As a new patient and recent breast cancer survivor, I felt incredibly uncomfortable when I shared my medical history with the dental assistant. Her reaction was as if she had seen a ghost. Without explanation, she left the room and return with the dentist. After a few questions, she told the dental assistant I was "ok" to be seen. The whole experience was very degrading. Then once I received my financial statement it seemed excessive and when I called my insurance to check the coverage they missed a lot. When I asked them to make the adjustments, they did for a few items and then told me it was the providers preference to use a material that was NOT covered. No follow up call. Customer service was very nice (June, Tiffany, the Dental Hygienists), but after you pay for your services, please don't have a concern/issue about their quality of services in your own mouth. You will then need to speak with the head doctor (Dr. Lising) that messed it up for everybody and a better review then this. Beware, big money grab dentistry. Terrible employees and the dentist will try to upsell giving you false information about what you need.

It's only after switching away that I realize what an upsell this place became. Every time I'd go over years they'd recommend some sort of expensive laser or something done, I just trusted their assessment and went with it. Getting second opinions at independent dentists found nothing they described. They said I had bad grinding wear and made me pay $500 for a mouthguard, my new dentist sees no such damage. Once the staff cleaning me dug the suction into my cheek so hard they cut it in three places and filled me mouth with canker sores. I went here for 2 years. I recently switched to a new HIGHLY regarded dentist and discovered almost everything they told me that was wrong with my teeth was a lie to get me to pay for more expensive treatments. they lied about my having gum disease (I do not have gum disease), they never filled a cavity despite telling me I have several (for two years I practically begged for help and they kept telling me my teeth were beyond repair and ended up extracting two teeth, not giving me any other choices), they would always shame me for my teeth despite not doing anything to help me (please note my oral hygiene and diet are both excellent). Several occasions they would tell me I'm ruining my life with how bad my teeth are and then I would ask for them to treat my cavities (I had 4) and they basically refused saying it was out of my budget, as if they had the right to tell me what my budget was??? I was so fed up I got a second opinion and felt humiliated and betrayed by a medical professional I thought I could trust. DO NOT GO HERE!! The fact that they still have the ability to practice dentistry is unbelievable. The people who work here should be ashamed of how they treat their patients. read more

Horrible experience. Went the first time and didn't enjoy it, usually really enjoy the dentist! They really try to upsell everything. It's just a weird environment. Second time I came they said my appointment was canceled. They said that I called and canceled it. But I had received three different confirmations through email and phone calls from them (never called to cancel). I then asked about my husband's appointment that was next week... Guess what... My experience with this office was by far the worst dental experience I have ever had. I went there for a cleaning and Dr. Sang told me I needed a crown replaced, I was not having any pain or symptoms. I listened to her advice and she replaced the crown, three hours I was in pain leaving the office. The pain continued to get worse the next few days so I returned. She said she needed to scale down the crown and proceeded to do so. Two days later I was in so much pain I had to return to find what was going on. That's when she said that I needed to see a specialist. She never prescribed any medications for pain or antibiotics. I refused to let her to do additional procedures on the crown that she replaced. I believed she damaged the nerve when she upsold me on the crown that I don't think I needed. Horrible experience with the dentist. The staff was helpful whey trying to refer me to a specialist. I showed up for my 7am appointment, for which I had received an email reminder and confirmed, only to find an empty office with the lights off and the door locked. I called the number, and was told that my appointment had been canceled a week earlier because the dentist I was going to see no longer worked there. The entire experience was absolutely amazing! I got there a little late, but the office was still able to accommodate me. It was freezing outside and the office was so warm and toasty! However, I would recommend a little office facelift by improving the interior design. Regardless, I have never been to dentist's office where everything was very well communicated to me. I decided to go with Heights Modern Dentistry because it was less than a mile from home and it was approved by my dental insurance. Win Win! I needed an filling for a root canal that was done my an endodontics (have no idea if that's how it's spelled since autocorrect deems it to be incorrect) and a regular dentist had to finish it off. Honestly, this was the best dental experience, ever. They email the items you have to sign via email, so you can do this before you get there, saving everyone time and paper! I had Dr. Shehab Eldin and i was was taken by surprise when the he asked me to tell him a little bit about myself, I actually really appreciated that. It showed that he really cared and wanted to show that through conversation. He had the benefits coordinator to come in and explain pricing and time of each procedure. STAY AWAY! This place is only here to CLEAN OUT YOUR WALLET AND NOT TO CLEAN YOUR TEETH!! I was required to choose a dental office for my brand new dental plan DeltaCare USA. I took a wild shot in the dark and choose this one. I am only 18 and just started my first full time job with benefits!!! I have been to the dentist every 6 months for the past 18 years under my parents insurance plan and have gotten my my teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months pretty much my entire life. I was shocked beyond belief when I was given a gingivitus diagnosis by a dentist here at Heights Modern Dentistry. I was never told that before, nor do I have any of the symptons!!! I was told by Dr. Sang that I would need a deep cleaning with laser and some other blah, blah, blah! However, before I even sat down I was asked where I worked. I think they were assessing what kind of job I had to see what I would be able to afford. Anyway, I was told I my dental plan would not pay for the deep cleaning and laser treatment that I needed and I would have to pay $295 out of pocket! I told the dentist just give me the "normal" cleaning that my dental plan covers. She was licking her chops and seemed disappointed that she wouldn't get that $295 out of me and then said it would be $40 for Flouride treatment. I told her I was pretty sure that my plan included the fluoride treatment but if it didn't that I would pass on the flouride treatment as well Unfortunately, I should have done my homework before visiting the dentist because sure enough, as soon as I got home I dug through the 32 pages of the plan, and my plan included the fluoride treatment. This dentist was obvioulsy just tring to extort at least $40 out of me since she didn't get the $295 she had hoped for. I wished I had checked the reviews and the dental plan. However, I checked reviews for other DeltaCare USA offices and it seems this the method of operation for most of them. So I will just be prepared for my next visit with all my plan materials in hand. I know I won't come back to this office because I'm sure they are crooks here. I hope I can find a dentist in the DeltaCare USA plan tht cares about the patient and not just about money. After being bugged to death to make sure I went to the appointment, I sat there for 45 minutes before walking out. This is not the first time this happened. They also charged me for 4 deep scaling sessions the last time I managed to get care, but they only did a standard x-ray and cleaning. The work they did was ok. There was one tooth that the oral surgeon stated that he would be back to fix later and a root canal would not save the tooth. He was correct, but that is not even why they get a one star review. We were very careful ever step of the way to make sure that we were clear on what I was going to pay and what insurance was going to pay. It is now almost two years later and I am getting letters and calls from a collection agency about and amount that they failed to file. It is too late for me to file with my old insurance company from two years ago and it would have paid if had they filed correctly. Do not do business with this company. I went in desperate for help and in tremendous pain from a previous dentist in the area. They accepted my dental insurance and I was able to get seen the following day. I had full X-rays taken, and they were able to do an extraction and a crown that day. The office has an on-site machine for same day crowns! No more dealing with temporary crowns! The office staff are cheerful and helpful, the office and patient rooms are nicely laid out with TVs in the patient rooms (always a nice touch). The best part of my experience was my dentist, Dr. Ahmed Eldin. He really stopped and listened to my concerns (a first for me), and I felt he was genuinely concerned about relieving my pain, and getting me better again. I consider myself a high-maintenance dental patient, voicing concerns, inpatient, etc. (I'm working on this) but Dr Eldin was the kindest, most patient dentist I've ever had! I had no issues with the work performed, and keeping pain to a minimum is a primary concern. He exudes a kind and caring nature, I can't say enough about how great this office is! read more

This was the second time going to this dentist. The first time I saw around 4-5 different people from check-in which I found to be odd. They tried to get me to do a deep cleaning that was about $100 more than the normal cleaning. I declined and did their regular cleaning. The 2nd time I went (knew I should have changed places), they tried to say I needed the better cleaning and said that it was their "policy" to require it after the first time you decline. Before going to Heights Modern Dentist, I went to a dentist over near my parents house for years. The cleaning they gave me was thorough and honestly I always dreaded going. Well I see why I didn't like going.. my old dentist ACTUALLY cleaned my teeth. After I complained about how they shouldn't be able to deny me a cleaning and I was unaware of this policy.. they proceeded with my teeth cleaning. Heights Modern spent about 5 minutes on my "cleaning" saying they could only do so much since I didn't pay for the upgraded cleaning. What a SCAM... I will definitely never be going back there. Finding a dentist that doesn't charge a fortune was on top or my priority list. I came across The Heights Modern Dentistry through my insurance portal and let me tell you I'm so happy I did. I've had really bad dental experiences and going to the dentist always gives me anxiety. However, Dr. Eldin was so nice and patient with me. He made sure to explain the procedure in detail before he did anything. I went in to get a cleaning and I knew I had cavities, but didn't know a filling had chipped. He went above and beyond to fix it for me at no cost. This was my very first visit with him. I came a week later to get my cavities filled in and it was at a way reasonable price. It was a smooth procedure and I didn't not feel pain during the process. In the evening after the anesthesia went away, I had a mild pain but nothing serious. When I first started going to Heights Modern Dentistry, it as great. The hygienists were friendly, the dentists were knowledgeable, etc. During my most recent visit, it seemed as if everything had changed. My husband and I received a message that our dentist had left and we were scheduled with a new dentist. However, it seems as if more than just our dentist leaving has changed. As someone who has always loved going to the dentist, always received great feedback and compliments on my dental hygiene, I didn't expect to need a deep water pik cleaning (very painful). Questions I asked were ignored or brushed over and I left understanding why most people dread going to the dentist. I thought it might be a one off experience until my husband had a similar experience today. We are able to visit the dentist 3-4 times per year with our insurance, so it's curious how in under 6 months my husband's gums went from pristine to "pre-gingivitis" and in need of a deep cleaning (with an additional price tag). It's unfortunate that this office changed so much, as a year ago, I would have recommended it to anyone in search of a dentist. Now, I recommend to stay away. read more

The technicians seemed inexperienced, uneducated and overall unsure of themselves. The technician could not perform my x-rays after numerous attempts and told me she did "not have the correct tools". Therefore I assume she was not provided with the proper equipment to accurately assess her patients. The tech had to request the help of another technician to correctly take X-Rays of my mouth in which the tech caused pain and uncomfort to get the images. I was polite and patient however, the front office receptionist could not seem to get my information even though I had already completed my online portfolio and uploaded all relevant information. In addition to calling my DeltaCare provider and ensuring the visit would be covered under my plan and they were my assigned facility with the corresponding facility ID. I even gave the front desk receptionist my insurance card physical copy and my social security number yet nobody was able to acquire the relevant insurance information despite my efforts. The front office receptionist kept interrupting and genuinely looked lost and confused. I finally saw the dentist, she was polite but not authentic, I felt like I was being treated like a policy number instead of a patient. I asked her to recommend over the counter products for aesthetic whitening yet she did not listen to me and insisted to offer medical whitening treatments that I could not afford because they are not covered by my insurance. I did not feel listened to or advocated for. I requested a basic cleaning after no cavities were found and a cost estimate on wisdom teeth extraction. After several hours of waiting I did not receive a basic cleaning or any estimates whatsoever. I had to leave and they offered to call me to reschedule but it was very inconvenient considering I took my PTO to attend a dental appointment and did not receive the care or standard of treatment that I deserved. Was good for a while then my dentist who had been there a few years left . about 8 months ago Got cavaties filled in two back molars- the teeth were giving me no trouble I was just being pro -active - now they have been- very-heat and cold sensitive since I had it done and its hard to eat . Went back after three moths and they gave me a cold spray test to be sure they were sensitive and suggested I buy a $750 splint to see if that helped and if not they could check later and I may need root canal. Decided to finally go to the dentist after putting it off for an embarrassing amount of time. Overall an amazing experience! Pros: - Front desk staff is very personable and kind. Made it very easy to make an appointment and can do admin stuff electronically (i.e, new patient dental history, emailing receipts, insurance). - Have very modern technology for x-rays. Plus the X-ray tech wouldn't stop laughing at my jokes (I'm not that funny!). The Doctors are okay but the staff is ridiculous. High prices and don't cover their work. Had to replace "the best material crown (most expensive) in less than 1.5 years. Told me to pay full price because insurance wouldn't cover the same tooth and the lab only insures 1 year. When I agreed to have the repair done I saw in my chart where it stated that the previous tooth wasn't seated properly and would most likely need rebonding. Which I was never told. I am very happy with my first experience at this office! Upon entering the door, I was immediately greeted with smiling faces, immediately checked in and then almost immediately taken back. What I enjoyed about the initial sign-in process is that it is all by computer, no filling out paperwork here! I guess that's where the "modern" part comes in haha. Unlike most offices, where an assistant usually takes you back and then you're greeted by another assistant before you actually visit with the doctor, here, the doctor himself actually came out to greet me in the waiting room and then walked me back. The entire staff was very friendly and explained all parts of the process as we went along. They use "modern" technology with regards to x-rays and pictures and it's right there where you can view it as they record. Each patient room comes equipped with a TV and remote for your viewing pleasure. In the middle of the visit, the office attendant makes a visit and goes through the work to be performed and pulls your insurance information up right in front of you as you lay comfortably in the dentist chair, and then explains all financial terms to you. Every part of my visit went very smoothly and I was never left alone waiting for long periods of time. Their scheduling is on point, like a well-oiled machine. If I could give negative stars to this dentistry business, I would. Both my husband and I have been several times. I've had x-rays and have been there for 2 cleanings. My husband has had the same as well as getting a tooth pulled and he also got a filling. I want to make clear that we really, really LIKED our dentist. He was fantastic! The oral hygenist was not. The first time we went to get cleanings, we were heavily sold on how our mouths were "diseased" and we needed to get special cleaning for a lot of money. Both of us declined. Later, I received a survey to find out if we felt we were being oversold - which we were. The second cleaning had me waiting in the front room for nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment. By the time I got back and waited another 30 minutes for the hygenist, she came in and ripped through my mouth with the fastest, most painful and disrespectful cleaning I've ever had. I have a high tolerance for dental pain, and I left holding my face. I went home and took a painkiller. I wrote directly to the office about the experience rather than writing a review on Yelp. (As I said, I like the dentist!) I was promplty responded to and told my next cleaning would be free. Apologies were given and everything was set. I had already made an appointment in person with my calendar in front of me and was ready for my 6 month follow up. Flash forward 6 months... I get an email reminding me of my appointment. OK. Thank you. I have it in my calendar and I'll see you there. Then, I got a phone call message. I listened to the first minute of it, but I'm a busy person and don't have time to respond to every little thing. I already scheduled the appointment in person and got the email. I failed to see a reason why I need to listen to a lenghty message with office instructions. So, I assumed all was set to go. I arrange a ride to get to the dental office to find out that after all of that, they gave my (free) appointment away. My schedule is super-tight and I tell her, I had an appointment that I already made, why is it not there anymore? The receptionist tells me that there should have been a link to reply to in the email to let them know I was definitely coming. I pulled up the email and showed it to her and she says, "That's funny. I don't know why it's not there? But, we did leave a message for you to call us back if you wanted your appointment." UM... THIS is where I have a problem. I ALREADY booked with you In-Person. She told me there was nothing they could do unless I wanted to wait an hour to get my teeth cleaned, because someone else already took my appointment. It is NOT my job to call you back to confirm an appointment I made in person months before. You get paid to work at your place of business. I pay you to give me the service you provide. My insurance (which I pay) also pays you for the service you provide. I work really, really long hours to pay both my service providers and my insurance. Since when does it become my job to do yours? I had been putting off the dentist since moving to Houston because I do not like the dentist and I knew I had a crown or inlay that I needed to take care. This meant that I would probably be coming to the office a couple of times in a short time frame. I was a new patient and a little worried about stepping into the unknown. All the reviews are positive (except for one person that does not say what went wrong) so my choice was easy. Since the office is so new, they have state of the art technology and an open schedule. I was able to get an appointment whenever I wanted. Score! When I arrived, the receptionist greeted me immediately and made me feel comfortable. She offered me water and was extremely nice. After that, the dental assistant took me back and got me situated. We quickly took some x-rays and chatted for a bit. Dr. Cradoc quickly came in after the x-rays and got to know me on a personal level a little bit. I could tell that the staff communicated with each other well as they all (Dr., assistant and hygenienist) knew a little something about me before they came in. I felt very comfortable with everyone and trusted them all. After going through my x-rays, it was clear I needed an inlay (yikes!). The office was able to do my cleaning and inlay that day which ended up saving me a lot of time in the end. I have never been to an office where they were able to accomodate for patients like this. The inlay was also painless! I was amazed at the skill Dr. Cradoc and his team exhibited. I have never felt so comfortable in a dentist's chair. Before receiving perscribed treatments, I reviewed my insurance benefits with a benefits counselor and they even offered flexible payment options. During my cleaning, the hygienist gave me a lot of pointers and explained why certain things happened and how to prevent them. I felt that I could ask as many questions as I wanted and that the hygienist and dentist truly cared about my dental hygiene and well-being. After Andrew D. recommended I check out his dentist on a Friday afternoon, I made a quick phone call on Monday morning and they had me in at 3:30 that same day--talk about speedy service! Admittedly, I'm sure they are less busy now as they've only been open about 3-4 weeks, but I do appreciate how they made me feel so well accommodated. At first I couldn't figure out what made Andrew D. so terribly enthusiastic about his DENTIST. I mean, it's the freaking dentist. How exciting can it be? After my first visit, though, I will say that I have been converted into what Andrew's girlfriend calls "a member of the cult." This place is absolutely awesome and totally lives up to the name. They are brand new and seem to have the latest in dental technology. As someone who suffered 4 years of orthodontics (including headgear and a major corrective jaw surgery) I probably feel more "at home" in a dentist's office than most. Still, this place is "not your mom's dentist's office," as I remarked to them on my tour. Every room has its own TV and they hand you the remote as soon as you walk in so you can quickly flip to whatever you'd like. The staff is the best. Every single person you'll talk to is friendly, fun, and super outgoing. I've definitely never had so much fun at a dentist's office before, which was good since I was there for about 3.5 hours since Kyle C. and I went in tandem and they tried to take care of both of us at the same time. (His deep cleaning took much longer.) I didn't spend much time with Dr. Cradoc since I was mostly there for a cleaning and periodontal assessment, but he was great! Super nice, very knowledgeable, and even watched some Food Network with me even though he was done with the exam. He also offered Kyle C. and I complimentary whitening right before our wedding in July which really sealed the deal! And now that Kyle C. will be going back for laser gum treatment, we will be regulars--can't say I'm too disappointed since they are such a blast! read more

I have to say, I don't usually write negative reviews, but I, too, noticed that this place has a LOT of very positive reviews for what you get. I am back on Yelp to look for a new dentist after my last "cleaning" with Heights Modern, and I noticed they had 41/2 stars. What?! First, the positive. It is a nicer facility. Comfy with some fancier things. Second, the dentist did seem knowledgable, but... I felt like I was in a hard sell appointment, such as being pitched a Kirby vacuum cleaner or time share, from the minute I sat in the dentist chair. The dentist himself tried to get me to agree to a number of treatments. But my main complaint was with the dental hygienist who was the WORST. First of all, she barely cleaned my teeth and kept stating that she'd do it a little more thorough "next time". Also, she literally kept trying to guilt trip me into getting more services. Then there was a third office worker who kept trying to get me to set up some plan to get all the recommended services, which were quite pricey btw. Between the three of them, it was very uncomfortable, and I felt very pressured. Not a nice experience at all, especially at the dentist when you are already feeling vulnerable. Wow!! What a great visit I had. Everyone made me feel so welcomed. The office was clean and really up to date on technology. Unfortunately I needed a crown but being offered a same day crown and pain free. Wow, I was really impressed. Dr Cradoc took such great care of me! I recently moved to the area and found these guys through my insurance website and I'm super glad I did! The staff was great and were very helpful and took the time to answer all my questions in detail. The office was clean, bright and modern...definitely a nice feeling for the sometimes nerve-wracking dentist visit. I met with Dr. Chong who was honest, knowledgeable and accommodating.
