    Hydrafacial!!!
    Katarina H.

Got my first hydrafacial today and WOW. My poor dry skin really needed it! I have never felt my skin so hydrated, clean, and glowing. Do your skin a favor and get a hydrafacial! I'll 100% be back. 10/10 would recommend Diva Salon & Spa! Thanks, Diva team!!

Two Words: Run away. A more detailed description is that not only did I not get the colour or cut that I requested from the employee Andrew (the usage of the term hair stylist would be an insult to any other person within that profession), I was treated to the worst customer service experience imaginable. After being referred to this salon by an acquaintance and knowing that before New Year's Eve (December 29) it would be busy, I booked my appointment for chunky, defined light brown lowlights, beige highlights and a cut a month in advance. When I arrived I had very clearly explained to Andrew exactly what I wanted with pictures for reference. It wasn't complicated. Although perhaps he had tried his best, customers do not return for mediocrity. Included in this review is a screen shot of the back of my head where a large section of my natural hair can be clearly defined from the very dark colour Andrew used on the rest of my hair. This large section was completely omitted from the colouring process, looked sloppy and ill matched to the rest of my hair. I asked for chunky high and lowlights. What I ended up with was almost completely dark hair (except for the large patch of my natural hair he omitted) with minimal lowlights scattered through out. As he was putting in the dark colour, I questioned Andrew on if it was going to be as dark as I was seeing because that is not what I had asked for. He assured me that it would be a warmer, lighter colour. After the colour was applied to my hair, Andrew told me that because the consultation and colouring process took too long and he had another appointment, he did not have the time to cut my hair. I was given one of two options: 1)come back at 8 pm (6hours later) or 2)have someone else cut it. As I had planned my schedule around this appointment and I was flying out for a New Year's Eve celebration early the next morning, I had no choice but to choose the latter option. Like I said earlier, I had booked my appointment well in advance with a exact description of what my hair was before and what exactly what I wanted done to it. It wasn't rocket science and I didn't ask for anything beyond what I had booked for. Although the apprentice who stocks the shelves and sweeps the floor was a very nice lady, I did not book this appointment with her. I wish now that I had because I am certain she could have done better than this oaf. As I sat there insulted at being blown off by a rude little troglodyte and gawking in horror at the mess that was now my hair, Andrew came over to look at his handy work. When I had said that the colour was too dark, he didn't seem at all surprised and offered if I wanted to come back the following week, he would fix it. What good does next week do for me when I was having it done for New Year's Eve? I asked the cleaning lady to just trim because I didn't want to chance anymore disasters. Upon leaving and paying my bill, (once again I felt I had no option but to pay because of the waiver of agreement you sign during the consultation) I spoke to the manager who was very apologetic for my experience and gave me a $25 gift card towards a future colour appointment. I threw the card in the mall garbage with the hopes that no unlucky soul would ever use it. As I was given two options, I will give readers of this review two options as well before having their hair done by Andrew at Diva Salon: 1) shave your head before seeing him so there is nothing for him to destroy and disappoint you with or 2) buy $30 dollars of Clairol at a Drug store because you will have a better customer service experience and save $130.00 dollars.

This is what they consider nice face faming low lights LOL. Do not recommend. The manager also didn’t show good customer service.

I was looking for a new hairdresser since moving back to Calgary and thought I had found it but…read morewhat I experienced was the opposite! It was right up there with the very worst experience I ever had. I went to have a hair cut on short hair, and highlights. I noted twice that I wanted when someone looks at me to experience blonde. I came out of there, apparently not having been heard, with dark hair a horrible color and not at all what I wanted. And the cut? Well it was a chop job, no notice taken when I stated that I had two crowns and cowlicks ( I would expect a stylist to take those into account but no). I said that I did not like the color and that it was too dark and she argued with me! Am I not the customer here? So I decided to contact the stylist for a color correction only to be told that it would be another $200 on top of the $300+ I already paid. Are you kidding me? And again arguing with me!!!!!!!!! This is my wallet and I am horribly dissatisfied with both the color and the cut. In my opinion people need to know what they are getting themselves into here! I will never ever darken their door again!

I've been the the refinery for 3 appointments since they opened and had fairly good services each…read moretime until recently. The stylists are quite good at what they do but the professionalism is lacking (starting service 15 mins past the appointment time, taking personal calls on their cell phones while performing services, and sometimes sharing really personal information). I often take the day off work and schedule my hair appointments first thing in the morning when the salon opens because the salon is so far from my house and it turns in to a day event. I'm fairly punctual and always arrive 5 mins before my appointment time. Each time I have come in for a service there is never anyone there before me and I have to wait in the hallway until a stylist shows up at 10:00 or 5 mins past. Not the worst thing, but a bit annoying. Today I booked an appointment for 10:00 am on Friday before a long weekend and the same thing happened again. No one was there. Another employee showed up a few minutes after 10:00 and let me in but explained she did not know where my stylist was. I waited in the salon for 20 minutes while the other employee tried to get a hold of my stylist and the owner. The owner finally called and said there was an emergency and the stylist would not be coming in. The employee started to cry and asked if I could come back later in the afternoon and unfortunately I was not able to because of other appointments I had scheduled. I left my name and number for the owner to call me when she got in and left the salon. 6 hours pass and still no call from the owner. I call back at this time and the owner answers. I explained that I was upset with how this morning went down and that I understand that emergencies come up but I was very inconvenienced by taking the day off, driving across the city and not being able to have my service done. I explained that I booked the day off to get the service done because I have family coming in from out of town for the holidays and then I leave for vacation on the next business day. The owner apologized but took a bit of a defensive tone and explained the stylist was in the hospital and there was nothing she could do to foresee this happening. I said I completely understand that and asked if there was anything the salon could do to compensate for my inconvenience. The owner said she can't offer me anything over the phone but could discuss the possibility of a free service next time I come in but it would have to be in the next day or two. I explained I had family coming in from out of town and was not available for an appointment until I return from my vacation in 2 weeks. The owner said she can't really do anything for me in that timeline and again that she has no control over an emergency. I felt a bit frustrated with the response from the owner as it felt really unprofessional and defensive. I completely understand that emergencies come up but I am expecting service to be done at my appointment and felt like an apology should have been made and the salon should have tried to accommodate my schedule to make up for the missed service. No other stylists were available at the time and I just had to leave. It's a really beautiful salon but I will not be returning after this experience.
