Heaven's cakes tarts and pastries are a little more rustic looking but I actually prefer them that way. I'm also giving them 4/5 "green stars" for social and environmental impact. I ended up getting a cappuccino and slice of a quiche and both were excellent. My wife ended up getting a scone which was also terrific and a latte. We also had an 18 month old with us and we were surprised that they catered well to children and had baby chairs as well. This is a place where it is welcoming and once you sit down, it is hard to leave. Service was friendly and quick and if we were staying in Killarney longer, there would have definitely been a repeat visit to this place. We will look to visit this place on our next trip to Killarney.

The porridge was very good and I'd highly recommend it. The decor is very comfortable and inviting. This is truly a reader's dream place. The fare is minimal but fresh and delicious from the bits we tried. This brings me to the hot chocolate. Hubby had the tall mug of steaming milk placed in front of him with an enormous block of chocolate on a stick - like a huge square lollipop. The idea was to stick it in the milk and stir until melted. There was a choice of white, milk or dark if I remember correctly (definitely more than just the white chocolate option). He absolutely LOVED it and declared it to be the best he had ever had - check out the photos. The ONLY reason they didn't get a 5 star was due to the lack of seating. We had to wait a while to get a seat and I'm not sure what they could do about that, but if you only have a limited amount of time in Kinsale, you may just want to pop your head in first to see if there is anything available.
