I am very impressed. For one, they are very timely. Don't play yourself and come (especially on the weekend) without an appointment. You will end up waiting or have to come back. They are also quite clean. Sterilizing tools and washing their cloths. When you come here, you'll see customers calling the nail techs by name and can tell a lot of people come here regularly. Prices are reasonable and hard to beat without sacrificing quality. I came in for a gel manicure and was quite happy with it. They have seasonal collections to choose from. Nancy is super funny and took care of me the first time. I picked out a black color that I wasn't too sure about and she was like, "no, pick another one." Not in a rude way, I promise. She ended up being right and I liked her work. No peeling for 3 weeks. I came in again and had Chloe. She is super skilled and it looked really good. She was also very gentle. read more

Liked this place until I got my nails done by a women named "Hao Ta" she had a rude vibe from the moment I sat down. Instead of asking me what color I want shes telling me what color to get which I thought was to forward. When it came time for my gel pedicure she kept saying loudly how bad my feet were. After the third time I gave a blank stare and didn't acknowledge her comments anymore. (Seems like she got a kick every-time I would try and say something). I guess she got the hint she was making me upset and gave me a free pedicure spa treatment but she was just rude and disrespectful to a paying customer. never coming here again after being serviced by her. read more

I recently moved to the H Street Corridor and decided to treat myself to a pedicure for the summer. The online booking system was easy, and the reminders were helpful. I found the salon clean and pretty--tucked away on the second floor above the Ethiopian restaurant on 4th and H. The check-in process was great, and Bay Tran gave me a lovely pedicure. The staff wore masks and gloves, and they seemed generally careful about hygiene. A note on payment: They only accept Venmo or cash for tips, but they have QR codes for each nail technician for easy scanning. I'll definitely return! read more

I've been coming to this nail salon since June 2021, I usually get good service but after I told my nail tech that I didn't like how she did my nails they call me the "complainer" and get looked weird whenever I come in. Today I called since my nails broke 3 days I got them done to get it repairs and told me that we can't fix a broken nail today because we are busy but when I went on their page they had availability the whole day. I got my nails done here a little over a week ago. One nail cracked within a day. I went back, they fixed it. Days later, while out of the country, three more nails cracked and chipped. Properly applied gel does not do that. Most salons tell you it should last two weeks and guarantee their work on that. So once I got back, I called to make an appointment to have them fixed. The guy got a little snappy with me on the phone and asked for a picture. I sent it, and he said come whenever. If only that had been the worst of it. I just left that absolute horror show of getting them fixed, i.e. being completely harassed by multiple manicurists trying to swindle me to pay for them fixing their mistake. As if I had somehow done anything wrong. It took all my patience to stay calm. Do not go here unless you want completely substandard service and treatment. You could not pay me to go back. read more

Sorry but I wasn't too impressed by the staff or services at this nail salon. I scheduled an appointment on 10/03/2020 for dipping powder manicure, gel pedicure, and eyebrow wax. Unfortunately, I had to file off the dipping powder nail color due to chipping around the nail tips after only having it for about a week and half. The owner (I'm assuming) named Linda did my dipping powder manicure and eyebrow wax. She totally BUTCHERED MY EYEBROWS. I told her that I like them thick and too not take too much off and she did the total opposite. Now I have to grow out my eyebrows again and get them back to the way they were, FULL and THICK, NOT SUPER NARROW and THIN. When I told her that she messed up my eyebrows and that she took too much off, she RUDELY and ARROGANTLY stated something in her native language after I complained about her messing up my eyebrows. As far as my dipping powder manicure, she (Linda) did offer to fix any of my nails if I have any issues with them, to just come back. I do not plan to return back to the place. I didn't get good vibes from this place. Also, the lady ( Ana or Anna) who did my gel pedicure was very rough and didn't give me the correct pedicure that I wanted. I wanted the one that cost $55, not $65. She also watched me like a hawk as I went to go pay for all services before leaving. I initially got a quote of $110 over the phone and when I came in and asked for the price upfront. They told me my total was $110 with a debit/credit card but $105 with cash. After going back and forth with the owner (Linda), she compromised and charged me the $105 as stated when I arrived for my appointment. With all that being said, I do give them (2) stars for the following: 1. Practicing social distancing with having customers sit at every other pedicure, massage chair. You also have to sign some sort of COVID-19 waiver/ paperwork which doesn't protect the customer but more so the business. They don't want to be liable if you get symptoms after visiting their establishment. 2. The guy who works at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. read more

I give this place two stars for customer service. The pros: they were very friendly, seated me immediately and both manicure and pedicure were expediant. Cons: about 6 days after my manicure my dip powder chipped on two nails. Two weeks after my manicure 7/10 nails are chipped. I don't think the technician who did my nails knew how to properly execute a dip manicure. She didnt wait at all between coats and the bonding agent was thick and applied unevenly. I asked for almond-shaped nails and got round. I had to file them when I got home to the shape I wanted. The ambiance was dated and many of the polishes I opened for my pedicure were outdated and very thick. I'm not sure how sanitary their establishment is because I didn't witness any stations being wiped down in between clients. I will not be returning. read more

They also were attempting to charge me one price and didn't know what was true cost and ended up charging me $50. The fact that this was the result of my nails is not okay. This nail salon does a fantastic job during the pandemic. They social distance as much as possible, have clients wash their hands before entering the salon, and sign a health waiver. All the staff is masked (sometimes, even double masked!) and there's hand sanitizer and a plexiglass shield at every station. I always make sure to book an appointment and they've been very accommodating. I usually get my nails done by Linda, the owner, and she's the absolute best. I leave the salon satisfied with the quality of my nails each time. Even on days Linda doesn't do my nails, my nails still turn out fantastic! I go in once a month to get a gel manicure. Between each manicure, my gels stay on and my nails are as healthy as ever. I have been to several nail salons in the city and they continue to be the best place in town. I tend to bring in cash, but they can also do Venmo and card. However, they don't do tip on card. I'll continue returning to District Nails no matter where I am in the city! read more

My recent experience has left me perplexed and bothered. I am a Black woman, to be told that me having an opinion on how to direct my care of service bothers me. Dan, the manager, was no help in mitigating a potential volatile situation. I was made to feel uncomfortable for someone else's comfort. I was told that I was being rude by Dan. This was his way of defending poor and negative behavior from an older worker who was taking off my gel polish for my pedicure appointment. He then ended with a sarcastic remark stating, "The customer is always right." Then laughs as he walks away in the middle of me asking him for the 3rd time to please elaborate on my rude behavior. To be told that my simple requests for no drilling on my nail bed would be the reason why I am as given poor service is WRONG! I was made to feel less than for no good reason. I love coming here. This has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. The culture needs to do better for ALL the people who expect quality service. I am hurt and disappointed in Dan and how the situation was handled. I got the basic pedicure and it may be one of the worst I've ever gotten. When I walked in, the customers getting their pedicures had been there for a while based on the sign in sheet, but tell me why I finished before them? It was supposed to be a 40 minute pedicure but maybe 10 minutes were spent on the cleaning/cutting/filing, 2 minutes were spent on a massage, and 10 minutes were spent painting my toenails. I'm not even exaggerating when I say she painted at least 8 coats of polish. It's only been a week and my polish has already chipped off, and I noticed she actually didn't even clip my nails and just painted over it. I'm so disappointed by my experience here. read more

I just found this new gem! Like I was legit sleeping on this salon! They are so nice from the time you come in till you leave. Jessie was my tech and she was great and accommodating. I got some new shoes that bruised my foot and bandaged it for me like thank you so much! They serve wine and drinks which was a plus. I was very relaxed after my appt and I can't wait to go again. Enjoyed getting nails done here while on vacation. No issue with last minute appointment for 2 people. Two gel manicures, one gel pedicure with extra massage and one honey and milk pedicure and one eyebrow wax all for $185.00. The staff was very welcoming and didn't try to make small talk, which is difficult with a mask and a language barrier. As an added bonus I was asked if I wanted anything to drink, which I turned down but it was a nice gesture. I was pleased with my experience today. They have many Covid-considerations in place, including required masks, plastic shields, and lots of hand sanitizer. They always do a great job on my toes, which was particularly valued today since they haven't gotten a lot of attention over the past couple months! This place was terrible. I made an appointment for 1:30 for 2 people and didn't have someone start until 2p because they only have 4 techs on staff. The massage was painful, they burned (legitimately burned) my boyfriend's foot with an overheated rock and they didn't have any quick dry spray for my pedicure, so I literally had to sit there for 45 minutes for my freaking toes to dry. To add insult to injury, after my $70 pedi, I saw they had wine (gross, out of this huge unlabeled jug), but they never offered it. After seeing the jug, that seems like more of a blessing than a curse, but I digress. I get that this may sound like the most boujee review ever, but when you treat yourself and expect to at the very least keep your reservation time, $70 for a crappy pedi (toes have nail polish on them) is too much. I'll be going back Eastern Market Nails and will never come back to this place. Also, side bar, one of the ladies weirdly petted my boyfriend's back after I did with zero context. It was super awkward. Quick addition: the lady who rubbed his back ate a hard boiled egg then demanded she put oil on my feet with her egg hands and then wrapped them in sandwich bags and put my socks over them. Worst salon experience of my life. I came for SNS rather than gel to avoid the UV rays and she put three layers of gel on top of the SNS without asking. She also never washed her hands, only wore one glove, and was picking things up off the floor and then immediately touching my hands. On the hunt for a new nail place and decided to give it a try. First off, in terms in cleanliness due to COVID this place was great. I saw them wipe down chairs after someone walked away and used new utensils when doing my nails. The guy at the front desk also had amazing customer service and ran things in an organized manner. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because for 1. My appointment was at 11:15am only for a gel manicure and I did not leave the shop until 12:40pm. For 2. I initially requested a gel manicure but once I arrived I asked if I could do the dip powder instead and the staff alerted me that the nail tech that can do dip powder will not arrive until 1pm. I told them it's ok I'll stick with my gel. Once the nail tech started doing gel I showed her a picture of nails I wanted (literally one with glitter then 2 hearts drawn on my nails for vday and my bday) the nail tech once again alerted me that nobody else in the shop can draw expect for the same lady coming in at 1pm. The guy at the front desk stepped in and said no one here can draw but he does have stencils. Great alternative, yes but do I want gel nails with stencils for my bday/vday? I think not.
