I have been coming to this salon for about three years and I have always spoken very highly of it. That's why I'm especially disappointed by my experience today. My hair turned out great, but the pricing and communication was extremely frustrating. I originally booked a partial balayage for medium-length hair with a different stylist. Due to a last-minute change, I was reassigned to another stylist. The website has general pricing, but it doesn't indicate that certain stylists have higher rates, so I had no reason to expect a different price. I ended up paying about $100 more than I normally do for the same service, including being charged for a long-hair balayage. If my hair was considered long and I was going to be charged a higher price, I feel that should have been communicated to me before any product was applied. I would have at least had the opportunity to decide whether I wanted to continue with the service. When I asked about the pricing afterward, I was given different explanations, which left me even more confused. I completely understand that prices can vary, but the lack of communication beforehand was very disappointing. As a longtime customer, I left feeling upset and unfortunately don't think I'll be returning. read more

My boyfriend came around 4:45pm for a simple haircut and was waiting for around 30 minutes. Then when they got to him they said they cant do the service because it would take too long. Elizabeth cut and styled my hair and she did exactly as I wanted. My prior salon took off much more than expected, so I appreciate when a stylist actually follows the clients directive. The salon team does a great job of working together to make sure clients are taken care of in a timely way. From start to finish shampoo, cut, blow out was all completed in 30 minutes - I'm impressed by the efficiency. My hair feels very healthy and layers and bangs are how I was hoping it would turn out Was recommended this salon by a friend and I'm so happy to have a new go to hair spot! I've been extremely happy with my results every time, from my balayage to my touch ups, color comes out great & my hair feels and smells amazing walking out the door. I went in for a hair cut. I was pretty specific when I made the appointment that if the stylist didn't know how to cut layers with thick long hair then please reschedule me with someone who does. The salon was behind schedule so I didn't get serviced until 20 minutes after I arrived and about 40 minutes into the style she passed me off to someone else to blow dry because her next appointment was there. I don't know if she even finished the cut because I have little to no layers. I feel like the cut is way too choppy and uneven. I specifically mentioned I didn't want it super thick at the end. When I left i thought my hair was still wet after the blow dry. Turns out I didn't even get shampooed properly because the underneath sections of my hair were still totally greasy. I'm extremely disappointed because I was super specific and was just rushed through my appointment it felt like. read more

I went in with a specific picture and said I wanted a partial with low lights that match my natural color. No lowlights were put in during the foiling and I'm pretty sure they just put dye in while I was at the sink and I now have course to black cherry areas and I'm a red head. I'm not sure if something was wrong during interpretation (my stylist had an interpreter) but they also asked about my thick highlights and I confirmed that yes I wanted chunkier highlights and my hair is so blended as one. I'll need to go get low lights now but I already spent way too much. read more

$45 for 20 minutes of a haircut. Never in my life has even a professional trim lasted just 20 minutes. I walked in for my appointment which was at 4:45 and wasn't even asked if I was there for an appointment, I was told they'd be right with me. I was told to sit down and wasn't even introduced to the person cutting my hair, I guess I was supposed to assume it was Elizabeth, who my appointment was with. I was sat down at about 5:05. In 20 minutes I got a shampoo/conditioning that was so lackluster it felt like a toddler was giving it to me. She patted my head with the shampoo and didn't even rub it into my hair. This was followed by a quick, blunt haircut that couldn't have been more effortless. I asked her to blow dry my hair and she didn't even use a brush. She just held and patted my hair until it was 1/4 dry, didn't even turn my chair to the main mirror for me to see the front, didn't even check the layers/cut after it was "dry", and sent me on my way. I told them I didn't want styling because I was going to workout, but I didn't realize they would offer to dry it only to dry it 1/4 of the way and not even check their work. $45 later. I got home and dried the rest of my hair myself, only to find that most of the "layers" are completely uneven, and my face-framing layers are more like blunt bangs that look like a 5 year old did accidentally after running around with scissors. I would've gotten better at a Great Clips. Guess that's what I get for trying somewhere new just based on reviews. Thank god I wasn't asking for a legit styling done or a color. read more

Came to Phoenix for a month on vacation.....decided it was time to cut my hair short again after growing it out for 5 years. Making that big of a change can be stressful enough, then add to it finding a salon that can do what you want- cue the anxiety. I researched different salons in the area for about 2 hours before settling on Luxe. I'm really glad I did! Elizabeth did a fantastic job on my cut and highlights! I say highlights.....but, it was more of a color correction- thanks a lot Clairol. My hair looks so much fuller and healthier....and I will say, with all honesty- it was the first time I've walked out of a salon- and didn't get into my car to "fix" the way it was styled. read more

Went here for a haircut. I got charged for a haircut and style. I didn't want the style. They didn't take off what I asked for so I had to go back to get it redone. The long layers I asked for aren't there and it looks bad. I should have brought up the overcharge but I just wanted to be done with it. There was basically no communication about what I wanted. No questions asked. Didn't do what I asked and just kind of did whatever they wanted. For sure not coming back. read more

The ladies there were super sweet but I feel like they took on too many customers at once. I was passed between the two of them and moved to different chairs with my personal items being left with another customer (which made me feel uncomfortable). My stylish just assumed what I wanted done with my hair and didn't listen to me so my color was not what I wanted. She said I could come back and she would fix it but I feel like she should have talked more with me first before singing it. All in all- I don't think I would go back. I'm irritated with myself for not speaking up enough but more so to the fact that the stylist did not ask more about what I was looking for and that my personal items were left with a different customer while I was left at the hair wash station getting a "treatment" that no once really explained to me. read more

My second time there. I was never acknowledged by the actual person who was going to cut my hair. When you see you clients walk in, you say hi and I'll be right with you. I cannot give zero stars sadly. I had an appointment here for a balayage last weekend. First off, this place has absolutely nothing "Luxe" about it, point blank, but hey, let's not judge a book by its cover. I get there and yet he place seems like they are barely starting out. Ok. Cool. I get seated and my stylist consults and gets started. This entire time I'm observing the other stylists and what I assume to be the manager/owner. I was not impressed with what the other stylists were doing, but I was confident in mine since I had looked up pics of her work. This manager kept micro managing the appointments and just including herself in them. Ok. Whatever. Then she comes to my chair. Imagine the feeling when she's questioning my stylist. I mean holy hell unprofessional. I immediately started getting nervous but I figured she was gently just asking about her technique. I mean, pull her to the side, privately and go from there. As a client I did not want to hear about any of that, makes sense? Ok my appointment goes on. Fast forward to almost 5... homegirl needed to close at 5pm so guess what? Yes, I had to get rinsed out. All this time she was cleaning up and making it obvious that I was an inconvenience there. I'm sure y'all can see where this is going. I got rinsed out. My hair did not process properly, and there was not time to fix it or get a cut. I left with less than pleasant hair, soaking wet l, dry, orangey AND I still had to pay for the service. I ended up having to get it fixed the next day. Let me be clear, this was ABSOLUTELY NOT THE STYLIST FAULT AT ALL. She was very apologetic about it and she fixed the next day, but not at that horrid place. I'm happy with my hair thanks to her skill. I'm just upset that I had to pay the salon for it rather than her directly. That place is despicable. I will see if I can dispute this damn charge with my bank/cc company. I will see which board I need to call, maybe also the BBB. You would think as a professional stylist and owner, 1) apologize to me, 2) stay your ass there until your clients hair is done. And 3) take over if needed. Period. She must have somewhere to go since it was a Saturday. Why the eff did she let me PAY and LEAVE like that? She hid and did not come out at all after this. Not even a peep. Like fuck apologize. Don't fucking charge me. Or let me pay the stylist directly as a way to compensate for the shitty treatment we both got. Please do yourself a favor and do not go there. Shit place, shit owner, shit everything. read more
