic. I have always wanted to go to Castway Cay but the only way to get there is a Disney Cruise. I was really looking forward to doing the glassbottom boat in Castway cay. Makes sure to look at the adventures before you get on the ship. You will have NOOOOO phone service, internet (unless you wanna pay $128 per device), no text messaging, no data no nothing. I have ATT and they wanted me to pay $160 per phone for the week just to have service, I said thats freakin outrageous. So make sure you download some movies and games to your phone. I say this because they ship does have a lot of events, but if the weather is crap, things get canceled. This happened to us. I will mention later. For those who don't know their direction, an easy way to remember is PORT if 4 letters, LEFT is 4 letters, so thats how you can remember. Make sure you go to the buffet on the first day because that is when they have fresh seafood. Make sure you bring a empty water bottle or a few because the cups they have for drinks are tiny. Pinochios Pizza wasn't all that great, but open until late and you can get food at any time. Daisy's has fruit. Donald Duck has burgers, fries and chicken fingers. Just around the corner is a endless soft-serve. They have different flavors each day. But some parents need to watch their kids because they waste so much. On level 9 there is 3 pools. One for small kids, one family pool and in the front of the ship is adults only and has 2 spas. There is also a spa for extra fees. There is constantly events and shows going on at different parts of the ship. I think its pretty cool that each night they have movies at the family pool. But if the weather is bad, it will get canceled. We went to watch "Up" but the chairs were literally getting thrown across the whole deck, so they had to close it. One of the nights, the whole 9th floor was shut down because of inclement weather, we were rocking pretty bad. If you plan on going to a show make sure you show up at least 30 minutes prior because the night that level 9 was shut down, we went 45 minutes early to go to a show and already 300 people were in line. The food... wow. I was soooo shocked that the food was freaking amazing at the restaurants. You can order whatever you wasn't and however many as you want. If you want 2 dinners, 3 desserts, go for it. Just be aware that things that are not included in the amount you pay is the coffee shop, any alcohol or speciality drinks, candy/popcorn at the theater, etc. They automatically add 18% gratuity to literally anything that you purchase anywhere on the ship. I recommend that you purchase the disney band BEFORE getting on the ship because prior to getting on the ship the price starts at $15. On the ship they cost $45. But if you go anywhere on the ship you just tap your band. I also recommend to prepay the gratuity when you pay for your trip. But Disney is shady as hell with employing people. They do NOT pya. base pay to employees. I understand they get free room and board, but they do not pay their employees. The employees make whatever they are tipped. So my mom prepaid gratuity. So the main waiter and the stateroom cleaner (comes in 2 times a day) got $71, the second waiter only got $50, and another person who literally does nothing gets $20. I made it an even $100 for both waiters and the room cleaner and made it $50 for the person who does nothing because what crap is that that we give them $5/hour, thats outrageous. I would think that is illegal. But they hire people from around the world which I guess Disney gives them an opportunity that they don't have in their home country, but still, thats bullshit because they do everything on the ship and also in ports they are still the people who run the food places. One of our waiters is from Jamaica and she said that one time she had a family of 9, they were black and said she was racist so they gave her $0. That made me so mad, alllll the work that she does to get paid $0, thats outrageous. The room cleaner puts envelopes for each person so make sure you hand the waiters etc the envelope with their money directly so you know they get it. The basic staterooms are TINY. I recommend bringing a splitter charger because there only is a couple plugs to charge devices. The toilet is in a seperate tiny spot than the shower. If you are a bigger person... good luck fitting in the tiny area to go potty. There was a bunk part of a bed and the couch folded into a bed, but I didnt get much sleep because there was a spring in the middle of my back. Overall I liked that there was always something to do, we did a Xrail port adventure in Cozumel which was really fun. I was really disappointed that all excursions in Castway Cay were canceled due to the weather. But Disney needs to work on taking care of their employees better. read more

Just returned from a 5 day, 4 night disney cruise with my family. My parents, husband, and 3 year old all had an incredible time! The embarkation process was seamless and quick. Once we were on board the Disney Dream we headed to Cabanas for a buffet lunch and then straight to our room. The DCL app was a great resource during our trip and allowed us to stay on top of cruise events. Our first night, while dining in Animators Palatte, we sailed thru some really rough seas which left me, my father, and toddler absolutely sea sick. Before our entrees arrived, my little one got sick right at the table. The staff at DCL were absolutely incredible. They cleaned the area thoroughly and sent us to our room with fresh meals - tho none of us had the appetite with the rough seas. We were frequently checked on by staff; they sent gingerale to our room and even continued to check in on us the next day. The level if attention our wait staff provided was top notch. I loved how they knew our names and even cut up our daughters food/helped to feed her while we enjoyed our meals. The entertainment was phenomenal and the experience was exceptional. We cannot wait to book our next cruise! read more

I was on the Disney Dream Cruise for 3 days. From the moment we pulled up with my disabled mother, no help or wheelchair that we requested could be found. My sister had to go hunt for one. No one helped us push her either. Men stood and watched. We got on the ship and the welcome was nice but we were not given access to water for 3 hours. There was none as you walked in or in our rooms. Finally I had to ask someone where the water was and they said Deck 11. Unacceptable! The shows were the best part especially Beauty and The Beast. The food was terrible and covered in seed oil. I tried to rent a cabana at the private beach 3 months ago and it said SOLD OUT. On the beach, I made sure to see where they were and it was closed. They were not even an option. I believe Disney is short staffed and just said they were sold out just to keep it closed! Ship is very dirty and old. I have pictures if you want to see them. All meals even when scheduled involve lines. Lines everywhere and no real organization. Then you wait in line at breakfast and they try to seat you right next to another family with tons of tables available. We requested another table and had to wait to see the "manager". It was ridiculous. My Mom bought the wifi and it didn't work. She is disabled and they made her go to the help desk instead of coming to her. My sister had to intervene. This was an issue that could have been fixed over the phone. The Private Island is not very private! It was very busy. Could not take our Mom. It was too hard and far for a disabled person. Loading tram was a fight and we were told after boarding to not get in the last 2 rows. There were no signs anywhere saying that. Flies all over the food. No water on beach. No complimentary sunscreen. Had to walk far on the beach to find a chair. Get ready for upcharging. Everywhere you go, even a cappacino at breakfast, is an upcharge. It was not a classy relaxing vacation. Disney is cutting too many corners and it shows. read more

Went on the Disney Dream to the Caribbean out of Miami and we had a great time. The kids enjoyed Disney more than Royal Caribbean as the daycare areas were more fun, granted there's a lot of video games going on. We made frequent visits to 9-hole minigolf and foosball on the outdoor top level, the AquaDuck, and of course the free soft serve ice cream machines. Food was ok and actually better on Royal Caribbean on the Oasis class. Disney does has more variety in the food and dining atmospheres. Servers were friendly and fun, great for families. The layout of our balcony room was also better than Royal Caribbean with split bathroom (one room has sink plus shower; one room has sink plus toilet) which makes things more efficient in getting ready to go out. Really enjoyed the Broadway quality shows (Beauty and the Beast was the best, Believe was good) and a nice plus to watch the latest Thor movie (Love and Thunder) for free. We flew to FLL airport and was very convenient to get a minivan taxi down to our Miami Marriott hotel 1 or 2 days before departure. Upon disembarkation, also took a minivan taxi to Ft Lauderdale from Miami cruise port. We didn't pay extra for any food and drink - the included food and drinks were perfectly good enough and lots of variety between the buffet, fast food area, and the main restaurants. We only left the boat for the private island (Castaway Cay) and had a lot of fun there without need to pay for anything extra. Plenty of beach, a few waterslides, and foosball/pingpong/basketball shooting area. Free bbq buffet with soft serve ice cream as well. Disney cruises can be 50%+ more expensive than Royal Caribbean so it's important to go during nonpeak periods if possible. Plus the experience is better during nonpeak with less lines for everything. We went during lull in travel due to Covid so Disney was offering some discounts in certain places. read more

I won a Disney cruise for 4 on the Disney Magic through a local radio station. I debated making it a family trip but my kids are very young (1 and 3). Instead I decided to take a trip with 3 girlfriends. We're all in our mid 30s and we had a blast. The theme was Halloween on the High Seas, and they had a decent amount of Halloween decorations. Although obviously fun for kids, as adults we still had a great time. They had an adults only section of the pool. We tried the 2 waterslides, the hot tub, and a couple of my friends did massages in the spa. The service was top notch. The food was excellent and my favorite restaurant was Animator's Palate. The buffet food was good too. We watched all 3 shows on the cruise, but my absolute favorite was Disney Dreams where they combined songs from all of our favorite Disney movies. We stopped at Disney Castaway Cay, which was a pretty impressive island compared to other cruise lines' private Islands. I recommend doing the Stingray excursion. We had an amazing second cruise on Disney cruise line on the Dream from Miami. In true Disney cruise line fashion we were treated like royalty throughout our 4 night stay. Every cast member was courteous, friendly, and helpful. In particular, our stateroom host Mercedes from Honduras, and our dining room team: Shaan from India and Cathyrine from the Philippines were incredible and made sure we had everything we needed and more. On embarkation day after boarding the ship we quickly completed our muster drill and then headed to Animator's palate for a sit down lunch. We both chose the beef empanada to start. It was warm and crispy on the outside and paired well with the pico de Gallo. My partner greatly enjoyed the shrimp and chicken gumbo and the muffuletta. My salmon salad was so fresh and light and the perfect first meal on the ship. After lunch we were able to be seen quickly at guest services to apply some gift cards to our stateroom balance. We also stopped by Enchanted Garden to confirm our dining since we had requested to be seated with just our party and were happy to hear our request had been granted. By 1:30pm our stateroom on the 7th floor, midship with verandah was available. Our stateroom was very comfortable! The bed was the right combination of soft and firm. I love that you get turndown service twice a day! Mercedes made us beautiful towel animals and made sure everything was clean and organized in our room. The shower had excellent strong water pressure and it was so convenient to have a split shower and toilet and two sinks. We were able to watch on demand Disney movies everyday on the tv! It was so luxurious to wake up and see the sun rising from our personal balcony. We loved ordering complimentary room service for breakfast and snacks. Our favorites from room service were the Buffalo wings, cheeseburger and All Hands on Deck cheese plate. Favorites from the main dining rooms were the prime rib and sea bass from Enchanted Garden, the black truffle pasta pursettes and lemon icebox pie from Animator's palate, the king ora salmon and iced lobster and shrimp from Royal Palace, and the lime marinated shrimp and samosa appetizers , and caramel macadamia nut tart from pirate night. I also had a delicious chicken curry from Royal palace during a sit down lunch. Additionally, we reserved a brunch at Palo for an additional charge. Our server, Venezia, from Colombia made our meal special and we greatly enjoyed the seafood and charcuterie appetizers, the tomato and celery soup, the chicken Parmesan with risotto, and the limoncello torte and chocolate molten cake for dessert. Palo was very elegant and the perfect escape from the crowds. Favorite activities on board were the aqua duck water slide (ride on port days when the line is short), the Art of the Theme walking show, trivia, and animation class. On pirate night we enjoyed a gorgeous fireworks show! We also enjoyed the three Broadway style shows, the Golden Mickeys, Beauty and the Beast, and Believe. The costumes and sets were beautiful, and the singing and dancing were very entertaining. My partner also reserved two alcohol tastings (tequila and margaritas, and mojitos and caipirinhas) as well as a haircut in the barber shop and was pleased with his experience. Disney cruise line wants everything to be easy and comfortable and it certainly was! It was so convenient to charge souvenirs and drinks to right to our stateroom. The ship itself was beautifully ornate in the classic Art Deco style and I love that they play Disney music everywhere. There are plenty of spaces to explore and relax. If you have kids or if you are a kid at heart, characters could be found all over the ship and you could find times for meetings, as well as all other cruise activities including movies and shows in the navigator app. Menus were also available in the app and even a chat feature between guests so that my partner and I could stay in touch. We weren't the biggest fans of Nassau as a port, but lived Castaway Cay!!! Serenity beach was the perfect adults only escape and the buffet lunch was fresh and delicious. My favorites were the bbq salmon with pineapple pico de Gallo, and the bbq ribs. The trams were convenient and a great way to get around the island. Back on board, I checked out the Midship Detective Agency game which is an interactive activity for kids where they can solve 1 of three mysteries while exploring the different decks of the ship. My family made some of the best memories on the Disney Magic Cruise. First off Rapunzel is her favorite princess and it was mostly based around her. The pirate night was a great time, everyone on the ship participated which was really cool. The characters change outfits every night depending on the theme. We celebrated the Silver Sea 25th Anniversary and they had fireworks at Sea two different nights. The food was good not great, the attention to detail on everything was fantastic. Castaway Cay and Nassau were great. I loved the cool different things each island offered. The best part about Castaway cay was the photo ops and they have their own Run a 5k with a medal at the end. You didn't need to wait hours to meet characters. The shows on the ship are Broadway level and the people who work there did everything they could to make sure you have the best time. read more

So much stuff for the kids to do it's hard to take it all in. Stopped in Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay (pronounced Key). Awesome options to swim with dolphins and sting rays in Grand Cayman. When on my 4th Disney Cruise with my friends. First time with out the kds and I have to say, it was still Magic-al. From the moment you step onboard, you are transported into a world of magic that only Disney can create. One of the standout features of the Disney Cruise is the exceptional service provided by the friendly and attentive staff. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every one in our party needs were met, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the cruise. It's such a wonderful filling to feel like a cherished member of the Disney family. The ship itself is a floating wonderland with an array of entertainment options for all ages. For us as adults, we indulge in the luxurious spa treatments and enjoy a quiet evening at the various after hours lounges. One of the best things about the Disney Magic is the food. The food was one of the best parts of the trip Some really fancy tasting food. Everyone asking about if they got all you can drink alki. Negative! But the drinks they have are all top shelf and you'll be surprised how cheap prices are. Overall the experience was great I highly highly recommend it for family's and couples. This was our first time on a Disney Cruise, it was only a three day trip with one day at sea and one day on their private island. The ship, The Magic is a very nice ship. I could not believe how many people they have cleaning this ship all the time. It's a small army. There were lots of things for everyone to do. Movies, shows, pools ect, but my favorite thing was the kid's area. It allowed me and wife free time to do adult things together. Our cabin, it's kind of small but very nice with a great view. A lot nicer then the Disney World Resort hotels in Orlando. They seem to be a little neurotic about maintaining how the rooms are kept. They get cleaned at least twice a day. As for the restaurants and the food, they have three main restaurants, a buffet and few small quick serve places by the pool. The quick serve restaurants were nothing to write home about. Not so great pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs and gyros. The buffet place was good for breakfast and lunch, lots of options and the things I ate there were very good. The other three restaurants, Lumiere's, Carioca's and Animators Palate were all very good, but the service was excellent. We had the same servers for all three places (Bojan and Sebastian). Sebastian looked and sounded like Mr Checkov from the recent Star Trek movies. He was great with the kids. He performed magic tricks for them each night and made Mickey and Minnie Mouses out of the condiments. Castaway cay island, since all the water related excursions were cancelled there wasn't much to do other then the beach or a bike. The beach was nice and they had a water slide for the kids. Although the water was too cold for me everyone seemed to be enjoying it. The BBQ on the island was just ok. They had ribs, chicken, fish, hamburgers and hot dogs. I would have rather eaten on the ship. Overall it was a great little cruise, although I would rather do five or seven days. read more

I recently went with the family on a marvel day at sea Disney cruise which departed from Miami and went to the Grand Cayman and Disney's "Castaway Cay" private island. 6 days and 5 nights though the last day we arrived back at 9 am, which doesn't count. The ship was the Disney Magic, which is the oldest of their fleet, though it was recently upgraded. We went while school was in session, which made for a cheaper price. For two adults and two kids in a cabin state room with no window it cost just over $4k. The ship itself was very well maintained and clean though it might have lacked some of the wow factor of the latest and greatest top deck water parks and thrills. Disney Magic had nice memorable dining halls and fantastic kids clubs. The Animator's Palate had lots of big screen tvs on the walls matching the distinct style of the room. Rapunzel's was another great dining experience with live music and where characters from their excellent Rapuzel play greeted guests. Lumiere's was the third nice restaurant aboard the ship. It had its own circa 1950s style which worked. Lunch and breakfast were also available at the premium restaurants though the hours were limited by small windows of time. The other option was burgers, pizza and hotdogs on the top deck. They did have healthy options too such as banana and oranges, salads and hommus. Overall the food outside the big three restaurants was a bit disappointing. Definitely not the unlimited lobster and king crab legs someone had told me disney cruises had. The shows were great and really made the trip. 2 in particular, the Rapunzel show and the Disney Dreams show were big stage quality. Other than the after dinner shows, there was an awesome marvel avengers party with live action fighting, stunts and dancing from the characters. Live fireworks off the top deck also really made things fun. I believe the captain said this is the only cruise ship still able to pull it off. Kids clubs were fantastic too with plenty of activities and events. Like with adults, the main limitation was lack of time, especially with the sit down multi course dinners and after dinner shows. The excursions were also limited by time, having to be back on the boat by 4 pm. Grand Cayman is an excellent destination and we managed to visit the 7 mile beach. By the way the public taxis are much cheaper than the "shuttle services" operating and scamming people once you get on the island. When I tried to purchase duty free and Caribbean only alcohol, multiple liquor stores on the island told me they wouldn't sell hard liquor to me because Disney discourages them. The liquor stores ask to see your cruise boarding pass when you try to purchase. I managed to find one that did though. Castaway cay is a private Disney island in the Bahamas. It had a nice water slide at the beach though the beach was kind of rocky. Also they put barriers to prevent people from swimming too far out or going near the rocks. Good for safety but not for adventurous types. read more

3rd Disney Cruise 1st one was on the Fantasy (best cruise ever!) 2nd was the Wonder (meh...) 3rd was the Magic...almost identical to Wonder + a super cool waterslide Despite my love for the ships or lack thereof...the experience is what really makes Disney Cruises so magical. This cruise in particular was Thanksgiving week and was a Xmas themed cruise...so we celebrated both holidays on the ship.... there was a life sized gingerbread house...yes it was real gingerbread! the aroma wafted through the lobby as we entered the ship. amazing xmas tree adjacent to the gingerbread house. characters came out throughout the week dressed in different outfits (ex: captain mickey, sorcerer mickey, santa mickey etc... I saw goofy in workout clothes, santa clothes. My daughter was excited to see chip and dale doing yoga in the lobby) This one had it's pros and cons... pros... -holiday season -we celebrated multiple holiday's -ports were Castaway Cay and Disneyworld...no lame ports! -food was better than wonder -service was fabulous con's.. -too many little whining kids! i don't remember this on the previous 2 cruises...but those weren't during a school holiday -small ship...not as much fun as the Fantasy... yes of course we will go on another Disney Cruise...but now that I've tried 3/4 ships...i know that i will likely only go on the Fantasy again ..or the Dream (which i haven't tried) or one of the future ships that are soon to arrive! read more

This was our third time on the Disney Wonder and our 4th DCL cruise. We had the crazy idea of driving from Milwaukee since airfare into FLL was so expensive. We rented a car from Budget and made the 28 hour trek with a few stops to eat, down to FLL. We stayed overnight at the Hampton Inn Suites in FLL and then took a shuttle to the POM. The Port of Miami was packed full of people and we didn't have a chance to take pictures at the port with the characters like we normally did. That is fine because there are plenty of character opportunities. The ship itself has a classic feel and is one of the smaller ships. We were on the Dream a few years ago and felt lost. We had boarding number one and were on the ship after the family of the day. We headed up to the buffet and were able to get into our rooms at 1:30PM. I got tickets to the Elsa and Anna and Princess meet and greets first thing on board. These are high demand events and getting a ticket for it means you no longer have to wait in long lines. They still do the character (Mickey, Donald, Minnie...) meets the old way before dinner and that gets hectic. We prefer second seating which is at 8:15PM because we are always busy during the day. We booked the Cozumel Ruins excursion and had a lot of fun. Palo's for adults is not to be missed. I like the pools better on the Wonder too. The only thing I miss is the Aquaduck. I love that your serving team follows you from restaurant to restaurant. We had the best team of Manuel and Nisha. Our head server was Simone who also took great care of us. The industry can't compete with the wonderful customer service DCL gives. The character interactions are well worth the extra cost alone not to mention the rooms are bigger than industry average. The Broadway shows can't be beat either. We got chosen as a VIP family to have a private meeting with the characters. This made my girls' day. We can't wait to go for our 5th cruise! read more

Finally was able to experience the Disney Cruise a month ago and here's my review. Location - At the famous port of Miami, but destinations vary on the length of the cruise and the ship. Parking - Not sure for parking here as we took a taxi here. Staff - Workers outside on the curbside try to hustle you asking for a tip to do there job they get paid to do and load luggage on the boat. I didn't like the fact they ask instead of doing something nice to earn it. Other than that the staff inside at the terminal, on the boat, and at day care did an amazing job with great personality and always happy to help. Ship - Ship is old and on the smaller size and for the price you pay I would expect a newer and bigger ship. Dont take me wrong they do a great job keeping up the condition of ship by maintaining it and keeping it updated for how old it is. Staterooms - Very clean and well maintained compared to some of the other cruise lines I've been on. Price - Overpriced for what you actually get compared to similar other cruises I've been on. For me it was more for my kid to experience it and to finally experience it for myself also. Destination - Castaway Cay was hands down one of the best destinations I've been to ever to date. The adult area has a amazing beach with super clear water and you can walk far out and still be at waist level. Overall it was a nice experience and will probably not do it again and will invest on a larger newer ship with more to offer on the next cruise. read more

I've done 4 cruises with DCL. This was the first Miami to the Caribbean. My last was before Covid. They have really gone downhill. The service was terrible, food quality was awful even at the expensive adult restaurants, and guest services were completely useless. I will never cruise on them again. They are way overpriced for what they deliver. read more

Just came back from a 3-night Very Merry Christmastime cruise out of Miami for Thanksgiving weekend. This was our first Disney cruise, and I'd like to say it won't be our last...but I'm not so sure because they're incredibly pricy. I don't know how people can afford to go on multiple Disney Cruises...one thing I kept thinking about was how much money there is in this world because many, many folks I overheard were saying this was their "nth" one. Crazy! The attention to detail and execution of all activities/meals by Disney is truly a remarkable study in human behavior. The Disney Magic has three main restaurants: Animator's Palate (I love me a good pun), Rapunzel's Royal Table, and Lumiere's. In my experience Rapunzel's was the best, but Lumiere's left me feeling pretty "meh". Drinks were reasonably priced throughout the ship, which was a pleasant surprise. Cleanliness is a top priority on the ship, too. They hand you sanitizing wipes prior to every meal and have handwashing stations at the entrance of the buffet restaurant, Cabanas. Pro-tip: try the butter chicken at cabanas. Castaway Cay was beautiful! The weather was spectacular but it made the water a little too cold- we didn't mind though. Still went swimming! We rented bikes, which was my favorite activity on the island. The kids' clubs are amazing, but my daughter didn't want to be "alone" at the kids' club so we didn't get to have too much adult time on the ship. The nursery was great, though. They were really on top of everything with my son and messaged us to update on how he was doing. All in all, Disney really knows how to make an enjoyable vacation for the entire family. I wish I could afford another one next year, but I think it's gonna be a while before we have the funds to repeat this. Additional tip: Unless you arrive at the port early in the morning, DO NOT PARK THERE. It is crazy crowded. The closest garage with available spots at 1pm was a 25 minute walk from the Disney terminal. I guess the good thing about that was the extra calorie burn for all the food we consumed on the ship! read more

This was a wonderful experience for my family. This was our first cruise, but our 4 visit to a Disney location. We visited castaway cay and Nassau. I recommend getting a cabana at Castaway Cay. Our staff were very attentive, especially Junior and Kemisha. Jojo, our waiter, also deserves a shout-out. Yes Disney is expensive, but you are getting 5-star level customer service. read more

Ok people...this is pre-covid19. We Loved the Disney Magic! We know it's not the biggest or newest ship. But as first time DCL passengers our group of 11 had a blast! We had two families of 4 and one of 3. We booked through Harnal Travel and she took care of our friend's pre-booking for character meet n greets...but because we opted to do our check in, we had to be mindful of pre-booking our special events and kind of missed some of the deadlines. With all that said, we still had a blast! Got to meet all of the characters we wanted to hang with. Lots of QT with them on the cruise and even on Castaway Cay. Several in our party did miss the 5k because you have to make sure the kids have their key to the world pass and give authorization to your friends/family ahead of time. The authorization you give at the kids clubs doesn't count for dis/embarking the ship. They are separate so...yeah...do that so you can leave for the 5k early and your little kids can follow later. It was cold when we went so many of the beaches in Mexico were "closed" for swimming but there was a resort that was open for free...just pay a taxi to take you there and back. Our large group paid a driver to stay with us. You get what you pay for and DCL demonstrates that every day. It's not cheap but it's worth it. Our service staff were fantastic with our family, dietary requirements and requests. If you get to the shows early...you can get a decent seat. But you have to be mindful about the time and your group size. The staff and other passengers frown upon saving seats. We hope to see you real soon...well...after we save up , get the newest shots/treatment for Covid19 & DCL demonstrates their Covid19 policies to require these types of inoculations. Exposing my family to deadly diseases is not something I want to do...so, we are watching and waiting to see how DCL responds and assures the safety of all of their passengers and staff. read more

Sailed on the Disney Magic out of Miami. Parking for the terminal is easy to find and not far from where the ship was docked. Walking with luggage wasn't a problem. (But definitely drop your luggage off with the porters before you park. It will make life easier.) The whole check in process is executed flawlessly by disney. Never really waited in any lines, on other cruises lines it's been crazy, hot and unorganized. The whole staff is friendly and helpful in the terminal, character meet and greets started in the lobby which was great. The Magic is a smaller ship compared to most, but don't let that fool you. It was packed with fun and entertainment. Adult only entertainment, kids clubs, character meet and greets, aquadunk (scared the mess out of me), slides, pools and mixology. Disney is a cruise tailored for children of ages (including adults) with right mixture of fun for everyone. You won't find drunken passed out guest on the pool deck or halls. It's actually not too crowded you can find a lounge chair near the pool any time of day. Hands down the staff is magical. read more

This review is for the 3 day cruise on the Disney Magic out of Miami (Jan 5-8 2016). Check in: in Disney fashion there is always a line. However, the queue went quickly for those of us who pre checked in online. Disney has assigned times for you to choose from and requests that you arrive during that time to avoid lines being crazy. (TIP: If you live in Florida and you are parking your car at the port, pick an early check in time. We chose 1:30pm and parking was terrible. Once you check in, you can get on another line to register your child for the kid's club. Again a very quick process if you pre check in. All you need to do is get the kid's band. They have a red clip they add if your child has any kind of allergy or dietary issue. Once completed you start heading to the ship. They take the first of many photos and you get on board where they announce your arrival. Room: we had a room with a veranda. It added a little living space. The bed was comfortable. There was a separate area with a couch (that converts to a twin size bed). The bathroom had a separate little toilet and sink and a bathroom with a tub/shower and sink. Very claustrophobic, but bigger than it could have been. The room was super clean, comfortable and had adequate space for the 3 of us and our luggage. The safe was a great size. We were able to put quite a bit in there. Kids' club: our daughter loved it! There was so much to do. Each time we dropped her off she came back with an art project and stories of what they did. The team there were all friendly and the check in/check our process is very organized. On the island they also were very organized. The kids & adults had to wash their hands each time they entered. Different characters visited the kids and they had great interaction with them. They were open until midnight, which was awesome. It allowed us to just spend some time exploring the ship, have a drink and not feel like we had to entertain our daughter 24/7. We also felt she was safe. Entertainment: something for everyone. It was hard to do all we wanted to in 3 days. We managed to see Tangled the first night. We all loved it. (TIP: popcorn and any beverages for the show is NOT free). It was a high quality show...one you expect from Disney. Although there was a show each night we were unable to attend all. They did have 2 showings a night coordinated for the dinner seatings. Dining: most breakfast and lunch was done at the buffet restaurant Cabanas. The food was okay. Most of the cooked veggies were cooked in butter, which made it a little harder to eat since I try to avoid dairy. Some things were kept in refrigerated cases and were served to you. Many of the desserts, smoked salmon, deli meats and cheeses. They were more than happy to give multiple servings but it definitely kept food wasting down. Beverages were a little odd. There was a lot at breakfast to choose from, including a kinda hidden omelets station. Dinner: there are 2 seating times. I love that they rotate the restaurants. Each night you dine in a different themed restaurant. Your wait staff travels with you. Our team Bo and Sebastian were awesome. They were amazing with the kids. Anything that needed to be cut (like the chicken) Sebastian did for the kids. He also did magic tricks for the kids, which they loved. They really cared if you liked what you ordered. We started out at Lumiere's. It was my favorite meal. I started with with pear & arugula salad. For an entree, I had the mushroom ravioli in a vegetable broth. I had an apple tart for dessert. Everything (except the coffee) was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Our second night was at Animators' Pallet. It was the most fun. The restaurant is all black and white. You watch the walls as the characters are sketched and some come to life. By the end of the night it is full color. There are some fun surprises at the end as well. I had a sweet potato purse over bok choy. Very good. The dessert was cookie & cream ice cream sundae. The last night was at Carioca's. The restaurant is Brazilian themed. I had the tuna tower (not quite a tower, but tasty) and the Cuban salad (avocado, pineapple, watercress and Cuban toast (really just a plain crouton). I also had a corn tortilla thing which I didn't like. Characters: you need tickets to meet with Elsa & Ana (they do the picture together which is cool since they are separate at Epcot. You also need tickets for the princesses. There are a lot of characters. Everyone from Mickey to Spider-Man. Lines get long. Bibbidi bobbidi boutique: super expensive but Christina was amazing. She was very engaging both nights (pirate night and our daughter's process Birthday). She was the only one who didn't try to sell us more stuff. There is so much more to write, but not enough characters. The reason for 4 stars vs 5, I also felt that someone was trying to sell me something. The 3 days was expensive enough. read more
