All the stylits are SUPERB ARTISTS and I have used several, but I tend to stick with JASON who did my 1st ever highlights, which look amazing!!! JASON bridged my sun-bleached longer lengths together with my crown into a cohesive wholistic palette. Ashley's magic! Owner/stylist Ashley must have a magical hand. Every time I come see her, she takes care of my whole body, not just my hair. This is her original store and I come to either this location or her newest location in Mesa, where ever she works that week, I travel/drive to see her. Her magic starts with neck/shoulder massage with blue oil. Even after she finishes the massage, blue oil makes you feel like she is still massaging you. Shampoo time is heavenly, especially when she massages my head. I become totally relaxed during shampoo time. At the end of shampoo time, hand/arm massage time to follow. Did I come here for massage or hair color/cut? Ashley is a master hair stylist, after she colors and cut my hair, I have a perfect hair moment. I sometimes change my hair color slightly and she always gets the color exactly I describe it. I don't know how she does it but color is always the way I want it. When she has time, she curls my hair. I just love the way she curls my hair. I feel like a princess when she does that for me. I saw Andrea for a cut/color and my hair turned out amazing! My hair is dark brown and my greys are very stubborn, so she made sure to cover them all with a special type of color. I also had her cut about 4 inches off my hair and she did such a great job. She added layers and made sure they were perfect. I was excited to try this salon because of having had such a good experience with the Aveda salon I went to for 4 years in Winston, NC. Unfortunately my experience here was not so positive. I paid a total of $160 plus tips for two haircuts within six weeks of each other, both of which were mediocre--uneven and unflattering. After the second one, I asked for a 15 minute consultation to see if there was anything that could be done to improve the cut. The stylist was unpleasant and made me feel bad about myself. I left an internal review about this afterwards and never received a response. I now go to the Supercuts right around the corner and receive much more consistent haircuts from a much kinder individual. Would not recommend this salon. read more

I got a hair color and dye with Stephanie. The negative review is in regards of her lack of communication on the price for the hair dye. I was charged extra for her using more dye. I normally would have no problem paying, however as a professional stylist, she should have been very clear from the start. Nothing kills a service more than a last minute alter in price when the customer is checking out. When I come into the salon, I expect honestly from the start and if there is a unexpected addition to the change such as using more hair dye, then please inform the customer. Communication is crucial in services like this, and I did not receive it. I will not be coming back. read more

I really didn't want to write this review but I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I experienced. I have a lot of hair but I've never felt so guilty about it until I sat in the chairs at this salon. Having a lot of hair shouldn't be something you make someone feel bad about, especially if you're a trained professional. I was charged $320 for my service, at first it $285 and the hairdresser raised my price to $320. That was extremely unprofessional to tell me a price then change it when I am about to pay. My highlights were also orange and extremely brassy. I called the salon numerous times and I left about 5 voicemails, I also left a message on the Instagram page and the website. After not hearing back from them I got my bank involved and not even a day later the salon owner contacted me. I explained that I was very unhappy with how my hair looked and that I paid way too much for my hair to look the way it did. She told me I could come in and she would try to fix it, she scheduled an appointment to then later reschedule. After I finally was able to come in to get my hair "fixed" I walk out with blue hair that she told me would wash off and leave a perfect tone, she also charged me $25 more so that totaled my service to $340 for a cut and brassy intoned streak highlights. My hair looks the same exact way it looked from when I walked out the first time. My hair is extremely damaged and orange. The salon owner never apologized or made me feel like a was a valued customer even after I paid so much. I have never had such a horrible experience at a hair salon before. read more

I could tell all the staff was experts and I would have been pleased to have any one of the stylists work with me. Stylist Trinity did a phenomenal job on my hair. I have mixed experiences so far. My first cut was with David. It was terrific. He squeezed me in late on Friday, the cut was superb, and his customer service was outstanding. I felt like he made my hair look beautiful. And my hair was a mess that day, so it took some effort to get it repaired. My latest cut was with Leigha and I am not happy. I asked for a certain cut and explained how I do my hair, but I don't feel like she put any effort in. I basically got a trim of my current style, which is not what I asked for. Then I got rushed out the door. For a $90 cut, I expect more effort and care than that. If you're not capable of cutting certain hair, it would have been more honest to admit that and let me reschedule with someone else. And besides the cost, feeling good with a haircut is so important in daily life. read more

I know better.....If a salon "charges" for your blowout, leave running. Half of a proper haircut is done AFTER styling. So, not only did I leave with half a haircut that looks like it was done by a 5 year old with their paper scissors, I left wet. Plain and simple I asked for a 90 degree long layered shag. Nothing off the length, bangs and the top only needed texturized, I just need the interior cut...Well, that didn't happen. I was given the complete opposite of what I asked for....only length removed, the top of my hair lobbed off (Now I look like I have a bowl on top of my head), and zero taken out of the inside.....Refunds are great but who cares about the money while you sit and wait a year for your hair to grow out. read more

I took a chance in trying out a new salon during this pandemic after moving here over this summer. I made the appointment online without any difficulties! Distinctive salon was great! They check temperatures and everyone was wearing a mask! It was required to wear a mask to go into the store. They still offer water, but no tea or complimentary massages at the moment due to COVID. The customers were seated with 1 station in between each other. I met Trinity for the first time and got a cut, color and blow dry! She was super sweet and attentative to detail to make sure I was happy with the finished product! Also if you refer someone you both get 10% off!!! Overall salon is nice, the gal who cut my hair believe her name is Stephanie(not sure, but had glitter strands in her hair) was nice. I walked in asked for a v line hair cut with some layering for Volume. I have long hair and upon arrival had a straight all around cut. She started of by cutting off about an inch all around found it odd but just went with it. Then she said alright take a look. So I once again mention I was looking for a v line hair cut showed her some pictures. She maybe cut a couple more strand and showed me and it was still a straight across cut with some long layers . I showed her another picture of what I was looking for( will attach below). She stated that it would look different when it dried. But I explain I really wanted shorted layers and a v cut once again. She cut some more and still no v line cut with layers. At this point 45min passed of me sitting there. I just said it's fine, that's okay thank you. I was scared to say no I still don't have what i want and if someone else could do it . So I just left unhappy with what i got and really thinking of going to super cut instead. I went in for a trim and a touch up for melt. I just had moved here from Atlanta. I asked what the price range is, fully knowing there are different levels in the aveda salons. I was booked with one of the high end (priced) colorist without being informed. I was sticker shocked. I paid more for a touch up ( and it literally took her 5 mins to cut my hair) than a full cut and full melt color in Atlanta. It was above the range I was given. when I asked for the breakdown, after tipping 20%, I was told there was a 35.00 bowl fee. I never received an informed explanation on what a bowl fee is. I called the next day and was dismissed by the receptionist about the price and bowl fee. As a business owner, I would want to know about any unhappy new, or regular, customer. An automatic text gets sent out asking for a survey and I replied that I would not recommend the salon... again as a small business owner, I would've responded right away to see how to make things right. The color didn't last ( I'm aware on how to take care of color) and she didn't take enough off that I had split ends right away and I don't blow dry or straighten my hair. First time I visited this salon was November 2020 and I'm from out of state. Despite being quoted a price of $60 for a hair cut and $95 for color of partial highlights when I scheduled a same day appt, the cost at the end of the service was $294, which represents more than a 55% increase. After explaining to the stylist the approximate price originally quoted, the cost was reduced by only $20. There was no discrepancy on the original price quoted as the stylist admitted she needed to better educate her colleague who answers the phone and who provided the original price quote. Also, the stylist, a tier 1, commented she should have explained the significant cost increase after initially assessing my hair. I then visited a high end Salon in Scottsdale, AZ, to check its prices for the color and cut by a tier 1 stylist. I was quoted a price of approximately $150-$175. It appears I was the victim of severe price gauging. While I liked my cut and color, the business did not honor the original price quote and did not rectify the error in a reasonable was as a reputable business would. read more
