This is a must do on trips to Myrtle Beach. You will pay a pretty penny but I personally believe it is worth it. Although they said the zip line portion isn't open yet. You can successfully zip line through the ropes course. Open to all ages and different levels. My kids ages 10, 13, and 18 really enjoyed this. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We drove an hour to do this and arrived at 5:20 tonight. We were told they decided to close early and were just then sending the last group. I told the man we just drove an hour, hoping he would let my son join the last group. I said we just drove an hour and your website says you close at 8. He said no at 6....Either way it was 5:20! Their own website takes reservations until 8! So how do they close at 6? I guess they feel fine about doing bad business because they are in a tourist area and it doesn't matter to them. This was THE best ropes course I've ever attended. Just let me warn you, IT'S NOT FOR THR WEAK. There are 3 levels that you can choose to go through. Everyone starts a off at Level 1. I was a little skeptical initially due to the fact that the attendant walked us through how to put on our own harness. The fact that no one checked our harnesses to make sure they were secure enough scared me. We also went through ground rules and a walk through of how to hook and unhook yourself from the ropes. The attendant was really talking too fast, BUT we were allowed the opportunity to practice prior to beginning the actual course. Now the courses are CHALLENGING. It takes a lot of upper arm strength once you get to level 2. The courses are a mix between zip lining and actual ropes, which I thought was cool. My husband and I also attempted Level 3, but we had to turn around due to the difficulty. BEWARE, LEVEL 3 IS VERY DIFFICULT. If you complete it, then I commend you. There are water stations set up at each level for hydration, which was really nice. Staff was super friendly! You also have an opportunity to purchase pictures at the end. I did this ropes course in July with my husband and sister-in-law, and we all had a great time! We did all 3 levels, with the 3rd level much tougher than the others. The course required some balance and some upper body strength (more on the 3rd level). Because we were strapped in, we felt completely safe the whole time. Even though I have a bad sense of balance and the boards were partially wet since it had recently rained, it was still a lot of fun and I was able to do more than I thought I would. I would, however, recommend bringing gloves, if possible. They're not 100% necessary, but they would prevent blisters. Fun place to hook up and climb, up over and around various cat walks and wires. They run groups of people through on a schedule, so be prepared to wait while the instructor goes over the rope, harness and various connectors. If you are an experienced climber or athletic and up for the challenge be sure and get out in front of slow movers. Otherwise you will end up waiting, similar to put-put for slower groups move along. We visited early around 10:30 am and waited about 30 minutes to get started. There were several groups on the ropes by the time we had finished up after about two hours. For younger climbers it can be challenging to move the ring and trolley around the poles and thread the ring (which is always attached to the cable system for safety) around the various junctions in the cable system. Each section requires the climber to hook-up before progressing and if a climber has trouble moving the ring between sections, the instructor has to help out which can be time consuming. Bottom line, this is a fun time for athletic adults and kids ~ 5ft and larger. Climbers need to be able to pull themselves along suspended by the rope or pull the rope using arms to get up to the tree stands between sections. Note the zip line and climbing wall is separate feature and price. We did the rope course which include sections where the climber can "zip line" between sections depending on abilities. Would have rated higher, except the time involved (allow 2 hrs plus) and price (100$ plus for two) which was on the higher end for this type of activity in our opinion. read more

I recently visited radical ropes. My boyfriend and I did the ropes course (level 1 and 2). Staff- amazing, from the front desk too the staff on the ropes course they were knowledgable, friendly, and safety focused. Staff at the front explained everything to us from beginning, to end. Staff in the ropes course kept us safe and gave us tips and tricks to get past certain points. Equipment- I'm afraid of heights, so the fact they got me to trust the equipment was really impressive. They also have a selfie station, and cameras set up throughout the 3 level course. Safety- you get a safety briefing, and the staff check your harness. They also have first aid kits and "rescue" kits just in case you fall off one of the checkpoints. All in all, it was a amazing experience. According to my fitness app I burned 900 calories, so it's also a great vacation work out! read more

My husband and daughter did this rope course. My daughter found it so fun (14) and was able to complete most of it. She made it to level 3 but her dad pooped out. The staff were super friendly, even during his rescue as he dangled on part of the course. We were looking for a little adventure on our recent vacation and we found it at Radical Ropes. While your age and skill level determine how much of the course you can experience, the pricing is tiered accordingly and we found a $10 coupon. We had participants ranging in age from 8 to 48 and everyone had a good time. One of our little ones got tired after making it nearly all the way around the first level and called in a rescue, but everyone else made it through to the upper levels and was tired and sore, but all smiles. Place is awesome and the employees are the absolute best. They have three levels of ropes courses, with the highest being quite challenging and the lowest being a solid challenge in itself. What I like most about this place is their employees. Super helpful. Friendly. Some of the best customer service I've seen. For example, my 10 year old daughter who was super pumped about tackling this course, found herself a little more nervous than she planned. In fact, she was ready to give up and climb down when one of the ground workers noticed her and talked her through the rest of the course. He never left her side, constantly giving her guidance, tips to make the obstacles easier, and lots of encouragement. I'm certainly indebted to his kindness and caring attitude. I was concerned about the continuous belay system they used since the 15yo was on her own and up yo 55'. Grumble...just-like-that, another business draws my ire for failing to appreciate the symbiotic relationship between locals and themselves. Permit me a sardonic moment to direct my comments directly to the owners of this establishment: Sure, the tourists keep you hopping in the Summer, but look at you now... a ghost town of a rope course, now closed Monday though Thursday. Hardly a necessary move; locals would flock to you if you made a reasonable effort to encentivize them in the off season. Now, don't confuse my disappointment with self-entitlement. See, now I have to give you the talk. The self entitled want something for nothing. A local (such as myself, in a resort community, such as this) knows it's hard to get out of their car without someone asking them if they know a good place to eat or a cool place to take the kids. We are the ones who shepherd discretionary dollars your way...we tend to send people to the places we actually enjoy....a simple thank you by way of a local discount says, "come try us out, thanks for sharing...we appreciate you." See, you've failed to capitalize on your best possible advertising. The eager local who watched your place go up...the guy who rides past your business every day on their way to the post office while the kids are screaming, 'daddy, that looks cool, can we go?!" Meh, I digress...you guys will work it out. I hope. So, moving forward and speaking as a would be patron, like the majority of those reading this post. I actually made it as far as the check-in counter here before bailing. It costs over 100.00 (PER PERSON) to do everything. 49.00 for the zip line, 49.00 for the aerial and 19.00 for the climbing wall. C'mon, you can get into Disney World for the whole damned day for that kinda money! Unlike other courses, there's nothing even remotely serene here. It's built within feet of the busiest Hwy in Myrtle Beach on what was an old miniature golf course. Look, if you've got your heart set on a rope / climbing course, I suggest heading over to Broadway at The Beach and hitting Wonder Works. Google is your friend! You can get combo tickets for the outdoor and indoor courses for 40.00 and there's a ton of places to eat and shop when you're done! Just look for the cool upside down building. Broadway At the Beach is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state and it's open year round. If you're visiting in the off season, you'll practically have the place to yourself. Go get some of that! Anyway, this place looks great from the street. I'll give them 3 stars for appearances. It does look fun. Too bad the pricing stopped me at the front door. We took our church teen group and we walked away feeling like such conquerors! I was intimidated by the idea of a self guided tour but it is truly an ingenious place. It will definitely challenge you but just focus on one step at a time and before you know it that hovering swinging ladder is now behind you. I wanted to surprise my twin daughters with a fun adventure and so...we go to Radical Ropes. First off, they false advertise with a $10 off by reserving online with the code "ZIP". (It doesn't work, trust me). Then I call 4 times, but to no avail...so I'm thinking, wow, no problem. This place is probably busy and doing pretty good! I'll just show up and reserve a spot there and ask about the $10 discount. Well... The two ladies there at the front today (Friday, 7/15/16) (looked like sisters or mom/daughter)....100% totally rude!!! I understand maybe you've had a bad day. I understand that sometimes things at home happened. But these two must have had NO training in customer service. Bad bad bad bad attitudes. The worst ever. I really don't complain, but these two ladies should be canned!!! Your business will stay where it is and not grow with bad attitudes like that. This is a tourist town!!! You need tourists (and locals) to thrive! But you will never see a dime of my money until those two rude ladies are gone. They know who they are, trust me! So glad I saved my $200 and not give it to those two imbeciles! You should be ashamed! My 8 year old twins even noticed how rude you were! Get over yourselves and get some more training!! Extremely fun place to spend time with family. Even if you are scared of heights you can do this high ropes course. Some obstacles might seem to be hard, however if you put your mind to it you can do anything. My only issue is that there is only water on the main platform, which resulted in overheating and feeling sick. Other than that the course was awesome and provided my friend and I with many fun memories that will last for a lifetime. read more

This place is a joke. We came into town to visit friends, and called to request a reservation for a group of 10. We were told that all the reservations for the day were booked, BUT we could come at 6:30 and do the "twilight" time which does not need a reservation and just arrive by 6:30 to get started. Arrived at 6:21, filled out the online waiver while waiting in line, and then when it was our turn to check in, they asked how many people. We said 9, and after a few minutes we were told,"sorry we can't take you today." When we asked to speak to the manager, she told us that it was the end of the shift and they didn't have enough staff to accommodate our group. Mind you, there were only 3 other cars in the parking lot and there was only one group of 3 people in front of us when we arrived! Needless to say we won't return, won't recommend this place, and anyone else should avoid this place as well. A tourist town should never NOT be staffed in the summer to accommodate a group, or your business will be short lived given the competition and other options to spend our tourism money on. read more

Such a great place to challenge yourself with friends and family. I went with my friend a couple weeks ago and it was a blast. there's 3 different levels on the main ropes course. There's level one which is the lowest rope course height wise. It is relatively easy to complete and is a fun quick exercise. Level two is one higher than level one and is slightly more difficult but was still pretty easy to complete. Level three is where things get intense. They give you a quick talk before starting three telling your how more than half of the people who attempt it, will not complete it. Level three was definitely a challenge for me as it mostly focused on my upper body and core strength. I completely the third level but was exhausted afterwards. I really like how this ropes course place had a challenge for every level as it was fun to push myself to do my best. The staff were super helpful and kind. They were very informative and well versed. If it's your first time doing anything like this, the staff will for sure help you with any worries or confusion. i loved this place and it was only a 10 minute drive from myrtle beach. Radical Ropes was a great experience! They just opened in July '15 so everything is new. The ropes course is built in a wooded lot and is really cool. They have 4 levels of difficulty with about 17 different challenges per level. You get 2.5 hours of play with your admission. We started on level 1 and don't let the "easy" rating fool you, it was tough! That's as far as we could get, but we are newbies! The course is awesome, tight ropes, planks, rolling skate boards, zip line, hanging boards, etc. the other levels were extreme and looked like something out of American Ninja Warrior! They have courses and zip lines for all ages starting at 7, and all levels easy to skilled challenge seeker! The staff was very friendly, and extremely helpful. Safety was critically important and you have to go through ground school prior to going on the course. There was a photo package you can get that took pictures of you on the course and for $9/person, you got all the photos, what a steal! The cost of the admission was $150 for 2 adults and one child. We also found a $5 off adult admission coupon in one of those Myrtle Beach coupon books. This was probably the best value for entertainment in MB. We would definitely go back and recommend to others! read more

This place was so incredibly fun! It is most definitely not OK for anyone with the slightest fear of heights. My cousin and I went here just for the ropes course, they do online reservations for set times. At each time slot they will brief you on how to put on the equipment and how to maneuver through the obstacle course. Then you get to go to the tower and there is someone to guide you onto the first obstacle. After that, you are on your own....completely...there is no turning back! My cousin did end up getting too scared to finish and we had to wait until an employee came around on the ground to tell him to rappel her down. I ended up finishing the course alone. They have 3 levels of courses to do that are all included if you do the ropes course, and you can do them at your own speed. Overall, it was super fun, I just need to find one in California!! read more

I went to the beach this past weekend to celebrate turning 30 but seriously was looking to relax and try one or two new things. This place is right between the main roads and beach front hotels so its easy to get to. All the staff is extremely helpful and the rock wall and trust fall (I think that's what its called basically a jump from 65 ft) was more fun than expected. I will be back in three weeks with the kids to try the obstacle course and zip line. read more

My daughter did the kids zip and it felt like she was done in twenty minutes. The staff... Not as encouraging as I expected throughout the course. I didn't have a bad experience, but noticed the way one staff in particular spoke to some participants. The person that helped us with the gear was not at all enthusiastic, did not introduce herself and just gave us instructions on how to wear the gear and a tutorial I how to use work the course, nothing more.
