K1 Speed: Inaccurate Height Sign -- We Have the Photos to Prove It…read moreI'm not one to leave negative reviews, but what happened at K1 Speed warrants a warning for other families -- and we have photographic proof. K1 Speed's posted minimum height for Junior racing is 48". My son is exactly 48". We made the trip specifically because he qualifies. What we discovered on arrival is that K1 Speed's own height measurement sign is wrong by 2 inches. We brought a tape measure and documented it on the spot. In our photos, you can clearly see that the line labeled "48"" on their sign actually sits at the 50" mark on a standard tape measure. Their sign has been mounted or printed incorrectly -- meaning children who are a legitimate 48" are being turned away based on a miscalibrated sign. My son sat in the kart. He could reach the pedals. There was no functional or safety reason to exclude him. Yet staff still refused to let him race, citing the sign -- the very sign we had just proven was inaccurate. We showed staff the photos. No resolution. No apology. No willingness to escalate or problem-solve. The staff was very nice, but unfortunately unable to help. K1 Speed, this is not a minor mix-up. Families are planning trips around your stated requirements, and your measurement tool is provably wrong. Fix the sign, and train your staff to handle situations where your own equipment is at fault. We paid for the rides and you'd need to pay additional for the arcade use. The price for the rides (all included) seemed to be pricey to me but it did entertain us. Overall, a good experience. Two downsides were that the smaller kid rides weren't always staffed and the staff members really didn't really seem to desire to open up the huge shades for us despite it being very hot outside.

Probably won't be back but was a good experience on vacation. There is also a lot right next to the pier that charges $10 for parking. Pretty much how it goes during crazy tourist season!

We were able to find welcoming parking on someone's property who was offering $10 spaces. There were quite a few places like this closer to the entrance and very nice home owners who were using this opportunity for visitors which seems to be a "win/win". $10 per person to get in the venue. We walked the entire area within less than an hour. We didn't purchase anything, but did see some interesting things. Of course there are blue crabs there (?), not like we expected and not at every booth --- but unfortunately- just a few carnival type vendors/food with some seafood dishes that may or may not have crab options. Had expected it to be more about those delicious BLUE CRABS with ALL the advertising & marketing. It is a small town, so I'll give them that. However, it's literally just like a farmers market with same type of stuff. It came st us about $10.00 for the day and some of the lots will shuttle you the several blocks down the road on golf carts. We found out later, there is also a bus shuttle available. The festival itself gets incredibly crowded but it really wasn't an issue. There are vendors everywhere selling everything from craft items to gutter systems. Actually, the one item I did buy was from a Tastefully Simple rep who had a booth set up. Oh, and there was a Puppy Kissing booth set up by the local shelter. As for the shrimp, we ended up in a bar/restaurant called Daddio's and got some decent shrimp but nothing special. It wasn't until we walked to the far side of the festival did we see food trailers with all sorts of delicious looking seafood. This festival is definitely worth a visit once a year.

The park was clean and FINALLY an amusement park playing great music and not that rap crap. Food was very good and OMG they serve alcohol. Russel on that Spider-Man ride was funny. Nancy on the choo choo antique cars was friendly and Lisa on hot air balloon ride gets an At dealing with my ver stubborn 4 yr old. She took the time to ensure my lil one it's a fun not scary ride.
