The name may be misleading. Or it may be a pun. But Dive Bar isn't a dumpy bar. It's actually a nice, clean spot with live music and good views of both the ocean and sunset. During my visit they had a Bruce Springsteen cover band which opened with Thunder Road, and therefore had my heart forever. The bathrooms were very clean. They had a local selection of beers, which were only about $6 a pop. It was a chill scene and I'd recommend as part of your day or night adventures. read more

We were here the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend at around 5 p.m. It was jam packed and we waited around 25 minutes for an outdoor table. Nobody seemed to want to leave and all looked like they were having a good time... ... Until the drunks started staggering around and one--whom we were eventually seated next to--started throwing up. The staff is young and friendly, but should watch the alcohol intake of the patrons. I get it's a party weekend at a party town, but no one sober wants to be seated nearing a puking drunk. Food was decent--we had shrimp scampi flatbread and spinach-artichoke dip. Both were quite good. It's on the pricey side as one would expect in an outdoor establishment on a pier in a very popular shore town. The alcohol is also way expensive, again, as one would expect. We arrived for the ending set of a fairly good live band, and there was loud music after that. It was an awesome ambiance--with the exception of that mentioned above. There are some outdoor games like cornhole, and people were dancing--the ones that apparently drank enough. Everyone was having a good time by all appearances. Very disappointed. The restaurant menu looked very appealing, so we decided to stop in for dinner this evening only to be met at the door with a $10 per person cover charge. If I wanted to stay and enjoy the entertainment and the cover charge requirement was made public on their web site I would not have complained; however, since we were unaware of the fee prior to our arrival, we opted to take our dinner business elsewhere. read more

Buffalo chicken flatbread was dry flavorless chicken on a stale oversized cracker with cold congealed mozzarella and the blue cheese was barley existent. Space is huge, went for late lunch on a Monday June 24. Greeted by an older gentleman who put a band on us, walked around & found our spot, boys at the bar, us four ladies at a round high top near by. Not crowded at all. Service is quick and efficient, drinks were good. I love the name and all the nautical pictures and decor. I'd definitely go back again it's nice to ride your bike to eat and drink and ride home. Wasn't busy and the wait for two sandwiches was excessively long. The food was on the low end of mediocre, the chips as the standard side were lacking in flavor. The wait to then get the check was extremely long as well. Wasn't offered a refill the entire time as well. read more

If you're in Wildwood NJ area I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this establishment at all costs!!!! They have THE WROST customer service I have ever seen. They refused our WV license to get in and refused my fiancé and I 's second form of ID even after presenting 2nd form of ID regulations per state of NJ bar anticipation . We went back to speak to management an hour later and the man in gray said My fiancé military ID is valid, but he was not letting him in. I was never asked if I had a credit card (most likely assuming because I'm a women I don't pay) and when I provided one he said I still was not being let in. The man also told my fiancé he was glad he is military so he can learn respect and told me to "fuck off" and was spoken down to when stating I wanted to speak to a manager and was told I could only talk to the man in the gray shirt and that all management was in a meeting and there is no contact number for the restaurant. read more

Worst service ever. My husband and I were there between lunch and dinner. Place was extremely slow. Staff to customer ratio was about equal and the staff was more intent on shooting the breeze than attending to their customers. Food arrived never had utensils or napkins, had to wait for awhile before catching someone's attention to get some. Beers were empty with no offer for more. I could go on and on. Atmosphere was beautiful, there was live music (a little loud) but great music. We sat for awhile before we were greeted by a server and then had to look up the cocktail menu on our phones since we were never given one. There was only two other tables at the time we were there eating and maybe 3 outside. I counted 4 servers plus 2 bartenders. Tried both bucket drink selections and didn't care for either. Food was ok, wouldn't order the guacamole again it was served with burnt chips/pita. The loud drunk gentleman at the bar screaming the whole time was my favorite part of the experience. One word--AWFUL. Bouncers are extremely rude. They charge $10 per adult at SIX O'CLOCK for a band that we really could care about. When you're going with a family of 5+ adults (and kids), that's already $50 right there for let's face it, mediocre bar food. They have no policy too for this. We were told by one bouncer one night that they start charging at 6:30pm so we went at 6pm on a different night and were told $10 per person. Proceeded to tell us they don't know who this person is. If you're going to manage a restaurant, at least come up with some type of schedule for example, after 6pm, cover charge is $10 per adult but to blind side people by changing the time each night is RIDICULOUS. Thank god we did not go to the beach that day and leave early to get ready for this place. We had little kids with us too. You're better off going to Captain Jacks who have live music but don't charge you for it! STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE!! read more
