I can't tell you how grateful I am to have find this place. I wish I had remembered to take a picture right when I got the haircut but oh my! I am NOT a girlie girl. I'm not one to get up four hours before work to get my hair perfect. I'm too busy for that so I get up and go. BUT I try to take pride in my hair and keep hairstyles that accommodate my busy schedule and taste in style. I can't tell you how many places I've tried over the years that can't even get a style right when I have a physical photo to go off of!!! I had an appointment with yet another place but they treated me like crap even with an appointment so while I waited I googled near by places and found this godsend. They not only took me on short notice but Stephanie was AMAZING!! She was talkative and friendly but not overly talkative that makes it awkward. Ruth is amazing! I have spent TWO YEARS trying to find someone who could cut curly hair without completely screwing it up, AND maintain my beloved red. She's amazing! She somehow managed to make it about 5 times healthier than it's ever felt, and the color and cut are both gorgeous! Not to mention that she stayed after hours to squeeze me in last minute. Great and homey salon with talented hairdressers and a consistent clientele. I wasn't sure what to do with my hair, so they really left me stunned and looking like a whole new woman with a fresh and cute cut. I'm sure this review will be "filtered" because its a bad review, and I don't like to write bad reviews, but when it comes to hair(especially MY hair), I feel like I need to be truthful about things.anyways, heres my story: I got a coupon of the living social website so I thought I would try it out. It seems like a nice salon. Kinda hard to find since its so off by itself. The parking lot was empty when I got there but I figure since it was evening no one might be getting their hair cut. Another customer was there and her hair was looking nice so I wasn't expecting this kind of experience.I got my hair cut by I'm guessing by a new hairstylist who was new out of beauty school. All I wanted was for my highlights to be done and a trim. I wanted my highlights to be a caramel color. Well after I was done sitting she washed the color out and when I saw my hair it was YELLOW! Not blonde or caramel like I wanted. YELLOW. I said it wasn't right so we went back with the toner. The owner walked in at the moment and was asked by the stylist what color of toner I needed. The owner then mixed it up after asking me what color I wanted my hair to be. After it was washed out it seemed ok. Not caramel still, but looked at the time to be ok. So we proceeded to the cut. I asked for just a trim. She did start cutting but she was just talking away and I was noticing that she was not cutting my layers at an angle like I've seen previous stylists do with cutting. She was Just cutting my layers straight. She asked if I would like my hair thinned out and I said yes. She pulled out a razor and began to hack away at my hair with it. I don't know much about hair cutting but I know when other stylists have thinned out my hair its with one of those special looking shears made for that. So after a 5 MINUTE "trim" she started to blowdry my hair which that didn't come out bad and I paid and left. So afterwards when I got home I started looking at my hair closer. I noticed that my hair looking almost an ORANGE color. I just washed it today and now I see the real damage that the woman did to me hair. It looks absolutely awful! The "layer" that she hacked away at my hair look just monsterous and the top "layer" is almost above my ear so I don't know how the heck I'm supposed to be able to find someone to fix it. I'm trying to grow it out and its so bad I have a feeling I well have to hack a lot of it off. Its so raggity looking now..and that orange color is bothering me even more. This whole experience was just a waste of money. read more

I hang up call right back and they help right away to setup my appt she was very efficient making me an appt with her bad attitude I say thank you and goodbye and all I hear is a phone hanging up SMH I'm only going because I have a gift card I hope when I go in I don't get more of this poor service read more

I used a groupon and was over charged. I also was told that I would not be able to get the groupon because I have more hair. So instead of getting a full highlight I received partial highlights for $15 more then the groupon. At the end of my appointment the stylist said I should be thankful she was doing my hair for a discounted price because she doesn't deal with groupon customers and I was getting a really good deal... I have heard poor things about this place but I decided to try it and I will say I will NEVER come back nor will I recommend them to anyone... read more

Walked into the salon it fairly different from other salons( the set up )I've been to but I love the welcoming of the salon the all ladies are so sweet, (smiled) I had a lady name Stephanie cut my hair after wearing my hair up in a bun for 6 months she cut my hair so precise she made sure to ask and every dynamic on how I wanted my haircut really knowledgeable and just felt so comfortable with her I LOVED MY HAIRCUT haven't been this happy about my hair in about a year! How many of you feel comfortable telling your stylist to do whatever she wants to your hair? I do with Ruth. She knows my hair better than I do. In the early years I told her what I did or didn't like, or I would come in with ideas, and she would help be see the nonsense in them (Mullet, please? Oh, H___ no!) By now - she just takes really good care of me. Thank you Ruth for always sending me out with a great cut, color and style. I am extremely picky when it comes to my hair and have had a hard time finding a stylist that can cut my hair exactly how I like it. I was a little nervous for my appointment with Marianne but it didn't take long to see she knew exactly what she was doing. She listened to me and even went back to texturize and tweak my cut some more after it was complete to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. My haircut is perfect! The salon itself seems nice. My issue was with the stylist that cut and colored my hair. I have shoulder length fine hair and it took 3 hours for her to cut and color my hair. She talked non stop and she stops working while she is talking. While my color was processing she cut 2 other peoples hair and consequently left the product on too long and tried to correct her mistake by pouring toner all over it. My light brown hair had a orange tint to it and the swing bob haircut I wanted was longer in the middle and short in the front and back. Not at all what I wanted. I will never go back. read more

I got a cut and blow-dry from Stephanie Lugo. My appointment was at 10am, but she did not even arrive at the salon until 10:15am. When she got there, she thought that I was there to get highlights, which I was not. When she sat me down to shampoo my hair, she said "I need to glue my nail," and walked away. The haircut was very choppy, and I asked her to trim a chunk that was hanging in my face, but she ignored me, and I ended up having to cut it when I got home. When she was finishing up styling my hair, she kept flicking my hair in my face. I've never had anyone do that, and it was beyond annoying. When she was finished, she did not provide me with a mirror to look at the back and side, and did not ask me if I wanted anything trimmed or fixed at all. I was very disappointed. Overall the other staff members were very courteous, and the place was clean, but I would not get another cut from Stephanie. read more

I purchased a living social medi pedi. The manicure was so bad I had to leave before the pedi. Cut my nails to short after I told her twice NO, filed horrible, applied polish worse then my 12-year old niece. What a waste of money and my time. Got a great deal on LivingSocial (or so I thought) to go to D&D. Took a picture I liked from a magazine to show the hair color and cut I wanted. They gave me to the new girl who did not color or cut my hair to be anything like the picture. The hair color came out as a dark base and super light blond strands, like a totally 80s frost. And the dark parts of my hair had a greenish tint. I don't know how that happens but I know a hair stylist should fix it before I leave the salon. My stylist did not fix it. It took weeks, if not a month, to fade out. And really, I was dissatisfied with my hair every time I looked in the mirror until I got it colored by someone else - who gave me the exact color I was after when I went to D&D! It's too bad D&D seems to have a policy of giving their LivingSocial customers cut rate service instead of trying to impress us so that we'll come back over and over. I spent way too much money for this bad experience. Highly recommend going elsewhere! read more

Usually, I love going here to get my hair done. My usual stylist is out with a family issue. So the last time I booked in with Pat. She did a wonderful job and so it was time to get my hair cut once again and I called for an appointment and my usual stylist is still out and Pat is on vacation. I booked an appointment after work on a Saturday with Stephanie. I arrived early and checked in at the desk. I new I would have some wait time because I was early but didn't mind because I like to watch the stylist cutting their clients hair. So the whole time I was there I was never spoken to again by any of the staff. A half an hour after my supposed appointment I went to the desk to let them know I was leaving. In the meantime, I had been watching this one stylist and was not impressed with her work. After her last client left she spent some time cleaning up her station and then just sat in her chair and played with her hair. Now when I am at the desk telling them I am leaving they call my stylist over and it was the same one who had been sitting at her station like she had nothing else to do. She came over and didn't apologize or say anything at all. I just left. Not sure if I will go back but, if I do it will only be with either of the two stylist who I have worked with before. read more
